I saw part of a film on TV the other night where a group of teenagers did one of these. I know it was TV and things do get exaggerated but it made me think.
I have never in my life done one of these and don't know of anyone that has either, but I'm curious. Don't get me wrong, I'm not planning on doing one either!!!
Just wondered if anyone out there has experience of this and what they thought.
I find it hard to believe that something like that can have such power.

Hi there .

Talking of unusual happenings, I had another visitor the other evening . Anyone got any clue as to why my visitors sometimes take the form of animals?!

mogwai · 24/06/2005 11:07

Badger...are you actually a badger? I was just thinking this might explain the visitations from mole, ratty and toad [gri]

mogwai · 24/06/2005 11:07

.

Not being disrespectful, just a humour thing

SaintGeorge · 24/06/2005 11:08

ggg - if Verity doesn't bother you then I wouldn't worry about it too much.

If you keep in your head that the phrase 'Verity Razorblade' is connected to a curse then you can almost guarantee that it will be - power of the mind effecting your writing, book bombs.

On the other hand, if you want to believe that 'Verity Razorblade' actually gave you that message years ago purely to inspire you, then you might well write a best seller

BadgerBadger · 24/06/2005 11:09

Mogwai, you could be on to something there

SaintGeorge · 24/06/2005 11:09

mogwai - do you realise that your sense of humour is actually quite disrespectful? I refer to your posts of yesterday which I found quite insulting.

Badger - cat by any chance?

mogwai · 24/06/2005 11:11

Badger...were you offended by my sense of humour??

You didn't seem to be?

I don't think it's disrespectful at all

SaintGeorge · 24/06/2005 11:15

Like I said - I refer to your posts of yesterday.

BadgerBadger · 24/06/2005 11:17

SG, why am I not surprised that you knew?

SaintGeorge · 24/06/2005 11:18

She is one of your spiritual guides. Just accept her cos I don't think she is planning on leaving you anytime soon.

BadgerBadger · 24/06/2005 11:19

Mogwai, momentarily, yes. Not once I'd read the second of your two posts though.

I wasn't around yesterday, FWIW.

mogwai · 24/06/2005 11:20

I find there's a place for humour on mumsnet. Most people seem to enjoy it.

This is a general website open to everyone, I have every respect for your gift or for what you believe, your input is very interesting, I'd love to know more and may look at the website you mentioned, but this isn't a serious psychic website - it's mumsnet.

We do tend to have a laugh and a smile and a wink. That's why we have these emoticons

BadgerBadger · 24/06/2005 11:22

SG, That's good to know! In fact, that is really, really good to know as it would explain some of Kai's behaviour too!

Caroline5 · 24/06/2005 11:22

Definitely think ouija boards are a bit dodgy - did them at uni and was a bit freaked by some of the things they came up with. Personally, I think there is a huge amount we don't know about our minds and their potential 'psychic' powers. I've had a lot of so-called psychic events.

I think these things can run in families - my cousin is similar - and dd1 seems to be the same. We seem to read each other's minds. Maybe it's just being familiar with each other, but I think it goes beyond that. Would actually like in some ways to find out more, but am a bit wary.

SaintGeorge · 24/06/2005 11:23

I appreciate that mogwai - I have been on this site for four years so I am well aware of the humour.

I just didn't see why you needed to make such a big joke of my religion by posting pi$$ take comments on other threads.

mogwai · 24/06/2005 11:28

I wasn't taking the piss??

I respect that being a witch is your religion. I asked you whether it was rotten at halloween and you said, if I rememeber rightly, that yes, it was, because people misunderstood!!!

You have your opinion and I have mine.

I think your original post was because you felt offended by the word witch being used in a different context. People are always going to use the word "witch" in different contexts that may offend you, they don't understand what it really means for a serious witch like you. Surely you have had to develop a very thick skin?

mogwai · 24/06/2005 11:29

and now I really do have to go out and do something with my day!!

BadgerBadger · 24/06/2005 11:30

TBH, I do think taking the pi$$ out of anyone's religion isn't on, though admittedly, I do identify with SG's in particular!

Ho hum

BadgerBadger · 24/06/2005 11:31

Have a good day Mogwai

You too SG, catch up later? xx

SaintGeorge · 24/06/2005 11:32

mogwai - I think you are missing my point. Yes you asked a question and I answered.

You then went on to post on 2 further threads with comments about my post. In both cases they came across as not taking my comments seriously. I found that disrespectful of my beliefs and just understand why you felt the need to do it.

SaintGeorge · 24/06/2005 11:33

Badger - yes, I'll be on tonight

ChaCha · 24/06/2005 11:39

This was a great thread. SG - you've made your point now, i think everyone gets the picture, have apologised enough and Mogwai has said her bit - can we move on from it now pls?

In defence of Sarax2005 - she was just giving her opinion and a bit of advice - I don't see her trying to convert anyone? It's getting beyond a joke now when you have to think twice about everything you say! Chill pills all round please and Mogwai...what a story!!! Had very eerie setting with the thunder and all...
Moving on...what's next?

SaintGeorge · 24/06/2005 11:42

But I have to think twice about everything I say apparently. Fine, I'll shut up

SPARKLER1 · 24/06/2005 13:07

Ahem - this is my thread and I won't have any arguements!!! If you do I shall send you all to bed without any tea!!!!!
