had quite a heavy downpour here (Stourbridge) this morning but now it's beautiful sunshine so looks like it will melt

Yes have had snow since Saturday and had enough to make a snowman on Sunday. Thank God as ds kept on going on about it. Its turned more slushy then frozen again several times since then and also showers of hail. Likely to be more snow again tonight. Live 20 miles south of Aberdeen. Scotland that is not Australia (someone from the SE England did actually think that)

RTKangaMummy · 22/02/2005 09:39

Took photos of DS in garden before school this morning in the snow so that if it melted during day would still have picture of it.

Snow on the hills but just nasty frost on the ground . Absolutely bitterly cold too.

Lots of snow here again today. It was sunny yesterday so the snow melted and I went shopping.

Today it looks more beautiful and ds is excited to go out and make a snowboy!

Beansmum · 22/02/2005 10:10

it's snowing it's snowing it's snowing it's snowing!!!!!! I wish ds was bigger so we could go and play, I might go and play by myself and make him sit in his pushchair and watch! Or alternatively I could go to a lecture on combinatorial theory.

zubb · 22/02/2005 10:15

very disappointing here - looked promising for half an hour or so as it came down. Ds1 got excited about making a snowman - checked I had a carrot for him and everything, then just after I'd dropped him off at pre-school it all stopped, and it's now sunny, and no sign of the snow at all.

Lonelymum · 22/02/2005 10:21

It snowed in West Sussex last night and this morning but it is nearly all gone now. You should have seen my 4 kids last night when it was snowing quite thickly: running up and down the garden laughing and catching the snowflakes on their tongues. They have hardly ever seen snow before and were so excited. It quite brought a tear to my eye! (but perhaps that is not so surprising given my emotional state right now!)

Nope.

JanH · 22/02/2005 22:50

Lonelymum, I do hope that eventually you will get past this blip and be able to enjoy all your kids' enjoyment of everything. Vicarious pleasure can be even better than DIY you know!

LGJ · 22/02/2005 22:51

Fuuny that KATG isn't it

eidsvold · 23/02/2005 04:42

none here again today ( as she looks out on a lovely 30 degree sunny day) if it is any consolation - it snowed where we used to live and is -2 degrees......

a light covering and thats it!

LGJ · 23/02/2005 07:52

Rickman

Fast forward about 3 or 4 hours and you all have cabin fever

I am sure the roads will be fine, but the decision has to be yours.

I know what I would do and I only have one.

Bagpuss30 · 23/02/2005 07:53

I woudn't, but then I haven't really enjoyed driving anywhere with the children since our accident a year ago. I will walk to nursery, despite there only being a light coating of snow outside. I hope it melts soon as I really need to get to tesco this morning. Will the school let you keep them all off?

SeaShells · 23/02/2005 07:57

About 1cm of snow laid here.....arrgghhhh panic! Should I get in supplies, candles, tins of beans, wait it out? Or do I have to venture out and take DS to school in these damned polar conditions? Where's my wellies.............

jessicasmummy · 23/02/2005 08:01

just spoken to dad who is in ipswich - apparently 3-4 inches there.

phone the school - explain the situation, and advise them you dont feel safe driving them into school today. im sure they will be fine, say as long as all ok tomorrow, they will be back then. thats what i would do - we only have a sprinkle outside and i am refusing to drive anywhere til its all gone!

Frizbe · 23/02/2005 08:37
