ScaryDaisy - I agree with BBMIHH - I'm sure that packed bags and ready cribs delay the whole thing...

mmm, have to come up with scary name now...

got some used bamboo squares, but don't feel as soft as I expected, how can I soften them?

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 12/10/2008 21:43

are they new Sunflower?

sunflower78 · 12/10/2008 21:53

no, secondhand. washed them today adding vinegar to last rinse, line dried (why couldn't we get this weather in augus!?) and tumbled for 10 mins when they were nearly dry, but no much difference.

Oh dear . I wonder if they have been 'cooked' on a radiator. Bamboo can go crunchy if you put it on a radiator to dry. Nothing will soften them if they have been

When it starts to rain again you could try leaving them out in that - softens them up too and works well on thin fabrics like squares IME.

sunflower78 · 12/10/2008 22:08

thanks, will try them tomorrow on DD and see how they are, otherwise I'll use them on changing table and to make doll's nappy (DS is very crossed "his baby" still hasn't got a nappy like his baby sister's....)

babyjjbaby · 13/10/2008 08:04

babyjjbaby · 13/10/2008 15:16

i paid £19 for 10 of them

lollipopmother · 13/10/2008 15:39

Has anyone tried the Nature Babies Loveables? They look quite nice.

My brand new Ella's House Bumhuggers came today, they are soooo much nicer than the second hand one I've got which has gone quite hard and lumpy. I'm now going to start the very long process of pre-washing!

I've been trying to think of a scary name but lollipops really aren't that scary!

rusmum · 13/10/2008 15:50

what about rusMUMMY

isaidno · 13/10/2008 15:55

I've got 2 lovables and they are very lovable! Generous sizing, but lots of velcro so will also go quite small. They are stuffable but I find they are absorbent enough without anything in the pocket. Dry a bit quicker than my other bamboo nappies too.

sunflower78 · 13/10/2008 17:05

baby finally fits in her new small sandys( she's growing sooooo fast) , still with xs airflow though... i think the xs will only last this week, her thighs are getting plumper. lollipop - do you still want them, don't know how long you'd use them for, but if you want them you can contact me, I've finally joined the FB sept group.

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 13/10/2008 19:41

babyjj - I'd say about £8 -10 they are around £2.10 new so that would be a good saving

babyjjbaby · 13/10/2008 19:54

right i'll put them on for £10 plus post then they are to bulky for him and take to long to dry

ilovemydog · 13/10/2008 20:07

BBM hmph! You didn't wake up at 3:30am. You were already awake probably!

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 13/10/2008 20:16
  • ILMD - I think I'm on an all-nighter tonight - babyDS has caught his sisters' nasty cough. I will reply to you honest, I'm just waiting until I am less brain dead! What were you up to at 3.30?
rusmum · 13/10/2008 20:19

I was feeding at 330!!! DD2 also has a cough caught from DD1!!!!

GREAT!!!!

4andnotout · 13/10/2008 20:23

Hi everyone, well i have decided to re sell my pop in, i bought it from here a couple of weeks ago but it just doesn't suit dd3 at all Going to thin the stash a bit, im loving my new flexi tots, had to tumble dry them for the last 10 minutes today and they came up beautiful and soft! Think i will sell my berry plush too as she pees right through them
My bamboo nappies arrived and im pleased with them, i think i will probably dye them as they have a few stains. I dont know how long my super wee'er will stay dry in them but they are nippa mostly so dd4 might fit into them fairly soon (if she ever arrives that is!)

ilovemydog · 13/10/2008 20:33

At 3:30? DD is having nightmares (after car crash) so she wakes up DS and it continued until about 6:30, when I got annoyed and made coffee.

Think I also chucked in a load of nappies into the washing machine. Am loving having a washing machine and not going to the laundromat! Although the one in Pwhelli wasn't too bad. Some of the locals were a bit, um, geographically challenged.

One asked me where I lived, and I said, 'Bristol, have you ever visited?' She said, 'no, I don't go places where you have to fly...'

Essie3 · 13/10/2008 20:40

Crunchy bamboo - mine are dried next to the radiator, will this make them crunchy? I was told (by Modern Baby) that they would be ok dried on the rad, and that a tumble dry would soften them again.
They got quite stiff on the line outside in London - it's hotter there!

Is crunchy v. bad for nappies/baby?
