Jenny - thirsties. I really am a stuck record on these aren't I? Will try to think of others.

So go on - how many UD's so you have. I have none

treedelivery · 18/08/2009 00:25

Octo - tell me about those one size fb's again. Did you like them?

drlove8 · 18/08/2009 00:25

jenny i ordered them new from nappy needs.... i really dont undrestand why theyve not arrived yet, ive used the site before and had nappies arrive the day after...paypal payment went through straight away, and ive emailed the shop so should hear soon ,
Im ... have about four fluffles that are dry , so that should see us to lunchtime ok, and will use the tumble if i have to.(i know, but it better than buying dispies)..so should manage ok ... its just a pain.
Im a bit of a fan of BBSS , and berryplush when it comes down to minki nappies - i love pockets, so not sure about fitteds. problem is there are that many lush nappies out there now , i dont know how you could choose?.
depends on "type" of baby i suppose? a chubby or skinny-mini? heavy wetter or not?... a talent for exploding poo?...

berryplush isnt a pocket, its a pop the inner in and fasten with poppers nappy - does it even have a "proper catogory"?...lol

JennyPenny22 · 18/08/2009 00:40

Drlove - I don't use pockets anymore as they don't suit Elouise and I need the reliability of 2 parters for Talia as she is a heavy wetter and has exploding poos! lol.

Tree - I only have 5 UD fitteds. BUT the ones I do have are absolutly fab! They are ones you can't order direct from them and have done a fair bit of stalking to get them! lol. Talia has one on now, but I will change her when we go up to bed. She is in the buggy as I resorted to walking her round the block . Her and Elouise were having a "who can stay up the latest" competition. Or maybe it was a "who can scream the loudest" one tonight? They are both usually very good but they are both over tired and out of routine.

I do have about 10-15 UDNNs though!

Very off topic but does anybody know if you can get baby monitors with 2 baby units? I want to start putting Talia up to bed properly as she is used to being in her bouncer but is now so chubby it is almost touching the floor . And the last week or so she hasn't been easy to get to sleep in it. BUT we live in a sound proof old cottage and need a baby monitor in both of the girls rooms

Oh dear. Have just been on UD site. Now £35 more skint then I was 10 mins ago.

JennyPenny22 · 18/08/2009 00:43

Oh and a BerryPlush is an "All in 2"

treedelivery · 18/08/2009 00:47

P.S. get well soon Scotia. Fecking mastitis. Have you tried 'combing' apparently it's wonderful for unblocking.

Don't know about 2 units - but respect for the UD collection!

treedelivery · 18/08/2009 00:50

D1 has a raging temp again! argh!

And I found more fluffles. They are breeding. For sure. They are these for sure.

Actually they have a fleece liner, softest ever.

JennyPenny22 · 18/08/2009 00:57

Keep forgetting to say (sorry to keep posting!)
My BAMBOO MEOS are causing me trouble with washing! . I don't know what to do about them. I only bought them the other day, preloved from UKPL with fraying round the edges but it wasn't that bad. BUT I have washed them twice and both times, they have come out the wash with an applix nappy/wrap stuck to it which made the fraying MUCH worse! They look awful now! It isn't effecting the use at the moment, but I am sure it will do soon if this happens everytime I wash it!

I think I have spent about £150 in the last week on nappies. I REALLY can't afford it. I need to sell some but can't find my camera! Its doing my head in! Might have to borrow one.

I do have lots of lovly fluff on the way though! ! And hubby spent lots on a stag do at the weekend so I should get to spend some on what I want. lol

JennyPenny22 · 18/08/2009 01:16

Going to do a list of what is on its way:

-2 gorgous brand new wraps I just ordered from UD as the girls are both in large now and need to replace the mediums so I can sell.

  • Pop n Grow (s) I won in the CNT competition
  • this UD fitted - paid £12 though preloved.
  • A wipes set, again UD.
  • 4 ittis (pink, turquoise, red, lilac)
  • Black Berryplush
  • 4 WNNLs
  • 3 brand new muttaquins
  • 3 sets of brand new WN wipes
  • various cloth san pro

Probably something I have forgotten!

rusmum · 18/08/2009 07:10

i need to try fluffles me thinks!

4andnotout · 18/08/2009 08:03

Morning all

I really don't want to but i think im going to have to start selling my medium itti's, they are simply getting too tight on Tilly-Grace, but i do love them in matching nappies

Will do some stash pics later when i have got them all back on the unit, i have stolen your idea Tree and folded them with the outer showing, i was very excited but dp was a bit

I thought it was supposed to be a heatwave today it is grey and a bit chilly here

BaronConker · 18/08/2009 08:48

Scotia - my totally useless health visitor managed to give me one good tip, which I've since passed on to anyone I know who gets a blocked duct and it always gets results - put the shower on the hottest you can bear, and right up next to your skin, and blast the area that's blocked with the water, moving it down towards your nipple as if you're massaging the milk out. Do it for a few minutes then afterwards massage it with your hand, and feed your baby. The heat and the pressure of the water often combine to soften the hard blocked bit enough so that a sucking baby can then fully unblock it. I had a horrible, recurring blocked bit with DS2 that started when I tried to feed him lying down one night, and then kept coming back. This was the only thing that worked, but I do have amazing water pressure in my shower!

Octothechildherder · 18/08/2009 08:55

Morning - have a child free day so off into Bath with a friend.

DrLove8 - you ordered them from the wrong place ! Was it microfibre that is smelly or other nappies? Microfibre inserts have a habit of holding in bacteria because people think they are dry but they are still damp in the middle even though they feel dry to the touch so they never quite dry through and then start smelling - same with BG inserts. If cotton nappies would hang on line in the rain for a few days - also gets them nice and soft. I also like using clean & fresh to get stuff super smelling nice.

Fraying nappies - oh dear - if they are second hand not alot you can do about it tbh - I would suggest rtimming the fraying bit but could fall apart totally!

HTH a bit - have a fluffy day

4andnotout · 18/08/2009 08:56

Octo- at your child free day!!

Right i really must get off my bum and start tidying, getting kids ready etc etc!

BaronConker · 18/08/2009 09:40

Noone on here ever mentions Minki nappies. Why is that? Do people not like them or just not have them? I really like mine. They were my absolute fave when DS2 was a baby, I had one lovely one with Dino spikes down the back that was so cute when he was crawling around! I sold them to get new ones (they were preloved) when I was having DS3 and had an adorable size small stars one, and a blue sheep one when he was teeny. They do give the most enormous bum you've ever seen but they can be stuffed to kingdom come which is useful! Plus dry super fast as they are fleece. What does everyone else think?

4andnotout · 18/08/2009 10:03

I had minki's to begin with for dd3 but i have a 'thing' about wet fleece, it really puts my teeth on edge!

purplesal · 18/08/2009 11:13

Tree - one-size FBs? I haven't actually used one on a baby but the fisrt time I saw one the person who was demonstrating it to me lost the end of the adjustable elastic and it took her nearly half an hour to wiggle t through again. But looking at the deisgn that is just so obvioulsy going to happen!! Also I was fairly concerned that the knobbly bit that holds the end of teh elastic would be uncomfortable for the child. So can't comment on teh fit or containment. Seems a shame as a one-size FB would be just perfect wouldn't it!

drlove8 · 18/08/2009 11:25

still no nappies . but have had email saying nappies were dispatched yesterday, that was after 6 , so have no idea if i will get them today.

drlove8 · 18/08/2009 11:45

drlove8 · 18/08/2009 11:48

just about to do the pre- washes of the fuzzis .... but how thick are the boosters? they are huge!

JennyPenny22 · 18/08/2009 11:54

for no nappies. Thats quite poor really. Its a shame we are not local as I could lend you some nappies otherwise!

My fluffy today:
2 cloth san pads,
1 spotty itti that I forgot to include in my list
2 large WN wraps I had forgotten about!
Big sun shade for the buggy which isn't fluffy but thought i would mention anyway! lol

4andnotout · 18/08/2009 11:59

Jenny do you like cloth san pro? I'm thinking of trying some cloth pantliners as im still not having periods yet and i thought it would be a good time to try.

JennyPenny22 · 18/08/2009 12:24

Yes I do. I didnt actually like the thought of it before but got one to try and it is soooo comfortable. I like minki topped ones as they are so soft. If you compare this with a disposable one I don't see how you couldn't like it! lol. So much more comfortable.

My periods haven't retured properly yet though. I had one, ages ago so thought they had come back straight away again but not had one since. Got loads of san pro to try but no periods! I have enough for full time use though - which is great. I can't see me not liking them. I was waiting to get a mooncup till my periods came back but as I saw the femecup on sale at bumfluff nappies I got it while it was cheap. I have quite heavy peiods though and they are meant to hold 3 times what a tampon could and no risk of TSS so hoping to use that too. I still don't like the thought of the mooncup/femecup but have heard nothing but good stuff about them so hoping I will like it once I try it!

My view is, if your using washable nappies, its no more hard work to shove some san pads in there too, I just bung them in the nappy bucket. Some of the ladys on CNT rinse or soak theirs first but I am too lazy for that and wash nappies most days anyway. Think it is just from a staining point of view.
I am hoping to sell some cloth san pro when I eventually become a nappy advisor.

I think my favourite cloth san pad so far is my puddlekins, and I was just a tester for it and they have improved since then. I think they are the cheapest too. Ems is really nice too which is always a bonus and will make you whatever you want really

treedelivery · 18/08/2009 12:52

Octo at childfree at going to Bath. Have another . Here's another Mum is getting me the wet bags for my birthday - a bit early as bd is October but hey ho! Sooner I get them better value they are!
Am I better waiting for new stock? I realy want a medium owls!

Sigh for Bath. Only been once, wanted to wear an empire line and have an 'income'

Thats a good tip about microfibre - they can be tricky alright. Nearly all my stuff is mf as we are hard water and line dry. I give them longer drying than I think they need and have avoided smells by enlarge. But she is only just weaning.
Am now on the Bold and loving it! Thank you Jenny!

Baron - have just bought a [very] pre loved slink, no insert. Am yet to try it! What would they come with if new, by way of an insert?

DrLove for you. Postal strike in a few areas, that might have affected you.
Oh - no! I see they have landed. Hurrah!
Purplesal - I can just imagine that happening!
