Tree yay to trialling new nappies, very exciting no between mumsnetters. We need to share results here!

mumface · 11/08/2009 19:21

I am a SAHM & divorced DH whilst pregnant so no-one to witness my overstocked nappy stash! Although my 5 year old has started to say 'not more nappies mum!...

treedelivery · 11/08/2009 19:43

Poor Hats temp up again. Very miserable.

Off to sort some paper liners - where do you all get yours?

I have found the totsbots spun liners to be the softest. Noticed they sell them in mothercare now.Think it was £4.99 for 2 rolls.

swampster · 11/08/2009 20:37

I am in awe of you, mumface! LOL at your five-year-old.

Hope Hats has a good night, tree, and feels better tomorrow.

twoclimbingboys · 11/08/2009 21:04

mumface lol at your 5 yo!

tree I hope Hattie is feeling a bit better now. DH has washed nappies with fabric conditioner before. It didn't do any lasting harm, just a PITA to strip.

mistermoo please don't feel bad. I think that was a lovely thing to do and it just makes me want to order off you. I certainly don't agree with ilmd about this one, but each to their own.

JennyPenny22 · 11/08/2009 21:58

Mistermoo - I agree with 2CB. I think it was lovely. Well done.

4andnotout · 11/08/2009 22:10

Anyone looked on the Nappies for sale board recently

TheNatty · 11/08/2009 23:00

mistermoo that was a lovely thought for tree, dont feel stupid at all.
ilovemydog, i think that was uncalled for, it was a kind gesture, not everything has to be done by the book.

i have 2 packs of disposables i am struggling to get thru.. why do ppl keep buying them for me? everyone KNOWS i dont use them.. whats the matter with ppl.
i dont mean to sound ungrateful, but for the price of a pack of nappies, they could have bought me something useful.

its like buying formula for a BFing mum!

TheNatty · 11/08/2009 23:10

mistermoo - when are the blueberry wraps avaliable? i am dying for the poppered ones, just says coming soon. i am impatient! i want one now!

twoclimbingboys · 12/08/2009 07:09

ooh poppered blueberry's - I want one too!

notcitrus · 12/08/2009 08:35

hello again - thanks for all the advice on AIOs with velcro. After lots of searching CMT and all the other nappy sites - seems everyone hangs onto their large nappies; took ages to find any large ones - I am now the very happy owner of 4 rainbow Lollipops. They fit over his chubby bottom well and dry really quickly. And are just adorable!

His nursery were very impressed - the head of the baby room is very interested in all his lovely nappies and I think will become a cloth evangelist soon!

Off to hunt down a few more velcro bargains - my trusty Bumbles are coming to the end of their life. They're on baby #4 and in places going bare where the fluff has rubbed off from the nippa - which explains why some aren't very absorbent.

[googles more nappy brands]

4andnotout · 12/08/2009 08:43

Notcitrus-do they have to be aio's or will you consider 2 parters? I have some flexitots for sale on the forsale board

mumface · 12/08/2009 08:56

I have flexitots.Lovely and soft v.absorbent.I love them on dS2.

mistermoo · 12/08/2009 09:19

thenatty do you mean the poppered minky blueberries, or the poppered blueberry cover-alls? I think I can guess, but just checking...

TheNatty · 12/08/2009 09:34

right guys, ideas for night nappies?
UD and WN are closed atm, to be honest i dont want to wait till they open and then another 2-3 weeks.

so most absorbant nappies? charlie now doing an 8 hour stretch (he wont let me change him at night without screaming down the house, even tho he is waking for feeds grr)

TheNatty · 12/08/2009 09:35

i want the poppered wraps, not the pocket nappies.
exciting! never seen them before, they have always been velcro

BaronConker · 12/08/2009 09:36

notcitrus

The time has come to part with one of my adored BBOS. It's in v good condition as I have this wierd thing that I hardly ever use my favourite nappies as I'm always 'saving them for best'. I am selling it because I have far too many the same and now have a cushie tushies on the way

So may I divert your attention to the For sale boards?

4andnotout · 12/08/2009 09:40

TheNatty-I can't recommend BBH's enough i absolutely adore them, i think i have about a 12 now though and only use them at nights

Will go and gander at the for sale boards now..

TheNatty · 12/08/2009 10:00

4 hemp or bamboo? or do you use the AIO?

4andnotout · 12/08/2009 10:09

I have hemp and bamboo's, the bamboo is softer but the hemp is just as absorbant (just looks a bit tattier) but if you use a fleece liner it doesn't really matter. I think the hemp come up a bit bigger too.

I don't fancy the AIO's for some reason

TheNatty · 12/08/2009 10:12

so which is more absorbant? i would use fleece liners in them def as its all night.
dont spose you fancy parting with some of yours?

4andnotout · 12/08/2009 10:15

I would say the bamboo's are a touch more absorbant than the hemp but there really isn't much in it. I will have a count up when the machine stops and let you know what i have

mistermoo · 12/08/2009 10:18

natty - you can get blueberry minky poppered wraps, or blueberry poppered 'cover-alls' ... both are wraps.. the 'cover-all' is quite new though (and not minky, and not as many patterns...)
off now to take 3xDC to zoo.. lucky me

TheNatty · 12/08/2009 10:19
