Baby Preston Davey - Content warning concerns CSA (added by MNHQ)

I’ve just read about baby Preston Davey and I cannot stop thinking about him. I have a 13-month-old of my own, which is probably why this has hit me so hard — I can really relate and my baby is my everything.
I’m crying as I write this. Why does it hurt so much for a baby I’ve never even met? Has anyone else felt this way?
How do you cope with the negative thoughts that follow when you read something like this? 💙

Thank God for that.

Rest in peace Preston x

Absolute deranged scum. God bless poor Preston ❤️

Thank God. Poor baby.

Daily Mail says Varley was sick in the dock when the verdicts were delivered.

I hope he suffers every day for the rest of his life, and I hope his life is long.

Rest in Peace Preston Justice has been done today.

followtheswallow · 15/06/2026 16:11

I hope this thread doesn’t turn into celebratory comments about wanting them hurt and to suffer.

If justice has been done then the loss of their liberty is the punishment; we don’t need anything else.

Colinswife · 15/06/2026 16:15

There's a lot of people who want them to hurt and suffer, myself included, for what they did to poor little Preston.

Threeslothsontheshirt · 15/06/2026 16:17

Dh is a former prison officer. He said they won’t last five minutes in jail

I agree with this. And not just for the sake of prisoners but also the prison officers who are put in harm’s way themselves when prisons are so violent. A friend’s brother has been out of work for a couple of months after a serious injury and he’s considering not returning at all.

I do want them to suffer, but I don’t want violence or an eye for an eye. That helps nobody, least of all prison staff, and makes us no better than them.

My comment was after his “shock” and being sick in the dock. I want him to feel like that for the rest of his life; I want him to feel physically sick, and for his mind to never be peaceful.

Unfortunately, it looks like it is going that way. This happens a lot on MN; it’s as if people replying with more and more extreme things they’d like to happen to them in jail (doled out by another individual with an impeccable record who is just a victim of circumstance of course 😐) think that makes them a good person with strong morals.

It’s horrible to read, tbh. I really think it should be against TGs.

Colinswife · 15/06/2026 16:27

After what they did I hope they live every single day in fear of prison attacks, just like that poor baby must have lived in fear of what those monsters were going to do next to him.

gingeristhenewblack43 · 15/06/2026 16:33

Sleep easy Preston. I’m glad the jury came to the right decision.

Sadmamma35 · 15/06/2026 16:43

No one should suffer, but I hope this verdict prevents people from doing it and helps protect children more

"No one should suffer" I'm assuming you mean the two monsters that have just been found guilty? Have you read what they put him through during the last 4 months of his short life? I don't want to hear that they are in prison, taking educational courses, doing crafts, joining chess clubs or whatever. I hope they suffer every single day for the rest of their lives!

Nothing will ever bring this beautiful baby back. My heart just is not hateful in that way. When I look at people like this, I also think of them as once being babies themselves. What they did was horrific and unforgivable, but they were clearly deeply sick people and should have been treated long before it ever got to this point.

Jury excused from ever having to serve again. Poor sods having to watch those videos then listen to the sassy gay dad shite this noxious pair of perverts have been spouting all this time.

Glad to see the pair of them going all the way down. Poor Preston would have been 4 tomorrow.

TeaAndStrumpets · 15/06/2026 17:02

The Times online has the result on the front page but they have been very quick to disable comments.

Lifesyoungdream · 15/06/2026 17:02

It is just heartbreaking to think of all the people out looking to adopt who would have given Preston a fantastic life instead he got two evil monsters I’m glad Preston had a few months of love and care from his foster parents.

I’ve followed the trial from the start, but more violence won’t bring Preston back or take away his suffering. What it will do is add to the already violent prison system, which in turn will make prisons even worse for those who live in them so when they’re released all they’ve learned is how to become better criminals, as well as injuring prison officers who have to break up any fights and make working conditions worse for a profession already in a recruitment and retention crisis. It’s never politically popular which is why prisons are in the shape they’re in, but such conditions in prison don’t help anyone in society for it to be this way.

Colinswife · 15/06/2026 17:07

@Sadmamma35the only hate I have in my heart is for them. They were adult men when they did this, not babies. Everyone was a baby at one time, they don't deserve your pity, that should be reserved for Preston and only Preston. Yes, they are sick, sick and evil. I live near to where this happened and I also adopted a little boy many years ago. I don't know how they fooled social services, hospital staff etc. There are a lot of people who should be made to answer some very serious questions but, ultimately, it was the fault of these two monsters that poor little Preston was murdered. I make no apologies for hoping that every day of the rest of their miserable lives is absolute hell.

Holidayhooha · 15/06/2026 17:19

Horrendous and heartbreaking . Not loving the hypocrisy of the birth family’s outrage when the mother herself tortured a pensioner to death. Poor baby failed by so many of the people in his short life.
