Big fat / sign and rasberry to you and shove the dirty look you gave me where the sun don't shine.

littlelamb · 13/04/2009 17:21

Ah, the friendly face of Mumsnet

cikecaka · 13/04/2009 17:22

Oh please tell

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 13/04/2009 17:23

Was your dog off it's lead perchance? Terrorising small children?

StopSittingOnTheBabyPlease · 13/04/2009 17:23

Please don't tell - reckon I can do without hearing what's likely to be a viciously negative story.

Doodle2U · 13/04/2009 17:27

Dog went into the river for a drink - it was on a path where dogs were OK off-lead. I'm red-hot on keeping my dog on a lead when kids are around but he was just coming out of the stream and wandering over to me.

Woman did huge diva-style lift of the child away from my dog and gave me a killer look.

Bloody dog walking capital of the Peak district on a sunny bank holiday....

Next, I saw her do the same thing again to a dog that WAS on a lead and give the same look to that dog owner too.

Dogs are part of life - teach your children how to behave around dogs - I don't care if you hate dogs with a passion. You teach them road safety, so teach them dog safety. Dogs are not going to disappear any time soon.

As a total aside - the child was possibly one of the most exquisitly beautiful children I've ever seen and gave me a smile over her Mum's shoulder - warmed me heart

I think the op is being rotton, she has to come back and tell

2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 13/04/2009 17:28

oops x post

HairyMuff · 13/04/2009 17:28

Why didn't you tell her at the time?

You could have had a fight, Gladiators "duel" style on the stepping stones with the loser falling into the river. Now that would have been worth the sitting in the BH traffic for!

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 17:28

it was me.

woof

MuffinBaker · 13/04/2009 17:29

Maybe her child has been bitten before?

I am sick of people letting their dog run up to my terrified child saying "it won't hurt". She doesn't know that, does she?

2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 13/04/2009 17:29

Doodle2U sounds like the mum just thought she owned the world.
I do wish dog haters would stay away from doggie places.

Doodle2U · 13/04/2009 17:30

Dog didn't run up her to her child.

Child wasn't terrified.

I didn't say "He won't hurt her etc".

OP posts:
MuffinBaker · 13/04/2009 17:31

Never said it or you did.

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 17:31

your dog was uncontrollable

and oyu had tattoos.
Never trust a dog owner wiht tattoos

StopSittingOnTheBabyPlease · 13/04/2009 17:31

Your don't sound that heart-warmed.

My child is scared of dogs after being knocked over by one twice his height.

Dogs should be taught child safety. People and children scared of dogs aren't going to disappear they are part of life.

I try to encourage gentle safe interaction with dogs. But if I did pick up my child to ensure it's safety or mental health then I'd give a killer look to anyone who was clearly non-verbally giving me a V sign

StopSittingOnTheBabyPlease · 13/04/2009 17:32

oh and it's "raspberry" .

AbleSister · 13/04/2009 17:32

woof woof

2shoestrodonalltheeggs · 13/04/2009 17:32

sorry doodle didn't say her dog ran up ro anyone

southeastastra · 13/04/2009 17:32

my child freaks out when he sees dogs, and i mean really freaks out. thing is, that makes dogs come over to him .

Doodle2U · 13/04/2009 17:33

I didn't say anything. There was nothing to say, tbh.

My dog was knackered from a good long walk and a swim in the river - he couldn't have given a shoite about any of the millions of kids that were there.
