I think I'm going to go out and buy some wool tomorrow to knit a pair of shorties

TheNatty · 30/07/2009 23:09

ooooooh i hope you do it.
im going to beg my nana when i see her next week, she used to knit those huge clowns and dolls so a pair of trousers should be a piece of cake!

twoclimbingboys · 31/07/2009 08:25

Morning all.

Good luck with the knitting Scotia that sounds great. I have heard mention that organic merino wool is reasonable on ebay.

Natty - I hope your nana does knit some for Charlie!

I have just been so bad and spent £67 on nappies - 3 toddler bedbugs from HL! Not that i'm making excuses but I have just got a promotion in work (I found out yesterday) and will need to work full time ... so can kind of justify it as a celebratory purchase not that we need more nappies

JennyPenny22 · 31/07/2009 09:38

Congratulations 2CB.

I was at one point tempted by bedbugs but when I asked on CNA at the absorbancy compared to UDNN they weren't as absorbant. My UDNNs struggle so I don't think they would last the night here. Shame as they are so pretty.

Natty - my BILs mum was going to make me some once but the wool was so expensive that I decided that buying preloved woolies would be safer. I think it was about £16 for the wool for one set of longies.

And yes, they take FOREVER to dry.

RUSMUM - I have some pink longies for sale if you are interested. They are "peachy cheeks"? I think. Pink with stripes of a peach colour. Will try and get a picture on if you are interested

twoclimbingboys · 31/07/2009 10:17

Thay aren't as absorbant as UDNNs or even WNNNs, but luckily mine aren't that heavy wetting!

JennyPenny22 · 31/07/2009 11:02

Yer thats basically what everbody on CNA said. You are lucky though - I wish we could use them as they sound lovely. But there isn't much point in us buying them if they are not going to last the night. Elouise leake again this morning - UDNN and Wool longies

twoclimbingboys · 31/07/2009 11:18

At least there is room in UDNNs to add EP inserts extra in the pocket without it causing leg gape. You can't do this with the WNNNs, but it isn't really a problem with either of mine as we don't need extra absorbency.

JennyPenny22 · 31/07/2009 12:29

I add an EP to my WNNN - but only the older style ones. The new ones don't seem to have the space. I want to eventually sell my WNNN I think - but need some more UDNN first. Had advertised to swap but no luck yet!

Octothechildherder · 31/07/2009 12:31

JennyPenny - I prefer a PUL wrap at night for my ds3 over a bamboozle or am going to start using my hand painted UD soy !! Yes atlast have decided it is okay to wash

JennyPenny22 · 31/07/2009 12:53

Octo - I do find PUL reliable but I just worry that it is uncomfortable to sleep in all night? And it can get quite hot in the summer I think.

You still haven't used the UD? It sounds gorgeous! If you ever decide to sell!

JennyPenny22 · 31/07/2009 15:07

Does anybody have any medium or large nature babies wraps they are looking to sell? In good contition ideally? I have just put a (jeans pattern) one on Elouise and the fit is really good.

Guess what we have been using today? PREFOLDS! I can't believe it but I am actually quite impressed. I got them when pregnant with Elouise and I used them breifly when she was tiny. But since then they have only been used as changing mats etc. BUT thought I would give them a try, for nappies to just use when we are at home and I am impressed. Will give it a bit longer yet but they are more slim fitting than the other nappies and I used a minki liner which happened to be exactly the right shape and size! Have used a ME rikki for Talia and the NB for Elouise. Both are gusseted so should work fine.

rusmum · 31/07/2009 17:11

i habe 2 pink ones!

twoclimbingboys · 31/07/2009 17:13

I am thinking of selling 2 large WN wraps. One is orange swirls (the binding on this one is faded) and the other lightning mcqueen. Let me know if anyone wants them or one!

afterglow · 31/07/2009 18:19

I just bought a large Nature Baby multfit wrap and it's great! Goes a treat over the Sandys that won't fit under anything else except wool or Motherease wraps. Hope you find something!
