hullo y'all

with the dreaded awful horrible nasty man-flu.........

JennstarOfWonder · 15/12/2008 16:25

We're eating out of the freezer. Stew tonight, prawn stirfry tomorrow, smoked haddock with mash and peas Wednesday, braised squid Thursday and bangers and mash Friday, (or maybe jigged around a bit).

I don't think I mentioned on this thread how I fell asleep yesterday? On all fours leaning over a beanbag while dd played with my hair. At one point the dc were whacking me over the head and I was oblivious. It wasn't just a short nap. 90 minutes later I woke up when dh came back with the dc from a walk.

Oh gawd so much to do, no time to do it all. I am SO tired it's untrue.

worleywinterwonderland · 16/12/2008 14:37

well took ds2 to the drs yesterday who refferred us straight up to the hospital, they thought he might have had a testicular torsion, but had righted itself by the time we got to the hospital, but as it was still swollen they then refferred us to the norwich and norfolk hospital 40 miles away, this morning they then decided he has an inguinal hernia and will have to have it operated on to fix it, but as its christmas next week and he has a cold they wont do it till the first week of jan. so poor boy has to live with it till then! thye wont do it at my hospital so we have to go back to the norwich nhs. they said if it comes out and he is in too much pain and it starts going red, (and they said if i cant push it back!!!!! wtf!!!!) then take him straight up to them!!!! i wanted them to do it next week as im on holiday but they wouldnt. so looks like im going to have use up my emergency holiday i have saved up for him to go in for the op!

he just cant be normal! ever scince he was born he has had to be different to every one else

ScroogeMacDog · 16/12/2008 17:17

ooh am actually starting to enjoy this new browser. I am such a technophobe.
Half of MN also trying it out, so LOADS of threads about it

Off to do something creative with sausages, maybe I'll even cook 'em

worleywinterwonderland · 17/12/2008 12:31

took ds2 to nursery this morning so i could finish wrapping presents, but got home and got called by nursery to say he had been sick so could i go pick him up again!!
so now home and he is 100% fine, demanding chocolate stars and egg (scrambled eggs, his fave) i think he must of had a bit of snot drip down his throat and made him gag/sick iykwim. (as he has a cold)
so no presents wrapped, he cant go to nursery for 3 days and i really needed to save my lieu time days up for his op in a few weeks, blooming typical,

watched lazytown, fireman sam and now on go diego go.

worleywinterwonderland · 17/12/2008 12:32

ScroogeMacDog · 17/12/2008 14:44

Firefox was recommended by a few people I trust, as well as some MNers.
Took a few mins to install and I'm getting the hang of it now.

worleywinterwonderland · 17/12/2008 14:55

they said on the news this morning to get firefox as well. ds1's pc has firefox on it from when bil had it. so hes ok.

LetMeEatCake · 17/12/2008 15:20

how outrageously expensive is it at national trust places! £4 just to park, the daylight robbers!

ScroogeMacDog · 18/12/2008 12:02

Dh's Gran died this morning
Trying to get in touch with him at work, but he's out of the department.
His mum's mum. Been ill for long time, but still a shock

ScroogeMacDog · 18/12/2008 12:42

Got him. he's on way home.

will catch up soon, x

worleywinterwonderland · 18/12/2008 15:00

thinking mr macdog, not the best time, not there is a good time, but hugs to you all.
xx

worleywinterwonderland · 18/12/2008 15:02

i looked into joing the national trust, as you were able to cash your tesco vouchers in for a years membership but they have now stoppped it.
we have the heath near us that we go to a lot and its bvery expensive to park there, so now we have a dog again we will be going lots again so may be worth us joining to save on carparks. plus you can get in free then at lots of places.

ScroogeMacDog · 18/12/2008 18:47

We joined NTS with a buy 12 months get 6 months free deal.
Culzean Castle is NTS so we use it a LOT.
Paid for membership with a few visits.
Looking forward to taking dd different places with it too.

Just back from the PIL. no word yet on funeral, but possibly Tues

JennstarOfWonder · 19/12/2008 06:36

Sorry to hear your news Macdog. Our sympathies to MrMacdog.

Been up since 4.30 curtesy of ds. He woke up, I managed to get him back down, I stayed awake. Got a bit more packing done. We are completing today, and moving tomorrow.

ScroogeMacDog · 19/12/2008 09:43

This whole thing with dh's gran has got me a bit as well as
Found out last night that she was taken into hospital on Monday night and the family were all told to expect the worst.
She rallied a bit, but on Wed night the family were again called. PIL + family spent night at hospital. Gran died 9am Thursday.

I am a bit and that no-one even let us know that she was that ill. His choice to go and see her was taken away from him
dh's mum didn't want me to tell him at work either, but "just wait till he gets home"(?)
Aye that'll be right. Felt it was something he should be told as soon as I could.

Still no word on funeral, fingers crossed that they let us know when THAT is

ScroogeMacDog · 19/12/2008 09:44
