Thank you fuzzpig!

Back to it tomorrow..... though I think the DCs might like it if there were fresh cookies when they get back from school....... Grin

well only another 1500-2000 words to write for midnight tomorrow - oh wait - that's the same amount as when i started!

fuzz pig doing option 1 also - i know basically what to write - its a case of making it relevant and what to leave out. its just deadly dull. still onwards ...

TheSockPuppet · 19/03/2012 23:16

Grin I'm finished, I went slightly over the wordcount and finished with about 3,000 words, but it's handed in and I'm now in bed catching up on what I missed on mumsnet!

In my course we aren't allowed to go over the word count - the education faulty have a different policy to most. It was 2000 words for this essay, I did 1978 I think.

gingergran · 21/03/2012 14:15

OK - wangled another day but need to do 2000 by midnight tonight - at the moment on 260 and have worked out - whilst procrastinating of course - that if i do about 180 words per hour I will be able to finish on time. So pleeeeeeeeeease nag me!!

fuzzpig · 21/03/2012 16:00

It's a boring essay but just plough through!

TheSockPuppet · 21/03/2012 17:47

Just think about all the time you can spend lounging about doing nothing guilt free when you finish it all Smile

gingergran · 21/03/2012 20:26

its going OK - it's just dull. should be finished on time though - then just have to catch up with all the other stuff i have missed

TheSockPuppet · 21/03/2012 22:53

Hey, how did you get on? Are you almost finished?

Melty · 22/03/2012 20:44

Sigh. I'm up to my tricks again. 3-5k words to do by monday. On Leadership theories, and I have to design a 2 day leadership course. (and write about the theories that underpin my course design)
Looking at a blank word document.

fuzzpig · 22/03/2012 21:50

I managed to plan my answer to the methodology assignment, which isn't due for a month, the other day. Despite being majorly behind on my reading. It's all gone a bit wonky.

Melty · 23/03/2012 04:26

2 nights in a row I ahve fallen asleep at about 8pm. Slept all the way through til 6am yesterday, and woke up at 4am today. Am now WIDE awake. Have a couple of hours I can be productive in I suppose!

fuzzpig · 23/03/2012 06:18

I always think I should get up and study in those insomnia-filled hours but I just end up lying there instead.

Melty · 23/03/2012 06:58

Well I managed to line up the papers I had printed off to read, and put them in a nice pile. Read a couple. Put a wash on. Didnt get any actual writing done, and now I have to rush around and get ready for work.

fuzzpig · 23/03/2012 19:39

I got a 95. Am now suspicious that (a) it's a mistake on the site or (b) it's a sympathy grade.

Melty · 23/03/2012 19:53

No way! Of course its not a mistake or a sympathy grade.
Why do we think that we are not clever enough to do well?

I got a C in my last (thought I'd failed it, handed in late with no understanding of the second part of the question) assignment, and my first thought was that the standards are not very high!
Give yourself a well deserved pat on the back! Grin

fuzzpig · 23/03/2012 19:56

:) I usually got 97/8 on my previous courses because they were maths and therefore easier to see if I was right IYSWIM. I was really worried about doing my first essay for years as it's not so black and white.

Breathing a massive sigh of relief now - so much shit has been going on at home so it's amazing to have good news.

gingergran · 23/03/2012 23:47

Fuzzpig you genius!! Will you be my friend - I need your brain cells.

I managed to submit mine at 23.31pm so just within the deadline and will just have to wait patiently. I have another TMA that was submitted three weeks ago for another course that I haven't got the results for yet and it is extremely demotivating when I am already a procrastinator extraordinaire. Also have a day school tomorrow so have to sit with the great and the good from 10 till 4 - boring!

fuzzpig · 24/03/2012 06:45

Ah yes the day schools are... Interesting. I found the maths ones useful (I don't think there are any for ED209?). I found that at every tutorial or day school there is always at least one annoying know-it-all.

Well done for making your deadline. I am really behind on the reading (and I haven't done any of the activities in the textbook at all yet, or used any of the media kit!) but I'm glad I've written a rough copy of TMA02, the methodology one. It means when I come back to it I'll have a head start. I don't know if you read the study yet but it's really bad, so lots to say about it IYSWIM!

I have to say though I'm quite disappointed in the methods and skills handbook. Each chapter seems quite superficial and doesn't go into enough detail (IMO) - I'm sure we did more than this in psychology A level.

gingergran · 24/03/2012 09:12

I am really behind fuzzpig as am overlapping two courses which i really regret doing. I am enjoying ED209 but find that there are a lot of 'alien' concepts to take in and I have decided that psychology isn't for me. Am going back to childhood and youth modules which I much prefer

Haven't even looked at the next TMA - the thought of it scares the ants off me - but hopefully the tutorial beforehand will help make sense of it. Do we have to use the FOCUS software?

gingergran · 24/03/2012 09:12

pants not ants!!!

fuzzpig · 24/03/2012 09:16

Oh no I don't have a tutorial before the next assignment :( no idea about focus, don't even know what it is! It wasn't mentioned in the assignment though, the resources are basically just the M&S handbook (not just any handbook... An M&S handbook... Sorry that was lame)

gingergran · 24/03/2012 16:50

fuzzpig, if i get any useful information I can PM you if that helps

fuzzpig · 24/03/2012 17:44

That would be awesome thank you :)

tumbleweedblowing · 26/03/2012 19:19

I have excelled myself today.

1 x shallot tart tatin for lunch for DH and myself
1 x loaf of bread for tomorrow breakfast
12 x home made sausage rolls for the DCs lunchboxes TOTALLY FROM SCRATCH
Dinner for DH and me in the oven cooking already.

Now, about that TMA........
