lol Sal - I meant meet up for a coffee - you will be way too busy

JennyPenny22 · 11/02/2010 06:20

Hi all. Talia decided 5am was a good time to wake up for the day which is why I am on here early . Thanks for all your opinions and advice, we are off to Horsham today to look round various areas and look at a house or 2. Bringing Mum alone for good measure.

Just feel a bit like everybody in RL is against it and nobody has really listened to me. Even friends, BIL etc have moaned at me about it and everybody questions everything to do with it. Why can't you just do x y z instead etc - we don't want to!

Nappywise I am about to sell off my YoYoos at £6 each plus postage if anybody is interested?
Won't get a chance to sort it out till the weekend but just wanted to let you know. Facebook is the best way to contact me if your interested as I have had lots of emails go missing and don't come on here as often anymore.

Octo - Unless an opportunity for free tickets to the babyshow comes up, then I don't think I will go, just can't justify the cost really when we don't really need to go. I do enjoy going though so if I can find some free tickets then I might go. Did I tell you somebody stole mine from me outside last time??? The ones lollipop gave me? Was busy filling in the kids forms at the little desk bit, while trying to keep both DC happy, and next min - no tickets!

JennyPenny22 · 11/02/2010 06:20

Oh and another thing, does anybody know if they still do wonderworks/wonderoos AIOs?

I'm sure Babykind used to sell the Jenny, but I have a feeling they were on offer not too long ago.... These are the AIO nappies by Hip Hip Baby if this is what you mean...... HTH! Good luck with house hunting in Horsham. I think your family are crazy. You'll only be an hour away, you're not moving to Cornwall. And from what you said about the way your lives would change, it sounds like your quality of life would be so much better. You only get one chance at life, it's important to be happy.

Scotia · 11/02/2010 09:03

Jenny, an hour away is honestly nothing. My dd1 lives an hour away from me and we see each other at least 2 or 3 times a month. And the phone is your friend

at someone stealing tickets for a baby show!

4andnotout · 11/02/2010 09:14

Jenny i agree with everyne else, if it enriches yours and your dh and dd's lives it has to be worth it, an hour away is nothing!

Morning - you should def live where you are happy - whatever you think is best for the family. However is the rent is only £100 cheaper and you end up driving back and forth you could spend that in petrol (without sounding like one of yoru relatives!!) It has to be because it is a better quality of life.

at someone nicking your tickets!

Off out for the day with ernie to friends house - catch up later.

mumface · 11/02/2010 10:00

Can't believe someone stole your tickets Jenny! Last year I went to the Birm one at 8 months pregnant with 2 kids, pushchair on my own on the train! I was determined to get at those nappies lol. Anyway in the queue a lady gave me a free ticket as her friend had let her down. Shame not all people are that kind.
I have had an early visit to WN. Had my eye on a yellow/orange hand dyed OBV NN all night. Told myself if it was still there in the morning when I had some money, I would get it.
(time for a shuffle up red/green ooga booga is next out!)

QueenofDreams · 11/02/2010 10:08

Rachel - I just bought my first Itti as well I like that the elastic round the legs is really soft. DS has a problem with very delicate skin on his thighs and I'm finding his current nappies are actually tearing it. I'm wondering if Itti's might be the answer DP says that I have to get rid of some of the nappies before I can buy any more
I am thinking of trying fuzzi bunz as well
what date is the excel baby show?

QueenofDreams · 11/02/2010 10:09

I think I may have over-smilied that post. woops.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 11/02/2010 10:20

QueenofDreams: we have same problem with Clement's legs - super, super sensitive skin. And we get on very very well with GreenKids - you should give one a try. They do lovely Minkytimes too, so you don't have to go w/out furry nappies. They're very soft on legs - never had a problem with them ever, and they're super reliable too (just not so much the cotton outer FunTimes), but plain PUL Anytimes are super too.

4andnotout · 11/02/2010 10:47

Mumface tell me about this ooga booga

octothechildherder · 11/02/2010 13:55

Baby show is next weekend friday-sunday at excel.

Just had sine flu jabs - all fine - no screaming or anything! Seems fine so far - throwing golf balls down the stairs. Off to collect some certain fluffy booties from the post office

octothechildherder · 11/02/2010 15:14

I have booties! All I need now is a baby lol (((never)))

thebluefoxategreensocks · 11/02/2010 15:18

Yes Octo, definantly - all the fancy baby gear you're doing now, you must have another one! Just think of all the fun!

octothechildherder · 11/02/2010 15:19

Also have a very cool changing mat come in - will def be getting more! Now ernie is toilet trained can't even use it lol!

mumface · 11/02/2010 16:24

Have dug out the flexi tots and wraps to use today. Connor has soaked through an Itti twice already
I have 12 night nappies now, so am thinking of taking out the boosters in some of them and using them as fitteds for a while. I think it's because Connor is drinking a lot of juice now. Quite fancy a microfibre fitted too, which are slimmest/best out of Bambinex teddy/lollipop softee/little lamb.

octothechildherder · 11/02/2010 16:32

MF - I have a size 2 used Lollipop softee you can have as no longer using it.

mumface · 11/02/2010 17:03

Oh brill thanks Octo.

Babybots · 11/02/2010 17:12

Afternoon all!

Just popping in quick to say hi, really busy here so need to sit and read everything ive missed the past 2 days - started too but DS has other ideas!!

Myjob every time i pack your orders up i swoon at your address!! I'm muchly jealous - my childhood holiday destination is Swanage and spent alot of time in surrounding areas especially Studland beach. Love going down that way reminds me of when i was a child and being out in the boat by old harry rocks learning to waterski with my Dad, never forget his proud face when I did it!!! - opps I digress! Sorry! Hopefully be down there in the summer in the tent as much as possible.

Octo Yey for new stock!

Right need to sort dinner out. I'll be back later.

salbysea · 11/02/2010 19:37

hello

after a rocky start I'm beginning to enjoy using cloth nappies now. Have a bit of a motley collection:
3 home made fleece pockets
3 coolababy/ebay cheepies
2 itti d'lish snap in ones
2 tots bots easy fit bamboozles
1 minky and
1 cushie tushie

going well not that I've ditched the duds the lollipop lady sold me

(although the tots bots easy fits leaked at playgroup today - first leak in ages and it would be when we're out eh!)

am wondering what's so special about bed bugs? are they a different shape or just uber boosted? Do I really need one for an attempt at a night in cloth or would lots of boosting of a fleece do the job?
