...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

What is DW?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 11/01/2009 09:06

Dr Who. Ask Oggs.

Oggsdog · 11/01/2009 09:44

Sorry, in my wine and cheese addled mind I got confused as to who the girl was and why the toyboy was apologising to her.
I just popped on last night before I went to bed as I'd left the virus scanner on and had to come in to turn the pooter off.

DW (Doctor Who) was indeed fine and fantastic. It was wonderful to watch it clean, clear and uninterrupted.
My Mum tapes from a portable in her bedroom with a dodgy aerial - it's usually fuzzy to begin with and if it's not tuned very well every time someone walks past it hisses with static. We often have the first couple of minutes missing from progs too .

So yes. It was lovely. I was very good and only watched the first 2 episodes. I'm saving the extras for best

Don't worry Berrie, I've got Blackpool and DW2 to keep me occupied .

Did you do DW last night too Zeb?

Oggsdog · 11/01/2009 17:59

Where are you all? Had busy days?

Berrie · 12/01/2009 09:24

Hello you all!

Gosh I'm feeling chipper today! DD back at preschool today which might be why!! Whoooole day to myself...apart from work tonight...I need to do a bit of prep and paperwork. So ironing, cleaning and decluttering or...start my book and read it aaaallllll day?

Oggsdog · 12/01/2009 10:27

Morning . What's the book?

Berrie · 12/01/2009 10:46

Oh nothing impressive. I treated myself to the 3rd and 4th Twilight books but as I tend to ignore everyone and everything while I'm reading them, I've saved them.

I need to go to the chemist and post office now. I've been a bit naughty and made a batch of muffins. I put carrot and wholemeal flour in them to make them slightly healthy but they are incredibly sweet. I reckon I might have the amount of sugar wrong!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 12/01/2009 11:28

But carrot counts as one of your five a day, so I think you'll be fine.

It's raining.

Berrie · 12/01/2009 11:40

Here too
Forgot to take the parcel when I went into the village

LyraSilvertongue · 12/01/2009 12:01

I'm working from home today, which is nice as I don't waste two hours commuting. Boys at school and going to after school club afterwards.
Work is not busy so I'm watching This Morning and having a cup of tea

Ooo get you Lyra, working form home and watching the TV.

Am not enjoying this day off at all actually. Did not start book and am stuffing face instead. Have just eaten rather too much of a chocolate pudding that came in the hamper I won. I feel sick[SAD]

LyraSilvertongue · 12/01/2009 13:57

It's not too late to start the book is it? Run yourself a hot bubble bath and get that book out and enjoy a long soak.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 12/01/2009 14:03

I've been abandonned. I am now the only person in the office. Still, it gives me a chance to look for jobs online.

Berrie · 12/01/2009 14:08

Go on Zeb...do something you shouldn't...stand on someone's desk, photocopy your...face! Actually don't. I did this once and couldn't see properly for hours!

Too too late for book Lyra, just caught up on Holby city instead. Feeling less sick too. Swoosh!

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 12/01/2009 16:00

LOL

I....errr....switched on the radio

If you caught up on Holby, tell me what's going on with Patsy Kensit and her fiance. I'm all confused with that whole story there.

Berrie · 12/01/2009 16:32

Well...she sussed that he would quite like children really after he went all gooey having delivered Daisha's baby. She can't have children because of a gnetic abnormality and so she finished with him. He is in denial about that and something has gone on with the ex who got off with his now dead father (I must have missed that)
Anyway, I've got half an hour left to watch so I'll let you know.

Oggsdog · 12/01/2009 16:49

A bath at 2 o'clock in the afternoon Lyra . That's just wrong on so many levels.
I've never had a bath during the day - baths are for night-time surely? .

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 12/01/2009 17:37

Ah, so she's still in love with him then? Yeah, the father affair thing was all a bit grusome. I also missed what happened with him and his ex too. But I'm sure it'll end happily.....eventually.

And I love afternoon baths Oggs, it's very decadent. But you have to have a good book and a glass of something.....

Oggsdog · 12/01/2009 18:38

My night-time baths include a good book and sometimes a glass of something. I'd just never have the time to bath in the afternoon.

I like to put my PJ's on after a bath . In fact I've noticed that I'm putting my PJs on earlier and earlier lately.

Well, after getting off to a cracking start I only lost 2lbs last week. Bummer, 'cos when I weighed on Fri I was 6lb down(the wine and nibbles over the weekend didn't help obviously ). Dh had chips twice last week and has done nothing other than cut out chocolate, biscuits and his evening cheese and crackers and toast and jam, and still lost 5.5lbs .

LyraSilvertongue · 12/01/2009 19:02

Best time for a bath is in the morning when the children are safely despatched to school and the house is quiet at last. I'll have a bath at any time of day really, but less likely to in the evening.

Berrie · 12/01/2009 19:11

Me too...sometimes I have 2 baths a day I always have one at 7amish once the children are set up with breakfast and tv then I might have a recreational bath later. Very decadant I know.

Oggsdog · 12/01/2009 19:48

Ah, you see, I'm limited when it comes to bathing.

  • not enough hot water in the mornings, and if the heating has been on during day not enough at night either.
  • have to have the burner on all day with the heating switched off to get one at night.
  • have to make sure there is enough water in the tower to actually fill a bath.
  • when very cold/frosty no running water at all.

I'm currently battling with two weeks worth of washing as I've been unable to use the washing machine due to frozen pipes.
We managed to get a couple of baths during this time, but it meant dh had to cart the water in buckets from the river .

Still can't imagine having one in the middle of the day though

Berrie · 13/01/2009 07:39

Oggs, for you, I am not having a bath right now.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 13/01/2009 07:58

Where do showers fit into this scenario? Oh, and I always like putting the jamas on after my bath too.

Oggs - it sounds like at least the weight is heading south, which is great. Even if we all officially hate your DH.

Mine's also going the same way, based on cutting out everything but, errr, slimfast milkshakes, cupasoups and oatcakes. And black coffee. What's your plan? Oh, and let's not forget my attendance at those classes - Body Tone again last night. Tonight I'm planning on pilates as I wasn't up to it last week. I'm definitely feeling better and getting lots of encouragement from the girls at work, which is really helping. I'm not sure exactly how much I've lost since last Monday, as I only bought the scales on Friday, but I'm guessing around 6lbs. Mainly water. Yippee, only another 3 1/2 stone to go.

Right. Shower.
