Hyundai i10?

LadyKenya · 23/02/2024 19:01

I like the nissan micra.

Hellocatshome · 23/02/2024 19:02

Peugeot 108 or Citroën C1 which are actually the same car underneath.

Whattheflipflap · 23/02/2024 19:04

I love my Citroen c3

popplego · 23/02/2024 19:05

I absolutely love my Mini! Had it for about 6 years now.

strawberryblue · 23/02/2024 19:06

@popplego I am in love with the mini but people keep saying problem with lights and the acceleration is a lot for a new driver or something??

I had a Yaris hybrid auto as a courtesy car and it was great. Toyota very reliable too.
I previously had a manual mini, and it was quite thirsty and expensive to maintain

RokaandRoll · 23/02/2024 19:08

I love my honda jazz. They're known to be extremely reliable. Mine's an automatic and is very easy to drive.

TomatoketchupfromMandS · 23/02/2024 19:09

I second the Honda Jazz! Love it.

popplego · 23/02/2024 19:19

@strawberryblue Touch wood, I've never had an issue with my Mini in 6 years (it was 3yo when I bought it). As for the acceleration I've never heard that before, it does pick up speed well for a small car but I guess it's just a case of test driving one and seeing how you feel. 6ft tall DH also loves driving my car 😂

LIZS · 23/02/2024 19:22

Toyota Aygo or Yaris, VW Up (or one of its equivalents)

StephanieSuperpowers · 23/02/2024 19:23

Suzuki Ignis? You'll never need to see a garage.

RedDawg · 23/02/2024 19:24

I’ve had Micras for years, I’m a smudge under 5 foot. My latest one I have had for almost 12 years 😊

Nowtbettertodo · 23/02/2024 19:24

Recently driven both a Hyundai i10 and Fiat 500

Loved the Hyundai, hated the Fiat!

AgMaggy · 23/02/2024 19:25

Mito

jellycat · 23/02/2024 19:32

If you’re small, I’d recommend getting one with a seat that can be raised up so you have a better view of the road. Mine has a handle at the side to adjust the height and there’s quite a bit of difference between the lowest and highest positions (it’s a Fabia but my old Golf had the same. We also have a bottom of the range Skoda Citigo which doesn’t have the handle to adjust the height, and I don’t like driving it because I feel I don’t have such good visibility of the road).

Haggisfish3 · 23/02/2024 19:34

I love my vw up.

Agree and I've just sold mine for the same price I bought it for 2.5 years ago!

Andnowshesatoddler · 23/02/2024 19:36

I'm going to say a nissan juke if you can afford a newer model I love mine I'm a smidge taller but I love not feeling quite as small as I did in my city car.

strawberryblue · 23/02/2024 19:37

@jellycat that's a good point thank you!

Yep and I think the Toyota Aygo as well.

Unicorn34 · 23/02/2024 19:37

I love my Fiat 500 and would get another 100%. I am 5ft 2ins

strawberryblue · 23/02/2024 19:38

@Nowtbettertodo why did you hate the fiat? X

Have a look at Skoda. We had them for the last 20+ years. Very cheap to run and maintain. Extremely well built. Dh had a motorway collision with three fully laden lorries and the central crash barrier whilst driving at 70mph. Walked away without even a bruise. Car was a total write off as was the central reservation barrier for half a mile.

edit. I am 5’2” just!
