I'm back from the dentists, no hideous injection today fortunately. I think being pg messed my teeth up despite religious teeth brushing.

am I just missed Egg, but glad you made it here today and the pics are gorgeous .

I spent £50 in sainsburys on Sat on nappies and dh hit the roof despite my justifications although I had just bought the shoes! I shall tell him you spent £200 to make me feel better.

Phono - sorry you are feeling poorly, can you find a large bar of choccie? thank you for goodies, please let me pay you the postage?

Dressedup, pleaaaaaaaaaaaaase link us to your website.

Hello Squonk & Fred

MightySquonk · 16/01/2008 10:44

oh feck, marmite! tis 'orrible when they do that. Try to sleep as much as you can under your desk without anyone noticing...

Dropdeadfred · 16/01/2008 11:37

OOoh marmite thats crap..is she ill or teething?
Squonk..whats with the Mighty Squonk today?

I wonder if dressedup will ever show us her jewellery?

OP posts:
MightySquonk · 16/01/2008 11:58

people have been calling me the mighty squonk and I said I would be quite happy to be the fairly nice squonk, but then they directed me here so I decided to be Mighty for a while.

Tomorrow I think I shall be quite nice squonk though

And no, it doesn't look like dressedup will ever show us her website (go on dressedup, you know you want to )

morning ladies

How is everyone today?

Happy one week birthday to J and R

Egg · 17/01/2008 10:18

Morning MightySquonk (and other Zappatas of course).

Just managed to type long post on Feb thread and now need to feed babies so will have to come back for a proper chat with you later .

Had a pretty good night and dropped DS at nursery this morning (only 1.5hrs after he could have started, so not bad!).

Hope everyone is ok, and marmite that your DD is sleeping better. I seem to remember with DS that it was easier to cope with bad sleep when he was newborn as you expect it and are prepared, but if you have bad nights when they are older it is so much harder (and I never had to get up for work).

Egg · 17/01/2008 12:35

Right have now updated my profile to say I have THREE children. Couple more pics but ones you have seen on email I think.

WHERE ARE YOU ALL???

MightySquonk · 17/01/2008 13:24

here miss

busy busy busy here today (and I was chatting on other threads ) The neighbours dog just nipped me! Our neighbour sadly died at the beginning of the week and her daughter and son in law are staying at her house to sort things out. Went to stroke dog (as I normally do) and she went for me... I was a bit but have gracefully decided that doggy is probably a bit lost and missing her owner so have forgiven dog.

Didn't break the skin so not worried, just glad it was me and not ds as I had seconds before said "go on, ds stroke the dog, she doesn't bite" That'll bloody teach me!

Dropdeadfred · 17/01/2008 15:11

Here miss..I have been steam cleaning my lounge carpet

Squonk, glad you're okay. Guess at some point you ill be having ne neighbours. Was your neighbour old/ill or was it a shock?

Sorry to hear the mourning dog bit you, but at least it wasn't your lo's or they could have a real complex about dogs in the future.

Hi Egg...how are the babies? Hows ds1?

I read the comments the nursery staff made about you and your flat tum

Is the other problem any better now since you have a lot less weight to carry?

OP posts:
MightySquonk · 17/01/2008 15:14

twas a total shock. The dog is about 15 and her husband has doctors and nurses to visit every day to get him out of bed and give him his medicine so her going first was a completely out of the blue!

oh feck, is that the time? got to go and get dd2 - back later

Egg · 17/01/2008 15:50

Hello just checking back quickly.

Fred the "other problem" I am not sure about. Have not looked or felt too much but it was certainly better the week before I gave birth. It is not dragging on the ground....... .

Squonk at the dog but he must be very confused. VERY lucky it was not DS though.

Babies are really FAB, I know it wont last but they are being so very easy. They are more of a problem at night as don't seem to just pass out again after feeds quite so well, but all in all they are quite easy.

DS1 is lovely. I am seeing just how grown up and handsome he is. He has been at nursery all day and so we have been so relaxed here, not having to worry about him falling on DS2 and DD (sounds strange to type that!). He tears around the place at top speed so trips over things a lot, and he likes to rock them in their little chairs rather more violently than I think is good.

Am going for a lie down now, DH was on his exercise bike so I was waiting for the bedroom to be free but must make the most of this hour before DS1 is home.

My dad is coming to visit tomorrow just for the day, and my sis and family are coming one day at the weekend, but will pop on and off to see what is going on.

Is everyone else ok btw, I seem to talk about me me me all the time ?

MightySquonk · 17/01/2008 15:53

egg - you are absolutely entitled to talk about you. It's what we all want to know about

Have your sis's children seen the twins yet? Wish I had newborn twins

Well, good newborn twins

Dropdeadfred · 17/01/2008 15:54

Thats cos you are the one with the biggest bestest news!!

OP posts:
Egg · 17/01/2008 15:59

Sis and family not seen us at all yet. They are VERY excited. Kids are desperate to see babies. As is my sis actually. Think even BIL is keen!

Off now...

marmitemad · 17/01/2008 17:26

I'm here miss (although rather late )

Had to leave early (08:30am ) this morning for swimming in Chineham at 09:30am. Made it through rush hour with 10mins to spare, dd seemed to enjoy it more this week although was still rather clingy and would not let go of the toy fish once it was given to her . Got home for 11:15am and MIL turned up early at 11:30am for lunch and sewing machine lesson. I had hoped to catch up on here first but didn't get any further than turning on pc. When she left at 2pm I decided to have a quick walk down to swings which was a bad idea, got absolutely drenched on the way back . Have now just spent last 2 hours catching up on sky+ and playing with dd in front of the lovely warm fire.

thanks for the matchsticks et al yesterday, choc was expecially appreciated (I ate a whole pack of matchmakers last night ), had a better night with dd only waking at 02:30am, 03:30am and 04:30am but easily settling each time and I only heard/got up the first time . I think it must be a combination of teeth and the separation thingy as she is suddenly really clingy with me (cries even when I walk out of room), but I am a little worried that she is getting into a habit of crying so we go into see her.

I love your new name, Squonk and at the dog bite, hope you are ok.

Fred - do you fancy steam cleaning my entire house?? it would be no trouble at all.....

Egg - lovely to have you back with us . Glad the babies are doing well and ds is getting on with them. what days does he go to nursery again? hope you are getting lots of rest during the day? don't worry about talking about yourself we love to hear all your updates.

Squonk - do you know I keep catching myself dreaming about having (good) twins, when I was little I always said I would have twin babies but eventually realised how much work that would be, I am also spending a lot of time reminiscing about being pg a year ago.

Dropdeadfred · 17/01/2008 19:44

Marmite I am always reminiscing about being pregnant..

OP posts:
MightySquonk · 18/01/2008 09:22

fred

Every time I try to fit into my jeans I reminisce about being pg

Am not sure that my name is "me" I may have to change it to something a little less.... mighty

egg - I presumed that at least your sis had been to see you in the hospital. Tis fab that they are all coming to see their new nephew and niece tomorrow (?) and also fab that they can do everything while you go to bed (or MN )

marmite - bleurgh on the getting up three times in the night. I can brag about not getting up at all last night because dd2 slept all night IN HER OWN BED!!!!! again. (that's four times now) so am well rested and ready for what the day may bring.

Phono - you got money today?

Dropdeadfred · 18/01/2008 09:24

Squonk..I think I owe your clever dd2 a lolly....

Thanks for the hugs btw ( never had hugs from a mighty one before...)

Hi all, how is everyone today?

OP posts:
MightySquonk · 18/01/2008 09:26

fred - I'll give her a lolly out of my secret stash and tell her it's from her auntie fred

morning all,
have been very productive and cleaned bathroom, kitchen & utility room this morning by not turning on pc straight after breakfast but am catching up now as dd is still asleep despite the massive diggers over the road repeatedly shaking the house .

dd woke 3 times again but I didn't hear her at all so dh had to deal with her. he said the third time she was really upset and did the usual thing of sleeping while being held then screaming when being put back in her cot, she eventually settled when he left the door open and bathroom light on so it may be that she is feeling lonely/scared? anyho he has agreed we can look for a stronger nightlight to see if that helps .

Squonk - am very of your nights but well done to dd2, hope it continues.

Fred - sending you hugs as well in case I was being insensitive, how are the wedding plans going?

I lost 1lb at RC class last night despite not deserving it due to the choc, will have to try and work extra hard now so I don't put any on for next week . exercise was good fun though, despite sore knees.
