May get deleted if I post about my own site as seen as advertising - the others know who I am!

TheNatty · 06/07/2009 17:37

Thanks for the help.

I hadn't thought about Motherease Onesize being too thin later on. At the moment I'm so set on the first year or so .

I've had a look at totsbots site now. The bamboozles and flexitots look easy to use and quite slim fitting.

JennyPenny22 thanks for the offer, but I'm going to keep researching for the moment. Baby's not due till November, so I've got some time still! I may come back to you later on though.

If you were going to use bamboozles or flexitots which wrap would you use?

rusmum · 06/07/2009 18:34

my new baboo sandys here!!! how many prewashes?? and should i dry between?? or just wash, wash, wash?

ellielou02 · 06/07/2009 18:35

I would use flexitots, sorry to butt in.

ellielou02 · 06/07/2009 18:36

oops a flexi wrap.

TheNatty · 06/07/2009 18:37

cies if i were you, boring as it seems, i would REALLY get one or two of a bunch of types and trial them all until baby puts weight on and you need the next sizes. THEN bulk buy your favourites.

this is my third child in cloth, yet i am doing this still as you dont know what will fit your child as they fit diff body types differently iuswim?

i have muslins, terries, tots bots bamboo and cotton, LL microfibre and cotton, some BTP pockets, some sized pockets, MEOS, smart nappies, and a few random ones i forget till i raid the box.

for wraps, motherease are realible but boring, WN are supposed to be good wraps, i like cotton bottoms and tots bots

HTH

Cies · 06/07/2009 18:37

Don't worry about butting in ellielou02, I need all the help I can get! Why would you go for flexitots?

TheNatty · 06/07/2009 18:39

rus, some ppl say dry others say dont bother.
oooh sandys! drools

am i buying the LL off you?

Cies · 06/07/2009 18:39

That's interesting TheNatty.

Final question from me, I promise .

At what age would a baby typically go from size ones to size twos? (Can you tell I'm a first time mum?)

TheNatty · 06/07/2009 18:42

err different per nappy. i THINK its about 4 months.. depends on the baby as well i suppose. i have fat babies so they dont do mine that long

ellielou02 · 06/07/2009 18:44

cies IM very short experience of using cloth they are quite a thirsty nappy and not too bulky.

TheNatty · 06/07/2009 18:44

oh and buy second hand size small sizes, cos u can resell them for pretty much what you paid. therefore they have cost you nothing, and you get to work out your favourite type
if u wanted new nappies save it for buying the next size as baby will be in next size for ALOT longer (typically about 2 years)

Cies · 06/07/2009 18:44

Thanks for all the help.

ellielou02 · 06/07/2009 18:45

My DD went to size 2 at 7 months.

TheNatty · 06/07/2009 19:19

result then 7 months worth of nappies for free or very little money!
hope my new lo stays little enough for longer this time

4andnotout · 06/07/2009 19:43

Morning ladies. Just doing a catch up

Had a slight fit of buying some new nappies this weekend (always a bad move and the credit card is still in shock!). You know how it goes...you see something, then something else, and before you know it you've spent a small fortune.

Anyhoo, I've bought some more Sandy's in the large size as she grew out of the small and the mediums I had. New rainbow colours too from LGE website. Have the Motherease BTP in the rainbow already. They are so lovely the colours

Oh, and I bought an Itti Bitti to try. Never used these before. I'm thinking that they're similar to the Bumgenius I already use as they're an AIO. Am I right?

FWIW you ladies that have bought the M/ease BTP, I've used them since K was born but now she's older, I put in a snap in liner for a bit extra absorbency and at night a bamboo insert. Never had a leak yet
