WooHoo! I got here first!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 22/10/2008 22:47

Hi all, I've finally regained my composure after yesterday's exploits, thanks for all your kind posts ... pfb and all that

I received my Loveables yesterday and they are LUSH! I am in love more than with the Sandy's!! These have been pre-loved but are still in great condition and are soooo soft, I love them! I only got 4 even though she offered 8, I emailed this morning and she's only got 1 left, I'm really irritated! I'm now on a Loveables hunt but no one seems to be selling. It's the first time I've used a nippa as well and I've found it really easy, and it gives such a good fit as well.

BBM and any other nappy guru, could you take a look at my profile pics, there's pics of all my nappies, but please could you look at the close up of the Loveable - you can see the marks left on her legs from the wrap, is this normal or have I got it on too tight? I don't quite understand it because there's a gap at the back of each leg but she still gets marks, but if I did it on the largest setting the gap is just massive and I can't imagine it would be effective at all.

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 22/10/2008 22:49

Hmm, I've just looked at my profile pics and they're a lot smaller than the originals so you can't see very well, but maybe you might be able to pass judgement anyway.

lollipop - you make me wanna try one...

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 23/10/2008 10:27

lollipop - you could always try the next setting down on your wraps - if it doesn't leak then you'll be fine. I'm surprised how much of a gap there can be with the airflow - when they are little and spend a lot of time on their back you can often get away with s huge gap. My DS got those marks when he used to spend all day with his legs in the air (don't ask! he seemed to be having fun though ) I'd put a wanted on ukpl for your loveables - you'll probably get lucky there after a few days .

babyjjbaby · 23/10/2008 21:19

where is every1 today

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 23/10/2008 21:49

maybe it's wash day?

I'm here (as always ) - I'm knackered! Wish DS would finish feeding so I can go to bed. The only thing keeping me awake is making non-sensical posts all over MN!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 21:59

I'm here as well, lurking away.

had a bit more of a show today so things are loosening up, but I know it can be weeks yet.

babyjjbaby · 23/10/2008 22:07

i reckon the napies would of dried on the line today but didn't do them

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 23/10/2008 22:09

You still got that hospital bag packed Lacks? That'll be what is causing the hold-up

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 22:13

hospital bag....me, no!

Am only 38 weeks though so there's time yet! DH and DS are away fishing this weekend so bubs better just hang on until next week!

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 23/10/2008 22:30

Oh fishing sounds fun - I'd be going with them!

I'm taking little night-owl DS to bed - how a boy can feed this much and still not put on weight is beyond me

LackaDAISYcal · 23/10/2008 22:53

I would but DD is uncontainable at the minute so I always end up looking after her and not being allowed able to fish. And tbh, coarse fishing isn't really my thing, big fat ugly carp that need to be thrown back in and has probably been hooked for the 10th time that day.

I like to eat the fish I catch

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 24/10/2008 08:39

BBM How is your LO that fell down the stairs?

I hunted for 2nd hand Loveables all day yesterday but couldn't find a single one . On the other hand, I've found someone who is selling new for £6 which includes the insert, which is the cheapest I've found so far .... really not sure I should be buying them new but I suppose I could stretch to a couple

FullMoonHowler · 24/10/2008 09:46

morning all... hope those pop-ins arrive soon, finally ordered them, cos I hate running out of reusables... DD has had a couple of very eplosive days, so nearly all the nappies are in the wash now (a part for 4 terries, which I still haven't mastered and poo came all up the back again! pity, cos I really like DD in them, she looks like the baby from the fairy liquid, and they're so soft still, well they're new so...). But that's it, no more nappy buying, just selling, now (when I get my act together). Sending my xs sandy's off to italy now, so at least they do another baby, pity I won't meet him til next year ...

well, let's see if I can make myself a coffee before the milk vampire awakes

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 24/10/2008 09:58

Lacks I love carp -sooooooooocute . I am trying to get DH to go fishing for Sea Bass and Mackerel - the DDs love fresh mackerel - it's not as if we have far to go either!

lollipop - Oh she's fine! Thanks for asking . She's a stunt girl in the making for sure. I don't know how she does it, we have an old cottage and the stairs are really steep (no space for a stairgate - don't ask!) so it is quite a fall directly into stone wall. She landed om the top of her head with her neck at a very odd angle but didn't even get a lump on her head . DD1 was traumatised seeing it though and the best bit was it stopped them fighting for the rest of the day. I've had a look for loveables on my travels but only found size 2s - have you thought about putting a wanted on UKPL?

howler - I hope you got your coffee. My milk raptor has decided to wake up at 5 - 5.30 every morning, he doesn't sleep all day then he's a grump-monster from 4pm until the DDs are in bed (still don't want hom to grow up just yet though )

FullMoonHowler · 24/10/2008 10:24

BBM yes, half way through it, thanks, she's still sleeping in her vibrating bouncer (only thing that works s.times), so giving her a bit longer, so that I can reply to some e-mails... was hoping to have a good night last night - DP slept on the sofa as he had a big day at work - so had her in bed with me, and thought I would have had some space, but she decided that she had to be on my arm all night to sleep, so was again sleeping on the edge of the bed with baby sleeping on my bad arm which will result in blocked neck ad back (re-occurring problem which tend to happen every 12-18 months, so it's now due ...) but as hard as it is, it's so lovely sleeping with her - guess knowing she's my last baby makes me appreciate every moment more...

returnofrusmummy · 24/10/2008 11:11

morning all..

not having any luck with m airflows.

found another one i like.. kissaluv??? a mn sent me one. 12hrs no leak!!!

babyjjbaby · 24/10/2008 13:05

omg 3.90 for a obaby where do u live lo i will be moving there my tots bots arrived have washed them in ariel and napisan on a 60 still stained so hung them on big line in the hope it will bleach stains out better than being on rotary line

returnofrusmummy · 24/10/2008 13:30

good luck with stains. Have cleaned pram up and looks like new. LOL Very pretty!!

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 24/10/2008 15:31

BBM Jesus Christ, I think i'd be traumatised as well! Could you not get your DH to knock something together as a safety gate? Mind you, I bet your DD won't be doing that again in a hurry even if she didn't get a bumpy head!

About the Loveables - I did think of doing a UKPL wanted ad but I just can't be arsed, it'd mean I'd end up having to buy them and I think I might just go for the new ones, at least it'll mean I don't buy too many so my DP probably won't even notice the extras! I feel a bit guilty buying nappies now because I know I've got more than I need.

lollipopmothershalloweenghost · 24/10/2008 15:35

Oh, I've decided that I dislike velcro nappies with a passion, all they ever do is get stuck on everything in the wash even if I fold the tabs down, and they've very stiff and bulky over the tummy as well.

I've also got reservations over my Bumhuggers, twice now I've had leg-leaks, only onto the wrap but it's still a pain. I don't seem to be able to do the legs up enough because it's already tight enough around the tummy iykwim. Also, the old style are grim I think, much prefer the new style because on the old the insert seems to go all hard and doesn't lie flat.

babyjjbaby · 24/10/2008 16:02

fingers crossed i think the stains have come out of tots bots had a quick look when i put washing on line

Debs75 · 24/10/2008 16:06

ordered some paper liners for my little lamb nappies and they are huge. can i cut them down so they are the same size as the washable ones, they will last longer this way

babyjjbaby · 24/10/2008 16:12

yeh i often do that
