mistermoo i didnt know you could get the minky in popper.. ooooo
the coveralls are more BTP tho arnt they, i fancy one of each

drlove8 · 12/08/2009 10:30

Can i just be very cheeky and bring this up?
there seems to be a lot of comments about how expensive cloth is just now..... i think even the most expensive minki nappys are still much cheeper in the long term than disposies/dispicables.... top level nappy might be £20 each( it does seem ouchy) , but a a packet of disposables can be £5-6 , so you'd get mabey a month ( in guessing here) out off £20 of disposies, and thats it ...no resale value and a stinking bin full of maggots..... but how many times would you use that cloth nappy?.... every day for months...so you are right to get that lush fluff,... and if you get that nappy your chasing after ,preloved ...its even more of a bargin SO BUY MORE
rant over , as you were!

drlove8 · 12/08/2009 10:34

has anyone seen the blueberry/swaddlebees training pants? (am i about to get flamed for mentioning training here?), just got excited cause they have started to do minky ones too and sort of means we can still get fluffy lovelyness when the LO'S are too big for proper cloth.

i agree! DH always moans at me about it, but when i tell him that we would be spending £20 a week with disposables otherwise (we have had 2 in nappies for over 2 years now)
he shuts up, cos i dont spend that in a week on preloved, and i get 2/3 of my money back.
(unless they are unsellable, like the sod who sold me a load of tots bots with buggered elastic)

4andnotout · 12/08/2009 10:46

Drlove I always point out that I have 2 in different sized nappies so it would be 2 packs of nappies and 2 packs of wipes a week so even if I spend £20 a week on fluff Jm not losing anything!
I don't think i'll bother with training pants when the time comes, the other dd's went straight into knickers so will try again withdd3.

mistermoo · 12/08/2009 10:55

natty...gaaa... no blueberry minky wrap with poppers.. i have gone completely mad
of course is only coverall...

drlove8 · 12/08/2009 11:27

mistermoo .... calm down! .... you must plan .... and you cant do that if your slobering all gaga now! ... where did you see the wraps? ....how much are they selling for? think, this is the important part.... have you got the paypal funds? and if not how can you raise them?

Scotia · 12/08/2009 11:40

OK, so I've finally bought some wool to try my hand at knitting some longies or shorties (can't make up my mind which yet ).

I'm also going to try dying some nappies - 3 fluffles and a sandys, along with some grubby looking towels. Any tips? I still need to buy salt so won't be til much later.

sophietom · 12/08/2009 12:30

baron am hoping no one beat me to your BBOS- almost bought one of these new the other day so was v exited when I spotted this

scotia no tips I'm afraid but good luck with dying nappies- will you be sharing pics?

TheNatty · 12/08/2009 13:41

sophietom if you have been beaten to it, i have on on CNT for sale

treedelivery · 12/08/2009 14:10

drlove - see now I have to go buy nappies as you say they are cheap

Hatts nearly better, mummy on knees with tiredness.

Now, 2 parters. Our thirsties nappies and beloved wraps in small are gaping at the waist. I do boost them with our home made boosters. Does this mean she has outgrown them? And is it the rise that is too small, as there is lots of wrap over at the waist iyswim? Or are they too snug for boosting now?
Shes only 14 pounds at 6.5 months! This will be her first grown out of nappy [apart from the teeny Sandy's xs from back in Jan And Feb - sigh]

treedelivery · 12/08/2009 14:14

Jenny does lots of dying I think? The machine type dues. I think the darker colours take very very well and can come out very dark.
What colour you going for? Exciting!

For night I heart microfleece lollipop with totsbots fleece wrap or wool, nappy is only touch damp in the morning. Brill. The whole ensemble does reach her knees though! I hope it is as relieble as she grows in size and wee making ability.

Scotia · 12/08/2009 14:26

I bought a lovely bright blue machine dye

I don't think I can do it today though as ds is very clingy and whingy - has been for a few days now. A spot has appeared on his chest - hope it's not chickenpox.

mumface · 12/08/2009 14:50

DrLove
Want those training pants! gorgeous excuse for more minky. Lewis will be ready in a couple of months (and they will be used for a second child) So can i justify £15.50 on a pair of pants when primark do 6 packs for about £1.
Yes of course I can. Hope someone in UK starts doing them. Maybe Mistermoo?

mumface · 12/08/2009 14:55

Just occurred to me if the training pants are the same fabric as his OS nappies he might think he can pee/poo in them to his hearts content.
The child will just have to learn to accommodate his mothers need for lushness!

mumface · 12/08/2009 15:08

Found some.Babykind do them £17.99!
Must Breath deeply.Then check funds.

drlove8 · 12/08/2009 16:59

Mumface ! lol!

treedelivery · 12/08/2009 17:04

OOOOh Jenny,
did you post that animal print we sorted on cnt? Am tring to predict the post

BaronConker · 12/08/2009 17:11

sophietom - you were the first! I have replied to you on that thread.

Natth, am off to see how much you charged for yours...

JennyPenny22 · 12/08/2009 18:59

Can't stop as hectic but just wanted to warn you that I doubt fluffles will dye as they are MF.

drlove8 · 12/08/2009 19:27

lets talk boosters! whats your favorite booster and why? i am experimenting at the moment...it has suddenly occured to me that the boosters that they sell in boots ,are sort of defeating the purpose, concidering they are disposable ones? why do they sell them at all? i bought a packet during my early cloth days .... and dh said why have you got giant fanny pads in with the nappies? - his actual words! ( he can be minging sometimes)
Now that i have been taught better,(by you lot i have since bought hemp/microfleece boosters!

4andnotout · 12/08/2009 19:57

I don't ever use boosters although i have a crate filled to the brim with them

mumface · 12/08/2009 20:00

Talking boostrers, I got a load of value face cloths from Tescos, for about 20p each. They fold nicely into 3 like a prefold & are not too thick

mumface · 12/08/2009 20:01

Boostrers?

swampfire · 12/08/2009 20:03

I have some BBH boosters - not sure if they are hemp/cotton or bamboo/cotton mix. Bought three cheap on ebay, wish I had bought dozens. They are about the same size as the small BG insert, a bit smaller and slimmer. and soft and lovely.
