Please help me think of some ideas of some fun things we can do. I seem to have a mental block at the moment and after breakfast in bed I have got a bit stuck.

DP has an iPhone case from DD1 (which turns ones iPhone into a sonic screwdriver) and a comic from DD2 (x-men). I am cooking steak and salad followed by chocolate brownies and ice cream. After lunch we are going to a local Green Fayre a friend's band are playing at for local beer in the sunshine. Hopefully.

scentednappyhag · 14/06/2012 18:09

Leaving DD with DH to sit in their PJs all day and eat chocolate while I go to the cemetery and then get drunk with my mum... It's her best friends two year anniversary on Sunday Sad

1stMrsF · 14/06/2012 18:09

Tea in bed for DH and then he will BBQ. Girls have made something at nursery and have bought cards and one of those art frames for him to display the hundreds of pictures they bring home.

DS will make him a card, then cup of tea, bacon sarnie and papers in bed followed by dropping him off for a hot towel shave and a massage while we mooch in the shops then collect him all relaxed and smooth.

TeaOneSugar · 14/06/2012 18:48

DH has been on a fishing holiday all week, so it's actually me that should be getting breakfast in bed and a lie in Grin.

He's getting a couple of presents, nothing expensive, and then I've booked a table at a nice pub for lunch.

HSMM · 14/06/2012 19:04

Breakfast in bed for DH. Then DH will drive DD and I to her audition. Then we'll faff around for a while and go for a curry for tea.

Lilyloo · 14/06/2012 19:22

Will let dc do breakfast in bed, which was toast and tea for me on mothers day.
Then dd's in their dancing show, will drop them for rehearsals, then have booked lunch for me dp, ds, my dad ,his partner and my sis.
Will then go to watch the girls in their show.
Looking forward to a lovely day.

03angels · 14/06/2012 19:34

Breakfast in bed, then me and our 3dds will air on bed whilst he opens his presents, it's also dd3s 7th birthday so we will be at her party most of afternoon, then I will treat him to a curry and a few beers on Sunday night- I don't know who's more excited dd3 or daddy Smile

DesperateHousewife21 · 14/06/2012 19:40

It's our first wedding anniversary on sun too so we'll do cards in the morn (we agreed no presents for either occasion) then my mum has offered to cook us a nice sun lunch as a kind of celebration so I'll also see my dad that day too so we've kind of rolled it all into one.

I'm really looking forward to it Smile

Mintyy · 14/06/2012 19:42

Dh is working. I'll probably make toad in the hole for dinner and the children will get him a card. Its just been our wedding anniversary and I bought him a present for that, so no way is he getting another random gift this week [curmudgeon emoticon].

youarekidding · 14/06/2012 19:46

Going to my Mum and Dads for a buffet 'tea'. It's also my sisters birthday and my brother is down for the weekend (in forces).

VinoEsmeralda · 14/06/2012 19:46

cup in tea in bed ( DDpainted a mug for him) then DS is making him a victoria sponge which the kids probably decorate together. Big roast for lunch and a lovely walk with the dog ( in the rain). They choose him an apron Grin! Our rule is the kids decide what they buy for us and we dont interfere...

Then hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows whilst watching a film at home.

FloraFinching · 14/06/2012 19:48

homemade cards, lie-in, cheapo book and CD for presents, then pub lunch.
after lunch normal service will be resumed, and DH will tackle the ironing.

cunexttuesonline · 14/06/2012 19:49

We are going out for tea when he gets up (he works nights) with his family. DS I have got him an eyemask that says 'shhh daddy's sleeping' on it, a t shirt and some sweets. Oh and we are going to bake him some cupcakes with daddy on them.

nannyl · 14/06/2012 19:51

its OH's first fathersday

he will be getting a card and lens cover for his camera

i would give him a lie in (as he gets DD up every morning and brings her to me at 7) but we are moving house next week, so actually what we will do is give baby to grandma and spend the day packing

3duracellbunnies · 14/06/2012 20:03

Breakfast in bed, and some sort of presents from children, need to sort that out Sat am as dd1 going for sleepover. Might try to get a wooden money box for them to decorate for him to put all the euros he amasses each time we go abroad. I will cook him a nice lunch and then watch the rain/ go swimming while trying to bite my lip and not remind him that he spent all of Mothers Day studying and the replacement mothers day didn't materialise; just as it didn't materialise the year before when he was ill

Lyftiduft · 14/06/2012 20:40

Brio here- DS/DH will have a new loco to play with. It looks a bit like a Freightliner so DH will be happy Hmm. DS has thrown paint at decorated a wooden box with me, and 'written' in a card. Also made a card I think at nursery. Not sure what we'll do other than that though, probably reseal and grout the shower!

PandaSpaniel · 14/06/2012 21:39

I have got him two personalised cards from Dogs doodahs as its his first fathers day and am buying him some shoes. Only making a fuss cos its his first with my DS2, normally he just gets a card from DS1 (his step son)

racingheart · 14/06/2012 21:42

Having my dad and mum over for Sunday lunch. Cooking DH's favourite food - on the BBQ if it's fine. Wine and a walk.

DC will make cards and cake and buy him some stuff for the garden.

bunnywhack · 14/06/2012 21:45

We are having FD saturday as he works sundays. Tried to convince him to go out for breakfast but he doesnt want to rush in the morning. Fair enough, but it means i have to do a fry up and im a bit shit at them, half of it ends up cold whilst the rest is all dried up in the oven.
Then presents got him slippers. a dvd and a big tin of allsorts. After that who knows? Probably another round of I'm bored/no its my turn on ... with a resounding chorus of Oh God why cant i just stay in my room on my own, from a pre-teen DD whose turning more Kevin by the second. You know a family day.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 14/06/2012 22:53

God knows. Blush He doesn't tend to expect anything other than a card for it, and always says it's a made-up holiday (which it is) but he does tend to arrange cards and flowers/chocolates or a cd that I want on Mother's Day, plus a meal out sometimes. I think we'll make him a chocolate cake and get him some obscure bottled beer - he'll like that. Smile

mumblecrumble · 14/06/2012 22:57

Homemade card, socks and some mint areo opened in bed.

Prob watch Tinkerbell film in bed...... While DH snoozes

Maybe go to the park....

Have sausages for lunch in homemade pasta, fruity jelly and icecream for afters.

Relax and play and snooze togetehr and when he gets up to do a job (loo seats and broken, garage needs cementing, etc - I am not able to do these!) I shall demand he leaves it till another day.

After DD goes to bed watch what he fancies...

Regular amounts of tellign him we love him throughout the day.
