You could give nappies to your local real nappy network in case they give out free trial kits - I take in nappies for Wilts - means we can have more and more kits!

JennyPenny22 · 26/06/2009 19:12

4 - Have you ever been brave enough to take washables camping? I don't mind sposies for Elouise too much, but on Talia, they leak everytime she poos! But thinking, if it is hot, stinky nappies in a hot tent = Gross!!

I think I will see how much space we have in the car regarding travel cot. As long as we have the space, I will shove it in the car and if we don't use it then it can just stay in the car! Dad said he has a huge windbreak we can take though which can go all the way round the front, making a little garden, that Elouise shouldn't be able to escape from! I might test her on Snday - see if I can get her to take a nap in a travel cot at mums. If she will sleep in it then it will definatly be worth taking! I doubt she will though!

Sorry guys for all the off topic chat .

I have decided I definatly want to become a nappy advisor. I have been wanting to do it for about a year but TBH I just don't know where to start! I looked into lollipop and a few others but you had to be tied to their company, which I don't want to do. I want to be able to choose which nappies to sell and want to be able to do it my way! Including second hand ones.

ceb80 · 26/06/2009 20:23

Baron I did thank you for the offer but I have a little boy and DH would not be happy with his boy in pink!

twoclimbingboys: Thanks for letting me know that UD still make bamboo velour nappies! I've looked on their website before but never managed to see any mention of that fabric choice. Sounds very tempting, but now that I have 7 HL Bedbugs...I really don't even need to be thinking about nappies!

Speaking of UD, I got Clement one of their lovely fleece wraps the other day (bright cute fishy print) - preloved from someone on CNT. It's such a great fit and will last him for a while yet!

JennyPenny22 · 26/06/2009 23:05

Rachel - Elouise has a large UD fleece wrap and it is our favourite wrap. I love it. It is what converted me to the idea of fleece! And the tabs meet in the middle! She is wearing it to bed tonight, while her woolies are drying!

JennyPenny22 · 26/06/2009 23:17

I have a small, fushia berryplush AI2 if anybody is interested? Its gorgeous, but we use 2parters so its not getting used. Or does anybody know the going rate for one?

johnworf · 27/06/2009 07:04

Not sure if you ladies already know this but Little Green Earthlets have a 15% off at the mo. Spend a minimum of £20 and enter "MAGIC6" at checkout to receive 15% off all products in the Bathtime and Hygiene Department. Sadly not including nappies this time

I've not used wool wraps or fleece wraps come to think of it. I'm put off by the upkeep TBH. At the moment I'm using Motherease BTP with airflow wraps. Imse Vime organic BTP with organic soft cotton wraps. And the Bum Genius 3 AIO.

Always on the lookout for good recommendations for other nappies though if you have any I've used Tots Bots, Nature Baby, Fuzzibuns, and Little Lambs in the past when she was very small but won't be buying the bigger sizes. Btw, these are the makes I'm trying to sell.

JennyPenny22 · 27/06/2009 08:04

Johnworf - Fleece wraps don't have the upkeep like wool does. Fleece you can just stick in the wash with your nappies! They come out practically dry too. I prefer them because they are so much softer so we don't get red marks on the legs/tummy. I also think they look a bit nicer under dresses too. As they are not "plasticy" like ME and the like.

johnworf · 27/06/2009 08:08

What makes of fleece wraps have you used and recommend?

twoclimbingboys · 27/06/2009 08:14

I am just bought a load of fleece wraps from Upsy Daisy and some from Wee Notions to go with the inners of the night nappies I also have from them.

I have also used Tots Bots and Stacinator with success. I have some of those for sale at the moment! Tots rainbow stripe is size 2 and 3, Stacinator in toddler size. My favourites are Upsy Daisy though to be honest - they are just lovely.

twoclimbingboys · 27/06/2009 08:21

My fitted nappy recommendations - my favourite are Upsy Daisy Soy (the fitted and night nappies) Of a day he wears triple cut minkee UD wraps with them which are stunning - a beach scene and a not air balloon scene. 2nd favourite - Wee Notions Northern Lights are slimmer and very absorbent but not fleece lined. Wee Notions Night Notions are the night version abd are fleece lined. 3rd favourite are probably bamboo sandys, they are just slow drying!

Pockets we use wonderoos - a fab fit on him but a little boring (these don't suit a lot of LOs). We have a couple of UD minkee side snap pockets which are lovely.

We used to mainly use itti bitti d'lish sanp in ones, but they didn't suit his body shape. He is chunky bummed and had lots of leaks in them. But they are really cute, little compact nappies.

johnworf · 27/06/2009 08:43

Thanks for those!

I'ved used the Sandy's in the first size (forgot that I had some of these to sell too). I actually got on very well with them but I'm a bit put off the sized nappies for the obvious reason that they grow out of them. Hence, I have all BTP at the mo.

I'm interested in the Itti Bitti ones though. Have looked at these in the past and will have another look.

JennyPenny22 · 27/06/2009 08:53

I agree that UD fleece wraps are the best - but tots bots are a cheaper option and work fine. I just found UD have much better patterns and much better fit/adjustable.

I want some more but Upsy Daisy have just closed their customs section . I will be keeping an eye out for second hand ones though. I prefer applix ones, especially as UD applix is super strong.

Octothechildherder · 27/06/2009 09:40

I have a size 3 tots spots fleece cover used if anyone interested. Still too big for DS!

ceb80 · 27/06/2009 11:03

Jenny not sure how much I want for the wrap, was going to chuck it in for free if someone wanted it and was buying something else.
It's cream, think the make is a bumpy wrap?
I've never used it but the previous owner said it was tatty but functional!
If you want it, say £3 incl postage and fees?

BaronConker · 27/06/2009 11:09

Octo - got the Pop n Grow this morning, conveniently just as I was putting on a load of nappies to wash! It's now drying in the sun. Thank you so much - first impressions are that it's lush, really lovely and soft and fluffy, and a brilliant bright yellow. Can't wait to put it on DS. Will let you know how it holds up to his super weeing!

Am interested in the Tots wrap - how much would you like for it?

foxytocin · 27/06/2009 13:31

Anyone knows anyone who is possibly interested in pre-loved Little Lambs? my set of size ones are up for sale.

i have gone back to work and now only use reusables on the weekend. I'm happy with flat nappies otherwise i'd still be using them.

these are in v. good condition.

treedelivery · 27/06/2009 18:19

Cream bb wrap landed today. I love it thank you 4

Thinking about Harriets Christening in October - what shall she wear???? This must be an oppurtunity to get a weenotions with some lovely embroidery. Surely?

johnworf - had a look at your profile pics. Beautiful family and the pics tell a story. DD2 is beautiful, as is dd1! I am finding totbots fleece lovely.

AM lanolising tonight - something new for me. Exciting! Am using lansinoh nipple cream to save £££.

johnworf · 27/06/2009 20:05

Thank you so very much tree

I have a full tube of lasinoh and never even thought of using it for lanolising wraps (didn't know you could use it for that). Not that I have any wool wraps...yet. I'm working up to getting one to try out. Tbh it's the lanolising part that puts me off although I think I could do it in the washing machine.

I've had a look at some stacinators today and am thinking about trying them out. Also saw the Tots Bots fleece wrap which looks lovely.

Can you recommend a couple of good websites that do the wool/fleece ranges? I usually go to Little Green Earthlets, Plushpants and Fill Your Pants but didn't see much on there.

Ta ladies.

twoclimbingboys · 27/06/2009 21:16

Johnworf - wool for little girls is fab. If Blake were a girl (yep, I do spend way too much time imagining him in girl's clothes and my whole family are moaning he needs a haircut as he now has little ringlets...) he would be spending the whole summer in skirties. I have just ordered Blake some boardies from Ali here. She makes skirties in 3 or 4 different styles - they have a built in wool soaker and are so cute. Ali is dyeing wool to match some cotton so that Blake can have board shorts with a matching summer hat. I just daren't tell DH the price - my overdraft can stretch to it (just) !

ceb80 · 27/06/2009 21:31

Quick question was there a special code for buying ittis on craftynclothy? ATM they are 12 pounds but thought theywere less than that?

JennyPenny22 · 27/06/2009 22:19

ceb - I think it was only a tempory offer but I might be wrong.

Does anybody have any really nice girly wraps for going under dresses? Was watching Elouise today in her pretty summer dress and although her wraps are OK they are not very light/summery or even very girly in some cases! Preferably in Large but could be medium too (for Talia).

4andnotout · 27/06/2009 22:35

Jenny-I have a mint green tiddlebums side snap large wrap with floral embroidery on bum, there is one faulty snap on one side but plenty of others that work £3.50 posted.
