love the plum hair! i reckon a trip to the hairdresser would cheer me up too!

anyway, thank you for the words of sympathy... we'll see what the night brings!

Skimty · 14/09/2008 21:01

Hi

Can I join you? I'm 39weeks pregnant with no2 and DS (Sam) has just turned 2 so unless this one stays in for a year (which I feel it may do!!) I guess I qualify

Will sign back in when I have baby.

Chaotica · 14/09/2008 21:30

Hi Skimty and welcome . And good luck with the painful bit birth as well.

Maybe I should just put DS in DD's room then (although not tonight!) -- Better wait a little anyway as he has a nasty cold right now.

For those of you whose DC's share: How do you deal with the older one getting in the LO's cot though? Or do you? I have a feeling that DD will probably want to join DS and that might be a problem...

Hi and welcome Skimty, good luck with the next part!

Thanks for the hug Chaotica I am a bit stressed!

Beforesunrise - my 2 aren't very good sleepers either. DS1 has finally settled down now (he's almost 2) but still wakes sometimes just crying for mummy (but I guess that's normal-ish?). DS2 (5 months) is a pain in the bum and wakes at least once every night, and has milk then usually goes back down, but he refuses to sleep for more than half an hour at a time during the day Drives me crazy as then he's all grumpy and keeps crying and rubbing his eyes!
We still have DS2 in our room but I'd love to get rid of him into Zak's room, just can't risk it yet as he does tend to wake Zak up with his noiseyness.

Simpson - your DS's party sounds great, bet he had a nice time

Grrl hope you enjoyed the Jelly Tots

Cazwa, Poor DD, hope you got a better nights sleep

Cazwa · 14/09/2008 23:26

Oh FFS my bloody coil is falling out tonight. DEAR GOD DONT LET ME BE PREGNANT!

Kaybeeand2boys · 15/09/2008 22:18

Oh Cazwa

Chaotica · 16/09/2008 01:01

Oh no, Cazwa. My fingers are crossed for you (which makes typing difficult so I'll go to bed instead).

Good night, all.

TattooedGrrrl · 16/09/2008 13:34

Fingers crossed for you Cazwa!

I feel like crap today- both boys are full of snot, and now i am too, complete with sore throat, popping ears and an itchy eye

OP posts:
Chaotica · 16/09/2008 16:34

Sorry to hear it, Grrrl.

DS is just getting over a cold which left me stuck in yesterday when I could have been out having fun (or taking him swimming, at least - his new favourite passtime). And just has he seems to be getting better, DD is beginning to moan, whinge and sneeze more than normal, so I have a horrible feeling where this is going.

Illness aside, Connor is marching towards toddlerdom (with the aid of a walker) and has started having little tantrums when I take him away from something he likes doing. He is also a cupboard-emptier ... We've only just really got over it with DD (I grew used to the kitchen floor being covered in stuff and having whole drawers dedicated to that-which-can-be-chucked-on-the-floor-without-disaster) and some friends declared that it was a "girl thing"... Not around here it ain't

Chaotica · 17/09/2008 18:26

Afternoon, Ladies.

Cazwa - any news on the coil?
I just had one fitted (last stop before I send DP for the snip, I think, although I've been getting unaccountably broody ) (why???)

Hope everyone is coping (especially with the snot and spots), even enjoying life. I'm beginning to wonder how I'll deal with anything once I'm back to work full time...

Cazwa · 17/09/2008 21:34

Im not pregnant . However I have a HIGHLY embarrassing story to share with you (why does stuff like this always happen to me?). I had a shower a couple of nights ago and felt what I thought was an inch long bit of wire come away, so i immediately thought it was my coil dislodging and it must be part of the threads. It felt a bit weird and i got some cramps, plus felt sick with sore boobs , presumed I must be pregnant so i rushed off to our local sexual health clinic. Turns out it was a bit of grass...

God only knows how it got there, its not even like Ive done it outside for at least 10 years

They said the coil was fitted fine, so I presume Im not pregnant. Think I was having a phantom pregnancy.

So, deep breath, back to normality here. Stella is over pox and was back in nursery today thank god. Had a lovely time at work with adult conversation and shopping at lunchtime. Such a contrast to screaming tantrums and whinging over the past week. No sign of pox on Billy yet but is no doubt imminent.

Chaotica - you asked about sharing a room - we just started this recently. Oldest is in a cot and youngest in a bed! The bed was meant for Stella but she wouldnt stay in it so gave up but never took it down (took so bloody long to put it together I couldnt face asking DH to dismantle). She cant get out of her cot and I plan to keep them like that for a long while.

Well this is an essay, hope everyone is well. Stella didnt sleep through consistently till she was at least 1.5 if thats any consolation, and DS till 6mo.

Kaybeeand2boys · 17/09/2008 22:29

ha ha ha grass! How bizarre! Maybe came in from washing hanging outside?

Chaotica · 17/09/2008 22:42

Grass?? ROFL

(I once heard about someone whose gynaecologist found a postage stamp in an unusual position...) (the explanation involved her using a hanky out of her handbag as toilet paper, so I can believe the grass got there somehow )

simpson · 17/09/2008 23:53

Caswa - LOL so fecking much I have sloshed wine all over keyboard, what a waste!!!

I need a good fecking laugh I can tell you. Have left DH don't know for how long for and am at my mum's with Dcs. DH not in a good place ATM probably having a breakdown, need to get him support but cannot see him ATM.

Will try and get on as much as I can, need humour right now and caswa has made me laugh for the first time in 2 days, cheers

Can I ask do you have ANY idea how grass got there? Ie play fighting with Dcs (just out of interest you understand!!)

Hi to everyone else (waves!!)

Chaotica · 18/09/2008 16:11

Simpson - that sounds shite. I hope you and the DCs are alright and your mum's being supportive. If you want to talk on here, I'm sure we'll listen. (On the other hand, if you want to ignore it on here and laugh at Cazwa's stories, that's fine too.)

Just went to playgroup where DS made the most of messy play (and slung wet spagetti around the room) and DD experimented with xtreme sports on a tricycle... The accident book was filling up this week and I'm amazed my two weren't in it. DS did split his lip in a nasty walker accident earlier though .

But what's that I hear?? ...Nothing! I must go and do something other than sit reading mn - they're both napping! (But who knows for how long...)

Cazwa · 18/09/2008 20:58

Oh Simpson, Im really sorry to hear that. I prescribe more wine and coming on here for support at the very least. Is DH getting any help? Is it possible to have sympathy for him or is he being a fecking w*nker?

Hopefully something ridiculous will happen to me soon to cheer you up. Actually I have a whole back catalogue of embarrassment that my friends all wrote down for my hen night for me to read out

Wheres Jewels these days??

TattooedGrrrl · 19/09/2008 05:29

Sorry to hear you're having a tough time Simpson. I'm here for you too...well, as much as a woman you don't know on the internet can be!

Cazwa- i don't know what to say about the grass

Dylan slept until 4.30am this morning , then i gave him some milk, and he went back to sleep on his own! George is continuing his getting up before 5am so i'm up with him now, but i've told DH we have to stop letting him do what he likes in the morning- yesterday DH got up with him, the 1st thing he asked for was ham and Bob Builder DVD! So it's no food or kids TV until after 6am from now on...he's watching Sky News, and he's asked for food couple of times, but i've said no. And DH is much better, stitches are out. He's achey but healing, still off work.

That's about it i think

Kaybeeand2boys · 19/09/2008 08:58

Sorry to hear about your DH simpson, hope it all works out ok

Grrrl at your pre 5am wake ups!

Boring day today, I have to wait in to get some dining chairs delivered. Hope they come this morning, I hate being stuck at home all day!

Still have my head in the sand about getting organised to move, think I might have to post on the good housekeeping thread to get a kick up the backside

beforesunrise · 19/09/2008 14:37

cazwa, the grass story is simply phenomenal! love it! i once when to a&e at 6 in the monrning because i was convinced i had forgotten to remove my tampon and it somehow got lost inside me!

simpson, i am so sorry about your dh, i hope things get better soon.

not many news from me, both dds napping and i am on mn- what is wrong with me???? i am shattered and should be in bed.

dd1 starting nursery next week at the incredibly inconvenient time of 1.45-3.30... dreading it a bit.

Chaotica · 19/09/2008 18:33

I did so much today to exhaust my children. But would they nap?? No! Neither of them! They're just tired and stroppy instead. (And I am exhausted and need a nap/teabreak/moment alone hiding in the garden )

Chaotica · 19/09/2008 18:34

Please note: the at the end of that post is because I'm now entirely deranged...

justkeepswimming · 19/09/2008 21:08

oh am soooo out of touch!

lol re grass story....i too have seen a nurse about suspected lost tampon - was nothing there

boys being good, ds1 particularly. though we have given up on attempting nap after lunch.

ds2 still erratic at night;
tues - 3 resettles, no feeds
wed - slept through
thurs - 2 feeds

knackered, need a LONG stretch of sleep ( i drank too much wed night with other mums so was up in the night thirsty & needing loo, great).

having some good weather here so beach yest, park today. no plans as yet for weekend, you guys?

DontlookatmeImshy · 19/09/2008 21:58

Hello. I join this months ago but could never keep up. Anyway this seems like a good place to start for asking advice on bedtime routines. Would be interesed in your comments here

TattooedGrrrl · 20/09/2008 08:51

My DH liked the grass story aswell...sorry!

Will check your link later don'tlookatme- am in work at the moment.

Sleep update: George stayed in bed until 5.15am, a 30min improvement! Dyl woke once at stayed in bed a good hour later than George did.

Ordered new windows for the house, and new dishwasher and cooker too. To balance out the responsibility, i also ordered some amazing tshirts from topshop (wonder woman, batman etc!), an i-pod nano and have booked to finish my tattoo Sold some shares from work, so i am temporarily rich (most of it is going on the kitchen and utility room though!)

Taking the kids to my mates Sunday- he has no kids, so that should be fun!!

Hope you're all good, you too jewels, where ever you are!

Morning, Ladies

I'm just entertaining refereeing the DCs while DP has a lie in. They're playing with balloons at the moment (which is bound to end in tears - there's a crucial (and loud) thing about balloons which they don't know).

Grrrl - glad to hear you've taken on Jewels' shopping mantel (sp??) - where is she anyway?? Sounds like you've bought some cool stuff. I tried to buy a Pingu teashirt the other but it didn't look right (and not because it had Pingu on it )
