In court for sexual abuse on a child

Just sounding off really ladies. A close friend of mine has a 6yr old daughter who was serially sexually abused from the age of 3. Finally the case has come to court and I've been there this week. God, it's terrible !! I tell you,some men should be castrated at birth. The little girl did her evidence and was fab, but we know it could still go either way. Gonna be a very long week I think...

Fingers crossed that this man gets what he deserves, i cant understand how anyone can take away the innocence of a child, she must be very brave to go through court. prayrs for the right verdict.

How terrible for the little girl and her family... You are an amazing friend for being there for them. What a sad state of affairs that children experience this horrible abuse.

it started Monday and we hope to have a verdict by Wednesday next week very latest according to the judge/barristers.They 'hope' for Monday really tho'

Pouch - I know you are, of course right, but it's hard not be positive when things seem to be looking up. We have been living this nightmare for 18months and finally we see that he just 'may' go down for it. Even the barrister said she was 'not disappointed' this afternoon! Must be horrible for all of you. I was on a jury recently for a similar type thing and it was a really hard experience just to hear the evidence, let alone it be someone you know. Thinking of you.

Lucky that it got to court. Years ago i knewat a girl who told me she had been abused, her dad admitted it but her Mum never accepted it and kept accusing the Social Services of interfering- Dad was in a bail hostel but Mum was trying to set up secret meetings with their daughter, that sort of thing. Daughter had told Mum, but Mum told her she was being silly (she was abused from 8 - 14, when she told).

Dad died in bail hostel, daughter never got her justice as familys till don't believe it.

that's terrible Peachy. My friend's little girl was abused from 3-5yrs, then Mum suspected something and Doc confirmed it. Mum has always believed her daughter totally.
