Had anyone flown at night with their little one? Going to see my family next month and I'm really scared of flying with a 2 year old 😂 I really hope he sleeps!!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 13/06/2026 11:08

So he lasted well yesterday, got tired about 6:45. Began bed routine & Fell asleep within 5 mins at 7:35. Woke at 8:35 today. slept 13 hours straight 😀
So do we do no nap again today?

I moved my son's bedtime earlier once he dropped his nap, I tried going a whole hour earlier and he was sleeping 12.5 hours consistently so I'd try that if it's convenient for you! As time has passed and he's gotten used to not napping and doesn't fall asleep as quickly at night but he's still usually out by around 7:30. His bedtime when he napped was 8pm for about a year and that feels really late now.

Do you still give him quiet time in bed in the day? Like just for books or whatever 😊

Edited

No but I do want to implement that, I just want to get to a point where he understands what is going on first and he is starting to understand what relaxing is which is very sweet!

Hi Ladies, any tips for potty training?
we’ve bought a potty and a pack of underpants ready 🙂
Just wondering what worked for you all? 🙂

@CheeseAndCrackersxGood luck!

I kept DD naked on bottom half for afew days before putting trousers on her.
i did try knickers but confused her thinking it was a nappy so i waited until she was confident.

don’t make any plans to go out for a good few days.

make a big song and dance when she does something, even just sitting on the potty.

i asked every 20 mins first couple of days and then started spreading it out.

i bought a carry potty, it was a god send when we started going back out, school run etc.

We had to pause potty training as he’s been unwell with a sickness bug.

but we’ve had other milestones this week instead, his cot is now a bed with a bed guard and he’s been sleeping so good in it 🙂 and he’s been sleeping well with a duvet for a few weeks now beforehand.

i did well up taking those cot sides off cos it’s like omg no more baby bed, it’s big boy bed 🥹

I wish I knew! My boy is so rebellious!

CheeseAndCrackersx · 04/08/2026 13:06

Those with a boy and potty training did you find he preferred to stand to wee? I’ve found telling him to sit hasn’t really worked but today he stood over his potty and wee’d for the first time in it and was a lot better

@CheeseAndCrackersxmy first is a boy and he sat for years! I think it’s just personal preference.

CheeseAndCrackersx · 04/08/2026 18:19

@Sunshineclouds11
he had a small poo in it crouching over it bless him. Just prefers to stand to wee which is fine. Bless him 😊 so proud of how today is going. 2 wees so far 😊

That’s good! How’s he getting on towards the end of the day?

my DD naps at nursery but won’t when off. She sometimes starts falling asleep from 1700 and I have to wake her up otherwise total danger zone
