So I have a 2 year old, I don’t let him go out with my husband alone it gives me anxiety he won’t take care of him properly he’s gone to the park with him now and when I very rarely let them go alone I have the worst thoughts of the worst happening to my DS. Is this normal?

Op do you let him go out with anyone else without you?

and are you under medical supervision for your mental health issues?

Iknowforsure1 · 10/09/2022 21:47

I do suffer from anxiety too, but I always trusted my DH. I also am always free to tell him openly what I find unsafe if our views differ and he always takes my view in consideration. What happened that you stopped trusting your DH?

Iknowforsure1 · 10/09/2022 21:53

Also please don’t listen to angry people. We may be anxious but that doesn’t mean we are mad. I never felt anxious about DH but his family I had nightmares about leaving children with them. They are good people but have different standards. They thought I was crazy for being so “overprotective” by refusing my children to their car with no car seats because “it’s just around the corner”.

Keep posting don’t let few idiots stop you. Anxiety is awful and when you have a baby even at 2 when they are still very vulnerable it can send your mind into overdrive. Like I said my daughter is older and I sometimes panic when she’s just at school. I can’t wait to get back and pick her up. I don’t want these thoughts I don’t choose them. Like I said it gets much easier and now sometimes I enjoy her going to her dads so I can completely relax. You Know it’s anxiety and it’s not a quick fix. Like said before don’t know why poster who feel no connection to where you are or what you are feeling bother to post. In all walks off life you
meet complete bastards. This is no different

I have a friend who co-sleeps with her four year old since birth (just mum and baby) and has never ever not gone to bed with the child including naps. Not a single meal out even. Feels her husband won't be good enough to parent. Posts on Facebook about what a wonderful father he is though. So you're not the only one OP.

Under those circumstances safe to say she will only be having the one child then 🤣

@DarceyG

Ahh, I think many people can relate to it a bit. Even those who don't generally suffer from anxiety . I think you just have to carry on with the therapy and hopefully over time it will get easier.

Mine go to Ireland in the holidays now as their dad moved over there and I feel anxious leading up to them going and sometimes while they're away, I just try to push the worry to the back of my mind . Although I don't generally suffer from anxiety

As a dad, my partner is currently going through this, what if she uses the reason that he’s breastfed so he will “need milk”.

i do so many tasks in the house like tidy up, help with bath time, run them around to activities when I’m not in work. And when I suggest I take him out just me and him to bond with him more and spoil him, she says no because of xyz.. it destroys me I just want time with my son.

Hey guys, it was just an anxiety phase didn’t last long. My son is now 5 and he loves to go out and about with his dad and loves spending time with him :)

I can imagine that is hard. How old is your LO @Kaiwnuttall?
