Love Cbeebies (not too often though, thank you), but some of their shows drive me mad. My most detested one of all times is 'Badger and Bodger', followed closely by 'Brum'. Come to think of it, there are quite a few more than annoy me but I'll stop here. Which ones do you hate?

My dd used to love Playhouse disney especially bear in the big blue house and Bitesize. She also liked Out of the box. Circle time used to drive me nuts though the guy, can't remember his name although Dh refers to him as gimp, used to drive me up the wall. I often wondered if the guy from circle time and the guy who did the bit about animals (Mark?) were related, they both had the same insane smiles. And yes Wills I think Ruby might just be an animated version of Bella. I really don't like Ruby and Max, although I know I've already said that in a previous message here, she just seems so patronising to Max all the time and why can't he seem to say more than one word at a time?

susanmt · 24/05/2003 14:14

Was watching this morning and realised I had forgotten the totally worst programme - Fab Lab!
I'd strangle the pixies if I caught them in our garden shed!

motherinferior · 27/05/2003 08:44

oooh yes, you're right. And I'd put in a vote for Clifford, which somehow manages to be extraordinarily annoying (also, I keep wondering about who follows that sodding red dog around with a pooper-scooper). I did like Monty the Dog. And Bear, which appears to be made by people with a grasp of character and even irony.

StripyMouse · 27/05/2003 09:04

Oooh me too - fablab - guaranteed to put up my blood pressure before the opening music has died away.
Talking of CBeebes (sorry to change the topic slightly) - is it my imagination or has Pui gone from 10 weeks pregnant to 7 months pregnant in two weeks?!! What is going on? One day I am busy discussing with dh "is she or isn?t she?" (dh right) and now she looks ready to pack her hospital bag. Wow - hope my pregnancy whizzes past that quickly, oh and that she hasn?t suffered too much from stretch marks with all that accelerated bump growth!

motherinferior · 27/05/2003 11:49

I think Pui has just gone through what most of us do.

cori · 27/05/2003 15:07

Worst is Clifford, very patronising even to a 16 month old, Zingalong very bad as well- but the theme sticks in your head, so you cant help but hum. DS likes it but i dont let him watch it.
One of the best is Blue Cow stories on story makers.
Does any one know what ever happened to Seasme street. I have one video, which i bought i australia. Ds loves it but i cant find them anywhere here.

bundle · 07/06/2003 10:46

just wanted to say I met Pui when I was out shopping the other day with dd2...she was utterly charming, her baby is due in August and she's hoping for a natural delivery at Edgware. some children came up to her with their granny and she was v charming to them too

codswallop · 07/06/2003 13:26

I want miss hoolie to pinch that blokes bum - the one who is cleaning he car.

still LOl at archie "ever so farty"..

Marina · 07/06/2003 15:56

Her singing is still awful though Bundle - and couldn't you have asked her who falsified the postmortem results in State of Play while you were at it?
How are you doing - good to see word of you! If you are able to socialise with BBC personalities life must be settling down a bit for you and your new arrival?

Bossanova · 08/06/2003 01:18

Cori, Sesame Street is on Nick Jr at the weekends at 6am. I keep meaning to video it as I'm not up that early. My dd loved it when she was a toddler and it was on at lunchtimes on C4. Ds liked the few he has seen.

CathB · 11/06/2003 12:55

I love the Shiny Show and I dont care ! I particuarly like the one with the builders when they wont do anything until they get tea. Really hate Clifford though esp the little homilies at the end. Also Zing along as she has scary teeth. I notice that in the credits Zoe is listed as Marie Claire McManus - is she realted to Mark "Taggart" Mcmanus?? Would explain a few things.
DH has real problem with most of Nick Jr and is torn between Max and ruby and maggie and the FB as most aggravating. I notice Wendy is in the same condition as Pui, though the way they recycly it, she has probably had it by now. Love the bananas in Pyjamas though.

abbysmum · 11/06/2003 12:57

2 weeks ago, Wendy was unpregnant again. This week, she's enormous!

I love Clifford and Maggie and the FB BTW.

Great Googly Mooglies!

motherinferior · 11/06/2003 13:29

Dp said quite seriously this morning, about Bob, 'he isn't really a very good builder, is he'. I think my lovely man needs to get out more.

ditsymum · 11/06/2003 14:40

My DS loves the Teletubbies but blows raspberries at the Tweenies at 8 months he shows very good taste. I want to tie Josie Jumps shoe laces together and tell Archie to give up inventing he is terrible and a bit creepy

and as for Brum anyone know a good used car sales man it is awful and the actors look very embarrased "I did not spend 3 years training at RADA for this Lovey" etc

mammya · 11/06/2003 22:24

I know it's not a cbeebies programme but I love bear in the big blue house, i think it's great and it makes ME laugh (don't need much...) especially tutter the mouse. Luckily dd likes it too! I also like pingu, and quite like balamory, although i find the songs really irritating.
Otherwise I find that big red dog programme awful and about the tweenies, I'll only say AAAAARGH!

M2T · 11/06/2003 22:25

whispers - I like the tweenies<

I absolutely can't stand Barney!

bea · 11/06/2003 22:42

I must admit i love the tweenies too!... it really makes me laugh!... i love the little sarcky comments they make to each other... especially milos little mutterings...

and whilst i'm confessing me and dd love the song to Balamory too! DD sings along to the karaoke site on the cbeebies website endlessly!... besides i love putting in my comments about farty archie...

mammya · 11/06/2003 23:05

I can't stand Barney either, those "teeth" (I assume they're teeth) he's got are freaky, and the kids are too! My dd loves it though The Tweenies are not that bad, it's just that they're so HYPER all the time (or so they seem)

Libragirl · 12/06/2003 22:25

its not a cbeebies programme but I can't stand hi5 but ds loves it. I think Nathen and Kelly should be on an adult channel!

meanmum · 12/06/2003 22:27

I love Hi5 as it is mostly music. I'm not musical at all and am sure I'm tone deaf but I don't think they sing that well or maybe it's just the songs. Ds loves Hi5 because of all the music in it not that he understands it yet.

whymummy · 12/06/2003 22:34

also not a cbeebies but i love the song at the end of bear and the big blue house we`re always running late for school because i have to listen to it and sing it and the kids go "oh come on mummy!!"

good bye, good bye good friends goodbye....get a life whymummy!!(i hear you say )

cupkate · 13/06/2003 13:41

Bundle, if you bump into Pui again can you ask her if she's Po from the teletubbies? It's driving me out of my mind wondering if she is or not! Well, the clues are all there aren't they? One of the teletubbies is 'played' by Pui Fan Lee and on the cbeebies site, Pui tells us her favourite character is Po. Do I need to get out more or what? Oh, and by the way, I HATE THE TELETUBBIES!

SoupDragon · 13/06/2003 13:50

She is Po! I did some internet research last year, sad as I am...

Marina · 13/06/2003 13:55

It must be her then Cupkate because an actress of the same name and appearance was in State of Play briefly a couple of weeks ago.
A rare chance to see some CBeebies with ds yesterday reminded me how much I HATE The Shiny Show. StoryMakers is the favourite in our house, but we went through a bad patch when Milton did not appear for weeks and ds was convinced he was gone for good. He thinks the two women Storymakers are "silly". We especially love Blue Cow...

Northerner · 13/06/2003 14:39

We love Teletubbies and Bear in the big blue house. But I hate Zing a Long and Balamory. If anybody is watching BB4 I think Cameron should be offered a job in Balamory when he's evicted!

What ever happened to Rainbow, Play School and button moon?
