Your most irritating Cbeebies programme

Love Cbeebies (not too often though, thank you), but some of their shows drive me mad. My most detested one of all times is 'Badger and Bodger', followed closely by 'Brum'. Come to think of it, there are quite a few more than annoy me but I'll stop here. Which ones do you hate?

edgarcat, it is mucker (in accordance with DS' cbeebies CD).

I LOATHE the FIMBLES!

fimbles - can't stand it. I don't why this should bug me soooo much when I can happily watch teletubbies.

nobby · 21/05/2003 19:39

I really like the flirty woman in the tartan dress (am I the only one?) 'moo moo moo, moo, moo, moo'. And Tikkabilla is useful - ds (2) said 'It's 4 o'clock' the other day and it bloody was! Thanks to the Tikkabilla clock.

What freaks me out if the house with a face on it and the weird talking furniture. I have to hide behind the sofa.

meanmum · 21/05/2003 19:39

Tweenies, teletubbies, Fimbles to name a few.

Frenchgirl · 21/05/2003 19:42

Edgarcat, LadyP - thanks for enlightning me. Being foreign (bet you can't guess where I'm from) I find these names pretty weird and most of the time (as proven today) get them wrong.. They should call all the characters Ferguson (see Mark Twain book - can't remember title...) Rely on dd to tell me who's who usually.

allatsea · 21/05/2003 19:46

Girly I'm with you about the shiny show. I'm not usually a violent person, but everytime they say 'give yourself a shiny', I feel an overwhelming urge to give them what for!

Don't know if it's on cbeebies but "The story makers" wind me up with their blue cow stories.I mean a blue cow!!!

Furball · 21/05/2003 20:49

What about 'Bits and Bobs'? How bad is that? 'Well if I don't know and you don't know?' ARRGGHHH

Best is definately Tickle and Patch Ooh Arh.

Sosijsmum · 21/05/2003 21:14

First time poster, felt compelled to respond as TV permanently tuned to 702! I LOVE those silly fluff balls! Though I disagree that "which is right its up to you" You can't use just anything to hold your banana you know....

Linnet · 21/05/2003 21:24

I hate Zingalong, but dd loves it I also hate the fimbles but again dd loves it. And Tikabilla is another one that really bugs me, especially when they go to higdely pigdely house or whatever it's called, that just drives me up the wall.I find Justin really scary I don't know why I just think he looks scary. However I find that dd is learning from them telling the time but that is the only bit of it I find helpful.
Dd likes to watch Nick Junior though and likes Little Bill and Little bear and if she's allowed to stay up she loves Franklin. I hate Ruby and Max but sadly again Dd loves it.

Bossanova · 21/05/2003 21:47

I HATE the Fimbles, every darned one of 'em. That bloody frog as well.
Plus, I keep singing those flipping Balamory songs. This morning I got up and found myself singing 'Josie Jump'. How sad is that?
Personally, I like Tikkabilla (reminds me of Play School). At least ds might learn to tell the time, unlike dd(age8) who is only just getting the hang of it. Ds loves Come Outside as well and actually sits still for Blues Clues on Nick Jr too.

Claireandrich · 21/05/2003 21:51

Wasn't so bothered about Tikkabilla and Balamory. Only seen it once though. DD loves Tweenies, Teletubbies and Fimbles. She just likes the singing and dancing bits on them - she's 13 months. Not seen a lot of them as they aren't on 'proper' TV much. When we move we have Sky waiting so I can join in more then!

poppyloppy · 21/05/2003 21:51

Bits and Bobs defintely, but dd LOVED them. Shiny Show was a no no for me too, and luckily also for dd. Have to admit to thinking Story Makers was great. Sad I know. We seem to have moved onto Disney videos or Nickelodeon Jnr now (Dora rocks!)

Cha · 21/05/2003 22:29

LOATHE the Tweenies, they look like lizards. Also that dreadful Zingalong, with that dead eyed woman and all those terrified children having FUN. And who is that MAN on Tickabilla, the one with the dreadful giggle? I would like to push him over a cliff. Big fan of Come Outside though. It's the only Cbeebies programme which is vaguely interesting and doesn't set my teeth on edge.

Glad to see other mumsnetters think that Pui is pregnant, we all got treated to a side view of a wrap around number the other day and I thought - hey up.

aloha · 21/05/2003 22:46

I love the teletubbies (funny, affectionate, nice - and adore the mad cockney sheep). I hate everything else. Ds is in love with his Fun Song Factory video anyway, which is OK. I don't mind singing.

BearintheBigBlueHous · 22/05/2003 09:43

Agree with Edgarcat re Fimbles theme song - could be 80's britpop when it starts "Every girl, every boy etc" - you think this could develop - some Oasis guitars, rocking chorus, but no, all you get is weedy disappointment "Fimbles, Fimbles, meet the Fimbles". And the show's crap too. That Jane Horrocks hen with the afro chick would be nuggets by now if I got my hands on her.

Re Zingalong, her name's not even Zoe. She should be ashamed. The kids are clearly only there under protest - no Ribena till we're done filming.

The copper on Balamory couldn't catch a cold.

Tikkabilla grown ups are in some happy cult.

I'll show you where you can stick a Shiny.

Those little scrap yard robots should be melted down......

Rant ends

susanmt · 22/05/2003 09:53

I hate bodger and badger as well, but it hasn't been around for a while. I think the tweenies are on drugs, and I hate Zingalong - obviously they looked for the person in BBC SCotalnd with the LEAST songwriting talent and got them to do it (and its awful cos I have a friend who works for them and she is a fab songwriter).
I love Balamory. Its the only thing on TV that is anything like where we live (small scottish island fishing village) and dd loves it as well - in fact she has a postcard of Tobermory (where it is filmed) up in her room - we had to buy it on the ferry the other day when coming home as she was SOOOO excited by it!

I HATE Balamory. They are all so f-ing cheerful and gormless that if I lived there I would have to kill them all. Hardly the CBeebies spirit.
I also loathe Dora the Exlporer on Nick Jr. I think it's her voice. DS doesn't even get a chance to watch these two.

I think they should make a show with just the blobby yellow things moving around and smiling for a bit. DS loves them and when I accidentally put CBBC on and he saw the other green ones, he was fascinated.
