So, DH hasn't had a bath in 5 years...

Would put this in AIBU, but I know I'm not BU

He cannot understand why I think it's utterly that he hasn't had a bath or shower in 5 years. He thinks a good wash suffices I don't think it does!

How on Earth can I convince him? I shower once a day, and like to bathe the DD's at least every other day. How often do your DP/H's have a bath/shower?

Lol Kew. Yes I do see what you mean. Think I should have put 'occasionally' in there somewhere.

I suppose I just think it's plain weird not to hop in the shower if you can (which he can) instead of tarting about having a wash.

Just wanted to gauge opnions on how odd/not it is really

DH showers daily. Will occasionally miss a day and will occasionally have two in one day.

Flower3554 · 09/09/2008 15:53

Warning!!!!

Do NOT watch that clip with mascara on

Jazzicatz · 09/09/2008 15:53

This thread is very funny!

My dp goes days without bathing or showering and I can't remember the last time he brushed his teeth. But its ok cos we sleep in separate rooms!!!

misdee · 09/09/2008 15:54

dh didnt bath or shower for over 2years.

CashmereKate · 09/09/2008 15:55

That is revolting. How can anyone not shower or bath every day at least once.

Boak.

CashmereKate · 09/09/2008 15:56

Not aimed at you misdee obviously () but at the OP!

misdee · 09/09/2008 15:57

Jazzicatz - lol. Glad he's not the only soapdodger

Yes, but Misdee, Peter had a damn good reason!

"I can't remember the last time he brushed his teeth"

God I feel sick

Dropdeadfred · 09/09/2008 15:59

Seriously - that is grounds for divorce. Unreasonable behaviour.

misdee · 09/09/2008 15:59

one of the patients did divise a way of showering with the LVAD but it was risky. and not soemthing recommended.

Divvy · 09/09/2008 16:02

Does he at least wash his bits in the sink? Else I wouldnt go down there!

misdee · 09/09/2008 16:04

but soem people dont like water. if he is washing well and doesnt smell, then i wouldnt haev a problem.

but if he was lacking in personal hygiene completely then i would insist on him showering twice weekly minimum, and if he refuased, soaking him with a cold hose at every oppertunity./

VinegarTits · 09/09/2008 16:07

I had an ex once who was a soapdodger, he did smell, not of bo or anything, just had a stale smell about him, maybe your dh does smell but your so used to it you dont notice anymore

zippitippitoes · 09/09/2008 16:08

how can you stay with a partner who doesnt clean his teeth

Love2Shower · 09/09/2008 16:11

Divvy - that's what I find a bit the thought of him washing his bits in the sink!

That's a bit strong Dropdeadfred?

You think so....someone who has no medical reason for uncleanliness shows so little respect for you and himself that he cannot even bother to be clean...

I would NOT be with someone like that...no way ...
