Ok, I am completely freaked out by what I have seen on Google Streetview...

Have just been looking at my house - no cars in the drive so we were obviously all out when the picture was taken.

Zooming in it looks as though there is a ghostly looking figure peering out of the window of dd2's bedroom. Dh says it is just a trick of the light but it's really spooked me.

Have put the picture on my profile - what do you think?

I couldn't see anything at first then gradually something that looked like an Alien appeared, but that took a bit of effort to see.

Oh,oh I looked again and I can see it now. Is it just me or does it look a bit like a penguin??? You haven't got a toy penguin have you????

Very spooky! I know it is the brain trying to make sense of a random pattern but still it's hard to deny something you think you clearly see. I also know that once you see something it is almost impossible to change your perception.

When you look at this illusion the first thing you see is either a duck or a rabbit. Even if you can see the other picture, when you look at the picture a second time you are more likely to see whatever it was you saw the first time you looked at it.

Funny though - it looks like its looking straight to camera.......

however why has no one pointed out that it is 2 pictures with part of the window obviously missing and the slats on the wall don't match either.

I vote for trick of the light - but a spooky one! Better than the usual rubbish balls of light (err..it's a reflection of the LIGHT you idiot) or spooky blurs on sepia pictures from the 1920s!

Any chance it could be a smear from one of your DCs having pressed their face against the glass?

Holymac, I've been looking at some street maps and quite a lot of the houses have bits missing too, so it must be something to do with the mapping and not someone trying to make a ghost/alien/dog into the picture.

My house has the same thing, like somebody looking out the window.

My windows are minging, so I am attributing it to that.

These will all have to be known as Google Ghosts!

OOOOh , I normally never see ghostly things where other people see them, but this I can see. So, no I can't reassure you. I'm freaked too.
