In court for sexual abuse on a child

Just sounding off really ladies. A close friend of mine has a 6yr old daughter who was serially sexually abused from the age of 3. Finally the case has come to court and I've been there this week. God, it's terrible !! I tell you,some men should be castrated at birth. The little girl did her evidence and was fab, but we know it could still go either way. Gonna be a very long week I think...

Lethal injection would be better, have seen too many programs on the telly where US convicts have got a lighter scentence by agreeing to be castrated but admitted that they will still offend becasue they still have their hands. How anyone can do these things to poor innocent children is beyond me.

Hope you get the result you need. Much respect to you for helping and supporting the family as so many people turn a blind eye cause they don't have a clue how to deal with it.

I am glad it is all over, and he got the verdict that he deserved.

Exactly hausfrau, lets hope everyone knows what he's in there for and he gets a little bit of what he deserves.

He'll be in a special unit for sex offenders for about 18 months (he got 3 yrs) He still showed no emotion at all when he was sent down!

he got 3 yrs but will prob serve 18 months. We really don't care tho' as it proves that the jury believed he was really guilty. He has been saying it was all rubbish all around town since he was first arrested in Jan 03, it's taken so long to get to court.

How is your friend and the little girl, Mabs? it must be a relief that he was sent down, but it must still hard for them. Your friend must be exhausted. Are they getting help?

they have a lot of help and the little girl is (outwardly) doing so well bless her. My friend is struggling tho, whilst she is very relieved and feels vindicated, now it's all over I can say that it was her ex husband. Very very hard to come to terms with.....

was it his daughter aswell??

unfortunatly peadophiles are kept well away from other criminals for thier own safety, very wrong in my view, should be fed to the lions and made to serve time like everyone else.

My vote would also be to put these men in with teh 'regular' prisioners. i'm sure he'll have a visit at soem point thou, althou that doesn't set things right.

oh yeah , he'll certainly be 'visited' in there, actually he's prob safer there than outside at the mo. There are some seriously heavy people around here who want to literally kill him. Oh well, he can think about/look forward to that while he's in there eh!? I still can't believe he really got convicted...

well it might not have been for very long (not long enough if u ask me - let the other's deal with him) but anyhow at least there's some things this juctice (sp) system gets right.

Oh MABS just seen this glad the jury saw this man for the evil low life he is. Hope the little girl gets some good counselling to restart her life.
