compo · 12/09/2005 17:01

another quick question -are 'overs' when ball is bowled? and hoiw come Shane Warne is always bowling?

swiperfox · 12/09/2005 17:03

yep - an over is 6 balls

309-8
315 ahead

compo · 12/09/2005 17:04

thanks. is it just me or is it much more complicated than say tennis or football?

swiperfox · 12/09/2005 17:05

The logic behind is is really simple but when you start on all the little rules it gets a bit complicated!!

swiperfox · 12/09/2005 17:16

Well, they've as good as done it now. 313-8.

Brett Lee isn't a happy bunny

Whizzz · 12/09/2005 17:16

Even I put it on just now & I hate cricket !

munz · 12/09/2005 17:36

sansouci · 12/09/2005 18:47

disaster strikes! we can't receive sky all of a sudden. dh in a foul mood.

acnebride · 12/09/2005 21:45

Does anyone know who was (were) Man of the Match and Man of the Series?

For me it would have to be Warne for both. It wasn't on the highlights prog.

Whizzz · 12/09/2005 21:46

I'm no fan, but I think Warne did win something.

lucy5 · 12/09/2005 21:48

pieterson, the delicious flintoff and warne got the australian award, i dont know if it was match or series though.

Whizzz · 12/09/2005 21:49

Flintoff won the inaugural Compton-Miller medal after hitting 402 runs and taking 24 wickets.

acnebride · 12/09/2005 21:52

ah, thanks.

it was just the sensation when watching warne bowl that he would do what he d*mn well liked with us. and the way he bowled himself flat into the ground today. and those super flares. probably projecting again...

Davros · 12/09/2005 22:12

The Ashes is NOT every 2 years, its every time Oz play in England, which is prob more like every 4 or so years. We are playing Pakistan over the winter, I can't wait, bet half of you will have stopped caring.....
Ricky Ponting is a tosser! Brett Lee is fab and Shane is.... Shane, just love him having hated him (a bit like Ian Wright in football, start out hating them then find out they're strong characters and bloody good at what they do). The rest of the Ozzies are rather anonymous!
I am going to the Victory Parade tomorrow, anyone else going?

Davros · 12/09/2005 22:14

Posts crossed. Flintoff got England Man of the Series, voted for by Oz trainer (whatever they all them) and Shane got the Oz equivalent. Freddie also got that new award but didn't seem to actually be given any champagne or anything to go with it (unlike me ) and Pietersen got Man of the Match.
