I think you are kidding yourself if you think that if you don't let them at 4 they won't want to at 14.

I won't be dyeing dd's hair, or painting her nails, because I have no intention of buying anything special for a 3 year old in the way of beauty products

But a dab of my lipgloss is neither here nor there IMO.

meandmyflyingmachine · 30/06/2007 15:20

Ah, x post with Enid

TrinityRhino · 30/06/2007 15:20

I posted to try and lighten the mood thinking that everyone knew that it wasn't a choice but I posted as if it was a choice and I was proud of it

but then the op said she had done her dd a grade 6 all over

so my post didn't have the desired effect and I felt the need to clarify cause I didn't want anyone thinking I had done it on purpose

yes I evenutally worked that out

how are your three rhino?

TrinityRhino · 30/06/2007 15:22

and it was a harsh buzz cut

dyeingchildshair · 30/06/2007 15:23

trinity, dont worry about shaving head. my neice has had hers done for the same reason as your daughter.

if you want i can send you a pic of the daughter with the grade 6 at age 2. it honeastly didnt look that bad. quite cute.

somedays i feel like shaving all their hair off when they come home with nits week after week.

TrinityRhino · 30/06/2007 15:23

dd1 might live to 8....not sure yet
dd2 isn't in the zslightest bit bothered about her hair but is a devil
and Gecko refusaes to sleep anywhere but on my chest today

dyeingchildshair · 30/06/2007 15:23

just remember hair grows trinity.

TrinityRhino · 30/06/2007 15:25

I keep getting comforting looks from people though cause she looks like a cancer victim
also the side she stripped isn't growing yet, she looks a mess

dyeingchildshair · 30/06/2007 15:25

i dont think grade 4 is harsh buzz cut btw.

TrinityRhino · 30/06/2007 15:25

it grows yes I know but I will find it hard to shave her every 4 weeks for 6 months

dyeingchildshair · 30/06/2007 15:25

will she keep a hat on?

my sister went through the same. lots of pitying stares and whispers.

dyeingchildshair · 30/06/2007 15:26

Can you CAT?

TrinityRhino · 30/06/2007 15:27

haven't paid to CAT sorry

she wears a hat sometimes but I don't want to force her and bring her attention to it
she's not bothered in the least which is great

TrinityRhino · 30/06/2007 15:28

sorry didn't mean to hijack your thread

dyeingchildshair · 30/06/2007 15:29

Professorfilthymindedvixen · 30/06/2007 15:30

Trinity, trendy bandanas?
(tye dye...???)

lisad123 · 30/06/2007 20:41

LOL at this post. My dd loves nothing more than having some glitter on her eyes if we are going to a party and nanny often paints her nails. I would dye her hair, because i think its beutiful but she did ask if she could have straight hair like mine last week. Answer was no, her hair is hard enough to manage as it is.
Its hardly child abuse is it, putting colour in her hair, properly had a lovely mummy/daugther day doing hair.
