...... do you realise we've been chatting now for almost 18months .

Berrie, thankyou for the very kind offer to mug your children. It's much appreciated .
Tbh the car only cost £150 last year so it's reached the end of it's days I'm afraid - we need to get another one.

I know the feeling though - I think I've done really well at the shops sometimes, but try as I might I can't get it below £100 a week. Must Try Harder.

Ah, have been talking about foods you've tried once and will never eat again. Got to go off and do internet banking which I've been putting off because I don't actually want to know what state the accounts are in but it's got to be done [nervous]

LyraSilvertongue · 07/01/2009 23:44

Gah. Got sidetracked by Moldygate and haven't done dreaded banking.

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 00:31

Gah! Got sidetracked by googling Mr Tennant.

Must. Go. To. Bed.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/01/2009 07:40

Goodness Oggs! That was a DT session and a half

Lyra, I think you need to watch the right movies . I braved checking my balance yesterday afternoon. It wasn't tooooo bad.

And what's Moldygate?

Berrie · 08/01/2009 09:29

Tee Hee this is more like it!

Nice to see you Binkle!

Oggs you nutter.

Berrie · 08/01/2009 09:33

I looked at the bank yesterday and found that we had £92.63 for the rest the month, ha!

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 09:33

Morning Berrie .

I'm allowing myself 15 more mins on here while I have a cup of coffee then I have to go and do something.

I spent most of yesterday waiting for youtube clips to unsuccessfully download .

Doing anything interesting today?

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 09:36

God, I daren't even look at the bank .

I think I need to be banned from Amazon and Ebay at the moment while I've got this obsession . This is the one reason I miss having a tv. I could tape all the progs rather than having to buy them.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/01/2009 09:48

If I had the wherewithall, I would record them and post them to you, but unfortunately....

And I've pretty much decided to bite the bullet on the cottage. I've emailed her to say I am interested, just as long as she's happy at the prospect of an energizer bunny 3 1/2 year old who wakes up at 5am and never stops talking or asking questions. Until he passes out unconscious aroung 7.30pm . What's not to like, eh?! Now all I need to do is beg my parents to give me the cash to buy an old banger to get me to work. Unfortunately, my dad's just bought himself a swanky new merc so is probably broke.

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 09:52

Aw, cheers Zeb but I wasn't fishing. It's our decision after all .

I very rarely miss having one, just in the case of Dr Who, Heroes, Merlin, Robin Hood... < begins to notice a theme developing >.

Hope it all works out with the cottage, I'm sure ds will adapt and you get to see more of each other which can only be good.

How far is it to work?

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 09:54
ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/01/2009 10:26

I want the series 2 Robin Hood dvd, but have you seen how much it costs?!

The travel to work is 15 miles, or about 30 mins drive depending on traffic. And nooooo, not on a moped. I'd look silly. I want a cute little polo or golf or something. I'm thinking DH won't part with the audi on a long term basis, he's going to be seething when I tell him about this anyway!

Berrie · 08/01/2009 14:38

Why will he be seething? Was it something to do with the complicated people? If so...don't try and explain

Oggs I believe that we can record onto a memory stick now. If you want to get one I am more than happy to record stuff and send it to you each week. They are dead small to post and not very expensive to buy I don't think.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/01/2009 14:53

Who knows Berrie? Actually, I think it's more to do with adding more people and therefore more disruption to DS's life or something. Which actually is rubbish, as kids loving having lots of people around.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2009 18:15

And he'll get to see more of his mum, which is surely a good thing. I hope it works out for you Zeb. Will you miss your flat and your short walk to work?

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2009 18:21

What is Moldygate, you ask Zeb.

Here's Morningpaper's summary:

OK here is a SUMMARY for you lot who are LATE

Back in October, Cod had her nasty stalkers and had to disappear from MN. Around the same time, lots of old posters became very disillusioned with MN and the newby influx and felt it wasn't really for THEM anymore.

Twiglett found an old old talk forum, set up in the time of the Last Great Time War legal action with Gina Ford, and emailed a few 'old school' MNers to join. Several of them signed up, and had a bit of an off-board natter. Twiglett found out how to password the site so that it could be private and not googlable.

But that created a dilemma - who should join? Should it just be a small group of people nattering, and who should join... and where should it stop? It started off by MNers being nominated in separate threads, and then people discussing whether or not they should join. That criteria was abandoned after the membership hit 50 or so and the criteria has now changed. (* citation needed)

In the early days there was some discussion about whether to invite MNHQ and this was debated, with some thinking yes and some thinking no. JustineMumsnet was told about it anyway and asked to join. She was offered an invitation but declined.

Over the weeks, more and more MNers joined. It was known as the MN Oldies board, shortened by the members to MNOldies and shortened by JustineMumsnet to Protestants Moldies. There are now between 150-200 members. The board is set up similar to MN with similar topics. The first rule of Fight Club MNOldies is that you are not allowed to Slag Anyone Off. It is primarily for support and chatter.

Dissenters are shot have expressed some concern over the divisive nature of the election process.

So then last week the MNHQ summary of the year mentioned: "the number of MNers grew and grew, with a few oldies -flouncing- budging up to make room for the many newbies"
which Twiglett felt was a personal slight against the MNers who had left for the Moldie camp. She wrote a strongly-worded rant about it.

This descended into a 3,600 post girl-on-girl fight.

All this happened around the sixteenth century.

There we are, that's saved you YEARS of research.

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 19:33

Zeb, I did compose and post (I thought) a considered response to your dilemma.

It was around the time I discovered I'd been googling DT images with 'safe-search' turned on. Upon realising this I spent hours a minute doing a gazillion couple of uncensored searches on His Sublime Tennantness.

The results kept me glued to the computer left me in a quivering heap somewhat flushed, and I expect in all the kerfuffle that I did not in fact post a response.

So. For what it's worth, I can't imagine that ds would have any problems accepting more people into his world - he had to get used to the AP after all - and any initial problems will be as nothing compared to the benefits of being able to spend more time with his Mum.
I'm sure it will just mean that he is confident and comfortable in adult company.
You won't know until you try it, and you are going into it with his best interests at heart.
Hope it all works out.

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/01/2009 20:16

Thanks Oggs - the guys at work said pretty much the same thing, so I think you're all on to something here. As you say, I won't know until I try it.

But I'll bet oggling googling DT was a bit dull if it was the censored version. So now you're making up for lost time I suppose?

Lyra, thanks for that summary - I vaguely recall something about it in the newspaper, but frankly couldn't be bothered to wade through all the blather to find out what was what! Did you get involved or just keep your head down, watching from the sidelines?

Anyway, far more important than all this. Zebs has just touched her toes for the first time since having DS. All a bit scary, I know. But having been to the Tone class thing on Monday, and finally more or less got my muscles working again, tonight I did bikini workout. Daft name for basically lots of unco-ordinated aerobics on my part, then about a million more sit ups and stuff. Owwwwwwww. Still, only another 3 stone to go so I don't squish DT when I jump on him.

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 20:22

Wow! Touching your toes. That's impressive. I can't even see mine

I too am de-flabbing. Yet again. I've lost 5.5lbs since Mon.

You would not believe the image you can find of DT without censoring . (I did notice on the Hamlet picture that his feet seemed very large .)

Also Mr Daniel Radcliffe

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/01/2009 20:30

Now you all laughed at me when I mentioned yound Daniel a while back. Harrumph! I too noticed the rather large feet on that poster, but wasn't sure if it was the light or they really are on the large side.

I can't tell you how much weight I've lost, mainly cos I don't own scales. Maybe I should buy some. I guess it would make the victory all the sweeter

But wow! 5.5 lbs is brilliant!!!!!! I'm dead impressed. What are you doing to make this happen, and can you keep it up? Or is it simply that DT has blown all thoughts of eating out of your head?

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 20:38

Please don't mention blowing in the same sentance as DT, you'll get me all het up.

Same as I usually do more or less. No potatoes, wheat, sugar or cow dairy products. Loads of water.
I can always drop up to about 10lbs in the first week as when I've been eating those things I bloat very badly. It'll be keeping it up that's the problem.
Need to lose 4 stone. I gained all I lost last year with interest. Hopeless.

Could murder a drink.

You?

ZebsRoomofHerOwn · 08/01/2009 20:48

About ready to murder a drink to. But I'll be strong.

This week I've basically been on slimfast, cup a soups, oatcakes and satsumas. Oh, and black coffee. Not ideal as a long term option, but I want to do the equivalent of jump starting it all. Once i feel I've shifted a bit, I'll then move on to 'healthy' eating, leaving out wheat etc and going for the salads and grilled fish and so on.

Please forgive my innocence, what's wrong with refering to DT and blowing in the same sentence? Is that naughty? Tee heee heee. I'm off to watch the new series of Hussle in a minute. Wotsisname is back.

OggsdogisaBadWolf · 08/01/2009 20:57

Ignore me. It's just me and my current;y filthy mind.
Enjoy your prog.

Berrie, that's really kind of you. I'll investigate. Thanks.

LyraSilvertongue · 08/01/2009 21:19

No, didn't get involved in Moldygate, in fact I missed it what with being ill/Christmas and everything. I caught up on it all last night after reading about it in the press.
A friend asked me today if I'd lost weight. I suppose I must have with all the illness so there is an upside to it all.
Binkle, what happened in the end with DD's anxiety? A friend (the same one) has a very anxious six-year-old and I said I'd see if I could find any advice for her on MN as she doesn't go on the net much.

Berrie · 09/01/2009 08:21

Morning all!

What is uncensored googling? Sounds like I am seriously missing something!
