My Vauxhall Corsa was great. Latest is an Audi A3 which is good for me too - 5'2

Sticksareforlookingat · 23/02/2024 20:07

5"2 and only ever owned Fiat 500s. Absolutely love them.

MrsLurkalotagain · 23/02/2024 20:10

Highly recommend mini! They are good for the soul. I've had 3 and I don't think I can ever drive anything else!

DancingFerret · 23/02/2024 20:20

Not a recommendation for a specific vehicle as such, but I'm not exactly tall and my only "non-negotiable" have when buying a car is a height adjustable seat. My current vehicle is a Freelander.

Just to say in some cars (generally the larger higher spec ones) you can also change the position of the steering wheel which is very useful indeed.

CuteOrangeElephant · 23/02/2024 20:22

I am getting a Peugeot e-208 next week!
Its a lovely car. Smallish but comfortable for passengers as well.

Tulipvase · 23/02/2024 20:26

I don’t drive so don’t have much to contribute but to say my husband has talked about a hypothetical fiat for our daughter who is barely 5ft. I pass 3 on my regular walk to work and they all sound like a bag of spanners.

I appreciate this is anecdotal.

MadKittenWoman · 23/02/2024 20:30

I'm 4' 9" and have a Fiat 500 Anniversario. It looks fantastic, been to Italy 3 times and we can pick up all sorts of furniture in it and take loads of stuff to the tip / recycling centre by dropping the back seats. You can park it anywhere. Best purchase ever. Had it 5.5 years and only ever had to replace 2 tyres due to potholes.

lochmaree · 23/02/2024 20:32

my mum has a Toyota aygo and she likes it. I had a Peugeot 108 (same car) and liked it. I also had a hyundai i20 which is slightly bigger but nice too. and my sister had an i10 which is more similarly sized to the aygo/108.

Cushionsandcaramel · 23/02/2024 20:36

Toyota Aygo. So reliable and easy to drive, too.

FlutteryButterfly · 23/02/2024 20:47

Toyota Aygo

Sticksareforlookingat · 23/02/2024 21:30

I'm pretty sure they're doing away with Fiat 500s in automatic sadly

Mairzydotes · 23/02/2024 21:35

Smart car

kitsuneghost · 23/02/2024 21:37

Small cars don't always mean good for small people.
I have heard minis have deep pedals and my aunt struggled with hers (some years ago mind, they may have changed)

Dostadning · 23/02/2024 21:40

Kia Picantos are fab for pootling around. No road tax. No emissions city charges.

SmashedPrawnsInAMilkyBasket · 23/02/2024 21:44

I’m 5’ 3” with short legs, and my last three cars have all been VW group: VW Polo, Seat Ibiza, and Skoda Fabia. They are essentially the same car under the body, with VW engines etc. All brilliant cars, all easily adjustable to get a good driving position without being jammed up against the windscreen, reliable, cheap to run and very safe.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/02/2024 21:44

Dam meets your description and has a Fiat Panda. I'm not sure they still do news ones as automatics, but there are used ones around.

Oldermutt13 · 23/02/2024 21:44

Seat Ibiza - great little car, nippy, reliable and perfect for a short driver.

I agree, being short, you have to virtually lie down to reach the pedals. Hate driving them.

Exactfare · 23/02/2024 21:45

Kia picanto! Very reliable and cheap to run, I've had mine for 10years

Justleaveitblankthen · 23/02/2024 21:46

Toyota Aygo in the beautiful blue.
Little workhorse.
Can't go wrong with a Japanese car.

SmashedPrawnsInAMilkyBasket · 23/02/2024 21:46

Also: leaky convertible roofs or hard to tote around hard tops. But immensely fun to drive 😁

Not recommended as a first and only car though!

Newusername87 · 23/02/2024 21:47

i have a Fiat 500 convertible. In the summer, top down, you can easily mistake the trip to Tesco for a drive down the riviera…

Iheartmysmart · 23/02/2024 21:48

Smart ForTwo convertible. Best fun ever. I’m just under 5ft tall and love mine. Tiny enough to park anywhere but big enough to fit all my camping gear in when I go away.
