he stood on the bath mat in 'em, for God's sake!

He reckons 99.9% of the population would agree with him....

quick poll please?

And I do go in the bathroom in my outdoor shoes very occasionally - usually when I've just come in and am bursting for the loo. But mostly I wear slippers in the house.

I am pre-menstrual, can you tell?

I'm with you on this honey. But then I'm anal too

wobblystarryknicks · 15/12/2004 22:59

I'm very messy and not very anal but still can't understand that!!! Bathrooms are for socks or bare feet!!!

coppertop · 15/12/2004 23:00

It probably wouldn't bother me that much tbh.

Or thread titles, even

coppertop · 15/12/2004 23:02

Hurray for Feastofstevenmom! It's not just me!

joashiningstar · 15/12/2004 23:04

Agree with lockets - no outdoor shoes allowed in our house past the kitchen. Once had an argy bargy with a young policeman who refused to take his boots off ...left him standing in the rain whilst his colleague who was more accommodating (bless her)...obliged. They'd only come to collect a colleague (DH) for work.

moondog · 15/12/2004 23:04

No outdoor shoes in the house EVER!!
Can't work out why people buy lovely flooring/carpet and then trail dog shit, gob and chewing gum onto it (cos that's what's on the street)
Also cuts down on housework enormously.
Here in Turkey it would be the height of bad manners to go into someone's house with shoes on. I have visited very poor remote villages bang in the middle of mud slicks with no running water or electric and the houses are immaculate because of this.

cardigansarenotjustforxmas · 15/12/2004 23:07

Shoes off at my house apart from evening dinners etc when guests wear their special shoes - we have loads of slippers for guests at other times if need be

He says he's logging on and joining MN when I've gone to bed and posting loads of messages under different names to say it's anal not to wear your shoes in the bathroom.

So if that happens it's my dh....

Exactly what the Turks do,Cardigan (and boy have Iworn some unattractive plastic beach style sandals in the short time Ihave been here.)
Hey, there's a thought. Buy a particularly brutal pair and reserve them for your lovely sil...

InDulciJulieF · 15/12/2004 23:12

we have such a manky carpet that we took the mickey out of one friend who took his shoes off one day ... it will go as soon as money permits! (our carpet infamous as the pub floor Axminster, carefully chosen by DP's mum back before time began - if you drop something you need the Dyson to find it)

PaRumPumPumScum · 15/12/2004 23:16

my indoor shoes are also my outdoor shoes so I agree with you both, mm;)

Starofbethlibbhem · 15/12/2004 23:17

It goes without saying that outside shoes in bathroom are the least of my worries . . .

Carla · 15/12/2004 23:19

My clogs. Always. But they are retired from outdoor use

JanH · 15/12/2004 23:20

I wear my outdoor shoes in the bathroom to keep my feet clean.

(Really must replace that disgusting carpet...)
