Help me name my puppy!

We have had one of these threads recently I know, but it is my turn to need help this time! Female, silver, standard poodle puppy. Delicious little thing. Has to be two syllables, and not an "oo" sound (eg not Suki) because that is the sound of my other dogs name and it needs to sound different when shouted over long distances...

Any ideas?

tiredemma · 03/12/2004 10:04

simba...(like the lion king!)

5goldendillydallys · 03/12/2004 10:04

Poodles = French
Silver = old Lady stylish
therefore Jacqueline, Catherine or Audrey

JuniperDropofbrandy · 03/12/2004 10:16

Argent = silver in french.

Don't know if it makes a good puppy name though?

nailpolish · 03/12/2004 10:17

TumbleflumpDancingBum · 03/12/2004 10:19

AzureSelfaMerryLittleChristmas · 03/12/2004 10:26

Snow Queen - the right sort of colour, seasonal (well, for now) and with a royal link.

Tania2 · 03/12/2004 11:12

Dont know if this has already been sugested but hows Jazz. We named our dog that cause she was so irratic (sp?) like jazz music.

suzywong · 03/12/2004 11:14

Ahem, I hardly thing suzie is a suitable name for a dog

fantastic load of names everyone, thank you!
can't use simba, that is another dog in the village (good name though!). Can't use Stella as that is MIL! Like the idea of stella/star etc . Tania, funny you should mention Jazz because her registered name is Miss Jasmine, so we were thinking of that.
My dh has announced that he won't give a dog a human name, so all the nice girls names are out (which is annoying as I rather like Bella - will try and convince him it isn't a girls name, it just means beautiful in italian!)
Interesting how many of these names are ames of dogs we already know - Cleo, Holly, Coco, Xusie (sorry SWong!)

Love Tosca and Lola.
So at the moment our shortlist is Jazz, Bella, Magic (well, thats what ds1 wants!), Diva, Tosca, Lola...

Duchess?

Sasha?

Mara (means lioness, so maybe not for a poodle)

SilentBite · 03/12/2004 12:13

MIL had beautiful silver point siamese called Tosca, that's where I got the name from btw.

SilentBite · 03/12/2004 12:14

Oh I always thought Koshka was a good name for a dog as it means cat in Russian!

TumbleflumpDancingBum · 03/12/2004 12:14

princessinapeartree - so glad you like Bella...

MrsDoobaubles · 03/12/2004 12:17

Tumble... do we know who you are yet? I still can't think
