fecking dh's car fecking piece of total waste of money has broken down again on the effing M6

luckily he could steer it onto hard shoulder

he is doing another viewing on new house today, meeting half the family there, they all wanted a nose round

my mums already phoned to say she wants cuttings of everything in garden and that she has eaten most of the raspberries from the canes, has spotted 3 apple trees , 2 eating, 1 cooking, blackcurrents, a large grape vine, palms, an elephant ear plant and tonnes of other stuff, and says the greenhouses (2) are expensive large ones... and there are beans in veg patch near stawbs! she thinks its fab
also pointed out real oak floor in hallway and dining area says we'd be nuts to change it & just needs a very good scrub

VoodootheSneezyPig · 21/07/2009 14:47

BIL says no sign of damp (he's a decorator) and says dd's room will be fab yellow with daisies (her idea)
don't know about ds room, thinking blue& orange could be quite swish...
shades of choc/coffee/cream for ours
want a carpet in ours but laminates for kids
maybe thomas tank theme room for ds? but annoying when they grow out of it..

BIL out of work at mo and quite excited to come and play decorating!! he's a fab bloke.

will have to scout for ideas.

so dh staying in mids tonight, feck! had to cancel dentist apt I made for him tommorw, and change apt for building soc. to friday, hate delaying house stuff, need these surveys underway..

jenn, would you recommend a homebuyer report? did you get one? (middle level survey) as getting basic one done for building soc. do we really need another one??

VoodootheSneezyPig · 21/07/2009 14:49

also find out what work have planned for me next week (scared..)

about starting a new branch will really miss my friends.

worley · 21/07/2009 15:38

elephant ear plant??
have you googled it os it it the name your mum has given it? lol. my nanny used to give every thing different names, its only the past few years i have realsied the names she used to call them wasnt the actuall names. no wonder no one ever knew what i was talking about.
my new suttons catalogue book came yesterday, they have some really pretty daffodils that are PINK!! not seen them before. am tempted but about £20 for 20 bulbs.

just been nto tescos and spent the last of my wages, on crap really, i have to get studd for ds1 to eat, while they are at school he manages to eat properly, but once its the holidays he seems to just want cheese strings, cheese dipper things, crisps and biscuits. tescos must know this and have loads of kids crap 3 for 2.
ds2 however would rather eat grapes than sweets, so i hope he keeps it up.

have a mozzarella and spinich pizza for tea. mmmmm

worley · 21/07/2009 15:42

Voodoo are you going for Buckley or Clark Road? We've always gone for middle price home buyers, but there isn't much of a difference between the lower level and middle level, they still don't move furniture to do the middle level. Dh would only advise top level if buying something like a barn conversion or simiar.

Is Elephants ear Bergenia or did she mean lamb's ear?

Macdog hope it's not 'flu!

Worley, I've found an ancient wisteria absolutely smothered by ivy in my patio that is going to be a tropical courtyard. I wonder if I can get it going again.

VoodootheSneezyPig · 21/07/2009 21:33

probably bergenia.
my mum has her own vocabulary for many things

cant believe in 9 weeks I may own a grape vine!

we are buying ... neither of those. for the mo I am keeping schtum. scared to jinx it.
as soon as we've completed I'll post it up.

oooh, macdog, should you be macsneezypig??

worley - you are almost inspiring me to have a clear out..
we shoved loads and loads of clothes into the oxfam bin the other day, then read the sign that said they shouldve been bagged. oops!

VoodootheSneezyPig · 21/07/2009 21:35

clark road was a wonderful garden,.
lots of lovely little areas (including a courtyard!) and a rose garden patio area, and acres of lawn, and a wood..
but the house kitchen was miniscule, the garden room basically a shed,,
and the location was dreadful. quite a rough-ish road, in front of a school (not a brill one, either) I want to be walkable to a school, obviously, but not literally live in the playground

VoodootheSneezyPig · 21/07/2009 21:38

cant remember buckley

we saw some nice fixed up ones, but decided to have our own mini Grand Designs.

although, putting the combi boiler and 6 radiators in is a nightmare,,all the orig. wood floors will be destroyed as concrete underneath needs the pipes laying into it!

oh Worley Ive always wanted an exercise bike!
I'm going to give my bike to my mum to borrow till my occcyx allows me to ever ride on it again..
great excuse reason not to ha ha

VoodootheSneezyPig · 21/07/2009 21:39

poor macdog, watch your temperature! if it goes over 38 you may have oinky-oinky!

anyway, I have started coughing within the last three hours, but I feel ok.

Jennster · 21/07/2009 22:59

DH was loving the clark road garden, but we could only see one greenhouse. I'm very jealous of your grapevine too. Can't wait to see the house.

worley · 21/07/2009 23:12

one of my little wisteria plants has dies[sad[ it got tp about 20cm tall has lots of leaves on it, but just given up, i still have the other one going though.
my friends just been round all evening, shes been on safari around mumbai (?) and some place which sounded like sambuka but wasnt. she had over 3000 pictures, so i told her email me a few to look at, she was really sad about the poverty out there and is now thinking about doing voluntary work there. i dont think her dp will be impressed though, hes supported her through 4 years of college/uni to do her social work degree and now she wants to swan off. but i dont actually see her going.
plus she was annoyed with me for not going to boxercise last night, so i had to promise to go next week.

heavy annoying rain showers interspersed with hot sunshine, cant put washing out got soaked at the park. how I loathe disappointing wet summers.
Im sure they said it would be a hot summer this year.

Jennster · 23/07/2009 14:49

Voodoo. I'm off to Manchester tomorrow to see my sister's new gaff. She's renting in Didsbury. My cousin lives in Hale. Is that anywhere near Didsbury? She has chickenpox and thought we might drop in with cakes or biscuits.

Jennster · 23/07/2009 14:50
