Hello, I was just thinking, by the end of the summer they're going to be so big, I feel like kids change so much between 2 and 2.5. Also happy birthday to all the other Feb babies x

Sunshineclouds11 · 22/02/2026 18:28

My already school mum head, 2 years and they start school 😭

CheeseAndCrackersx · 24/02/2026 11:10

Little man is changing everyday, saying or doing new things 😃 he’s such a little character too 😀

those few days of no naps did wonders also, he now wakes about 8-8:30 naps about 1:30 for hour & 20 mins then he’s in bed for 8:30 & falls asleep better and sleeps through 😀

the only thing i have 0 clue about is if the last of teeth have cut cos he doesn’t let me look 😆

He's sleeping good!

im also trying to check for back teeth, her fingers have been going in last week or two so their either on their way or cutting.
trying to get to say 'ah' like the doctor but she just giggles 🙈

Cheetocat · 26/02/2026 16:28

Mine has three molars all at different stages of eruption and one that hasn't started coming up yet!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 03/03/2026 21:23

Hit a bit of a wall with sleep again, he’s taking so long to settle for nap and bed, and naps are so short at the minute too. Today’s was 35 mins after taking 30 mins to settle 🙈 I don’t wanna assume he’s ready to drop it and it’s not like he’s crying or anything in his cot just dunno what’s changed all of a sudden

Anyone else stopped breastfeeding recently? The hormone drop is absolutely crazy, I cannot sleep no matter how hard I try!

DmcinT · 04/04/2026 09:24

@Cheetocat We are on day 12 of no breastfeeding, I haven’t had it yet I don’t think, when did urs hit and what was ur symptoms?

Sunshineclouds11 · 04/04/2026 20:56

Anyone else potty training?

Havanalily1806 · 04/04/2026 21:07

@Sunshineclouds11

ive tried to start these last 2 days- but ready to give up and try again in a couple of months 😅

she’s being rather difficult. Has been dry over night for a while, has a bladder of steel and will hold wees in rather than wee on the toilet or potty.
last 2 days had nothing on her bottom half, she knows when she needs a wee, runs off, says she wants a wee wee, asks for a nappy on, pulls at her bum, sits on the potty or toilet but will not let herself wee. Eventually like an hour later she wees and I’ll then put her on the potty or toilet whichever is closer and she is so pleased with herself, celebrates, asks to put it in the toilet. It’s so strange.

poos.. well she only poos after a “poo run” I know exactly when she needs one and so does she but she will not poo sat down or still so that’s been fun 😅

Sunshineclouds11 · 04/04/2026 21:12

@Havanalily1806its been 2 days for us also!

being dry over night is amazing! I bet your knackered 😂 it is hard work. I'm sick of saying do you need a wee wee and she's getting sick of me asking by the side eyes I'm getting.

naked bottom half, doing wee's on potty fine, no poo's yet.
I took her to park this afternoon with potty in hand after a good run of no accidents to get fresh air as were no good being stuck in all day and accident x3.
Came home and she went on for another wee.

she's back to nursery Tuesday and I'm abit nervous tbh as she's going to be so distracted I feel she's just going to have accident after accident.

Around day 7 it started for me. I just feel insane, really irritable, can't sleep and I'm exhausted. I even took a melatonin and still didn't fall asleep. On the plus side, I'm not as hungry and my son is coping extremely well without it which worried me the most. He still asks most nights but I just say "all gone".

We're part time potty training, I let him go pantless around 2 hours a day, we have a potty and a toilet reducer, he's done pees on both. He has done a lot of independent pees on the potty but can't do the toilet without a lot of support. He knocked his buggy down the other day and peed all over it 😂 Whole thing had to go in the wash. Anything is a huge win for us, we weren't sure he'd have feeling in his bladder and he does!! He's thriving with one kidney too ❤️

mp2024 · 05/04/2026 15:15

I just love that a few of us had the same thought to potty train over the long bank hol!
Day 3 for us, I miss nappies and I’m sick of
also asking if she needs a wee all day long!
She pees every 10-15 mins which is exhausting but doing pretty well. Had a few poos but they seem to freak her out and she tries to jump off the toilet asap.
Dreading Tuesday and a 30m journey to nursery - will need to put something down in the car seat as the whole journey is motorway/traffic so won’t be able to safely stop 🫠🫠

Sunshineclouds11 · 05/04/2026 15:32

@mp2024Had our first poo on potty today (day3) she was freaked out also!
have you kept her naked on the bottom?
im abit scared to put pants on on Tuesday 🤣

We did bare bum for 3 days and then started pants (as she peed when she had pants on at first). that’s worked well and no accidents for two days!

Though now we have poo refusal and complaints of
tummy hurting. Lots of awful farts too, she deffo needs a poo. No idea how to handle this, I’m scared she’ll become constipated :(

Sunshineclouds11 · 06/04/2026 16:55

@mp2024weve literally just had a second poo.
not massive, she's on movicol so normally twice a day atleast so there's deffo some holding.
I don't know best approach for it either tbh, going to ask nursery tomorrow.

mp2024 · 06/04/2026 21:35

@Sunshineclouds11 hopefully movicol helps!
My intense googling today recommended putting a nappy on and letting them poo in it - then showing them that poo going into the toilet. Other tips were to make them poo in the nappy whilst standing in the bathroom so they still associate it with the toilet.

I did try (and also bribed with some chocolate) but no poo and continued tummy complaints 😢 Hoping for poos all round tomorrow!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 07/04/2026 15:00

Hi ladies, hope you all had a lovely Easter.
amazing to see some of you attempting potty training, that’s my plan for the summer.

Im in a bit of a pickle tbh, so here in wales we have a thing called flying start, and that means from just after 2nd birthday child can go to like a play group up to 5 times a week.
Little man can start next week but I’m honestly in 2 minds about sending him because he’s pretty always just with me or his dad say if I went to the gym, and a couple of times my mum looked after him when he was younger so I went for a haircut etc but yeah anyway he’s very much all me & his dad and doesn’t like us going out of sight in a strange place. And sometimes he gets so upset he ends up being sick and I’m just so scared he’s gonna fall apart next week if we took him and of course I don’t want him in that state where he’s sick. But then I don’t want to be seen as I’m holding him back either.

he's so clever (not trumping my own horn here) & knows so much already so it’s not like he’s lacking that side of things.

i guess it all comes down to the fact i don’t want anyone else comforting him when he’s upset 🙈 he is my baby after all

Sunshineclouds11 · 07/04/2026 15:10

@CheeseAndCrackersxDo they do settling in sessions like nursery?
would he have to do the 5 days? Can you start small and build up?

Totally normal to feel like that honestly, I hated the thought of someone seeing to her when I wasn't there but she's made great relationships with the nursery staff and has made some lovely little friends.

OneMoreCoffee3 · 07/04/2026 19:12

We started potty training a few months ago but have always done trousers off at home since she can walk so it’s not quite the all-in experience. She’s inconsistent and I actually gave myself a break over the weekend and put her in pull-ups to reduce my load a little. Still breastfeeding here and 30 weeks pregnant, I think it’s likely I’ll end up tandem feeding which will be a new experience

Sunshineclouds11 · 07/04/2026 20:09

@OneMoreCoffee3 Still young really aren’t they, I wasn’t planning on doing it start of summer but she unexpectedly done a wee on the toilet the other day so I took the opportunity.

Ee not long to go! Do you know what you’re having?

OneMoreCoffee3 · 08/04/2026 06:06

@Sunshineclouds11 no we don’t know, I’m feeling boy. We already have a boy and two girls. I agree they are just babies still, I thought it would be handy to have her fully potty trained before the baby came but what will be will be, she’s still not quite there. Very reliable at home with no bottoms on though

@CheeseAndCrackersx I don’t think I’d like full-time at this age either, my LO is 3 days a week at the moment due to both of us working full-time and trying to juggle keeping her out of nursery as much as possible. I’m considering removing her whilst on maternity leave but waiting to see what sort of baby I get first. If this one is as unsettled as my last I’ll need the support of nursery! My first two I had together whilst I was off but they were in school before I had number three

CheeseAndCrackersx · 17/04/2026 09:43

I think I was worrying for nothing ladies. 2nd morning drop off today and he went in no bother once again, he actually was eager to get in both times 🙂 proud mummy 🥹🩵

edited to add he’s going 3 mornings a week 🙂
