Had to start a thread on this. Did anyone else spend half their time cringing and covering their eyes? And the other half laughing raucously?
Such a superb programme - can't wait until next week for the next installment.

Agree Fionn - funniest yet - that bird costume, with those dangly legs - poor David! I'm really beginning to resent the Swindon lot! Just want him to get it right for once (all be it inadvertently!) I too end up watching from behind my hand as its too cringeworthy!

Fantastic, "Slough's a big place...and then there's Taplow..." Think UK Gold are repeating the first series which I missed, so I'm very pleased.

Fionn · 04/11/2002 22:54

What pathos!

Willow2 · 05/11/2002 00:01

Bracknell, Winnersh.... Early.....
Oh my God, am still uncurling entire body from foetal position.

agaazaa · 05/11/2002 05:07

was that the last one?

VJR · 05/11/2002 10:45

yes agaazaa that was the last one and wasn't it fab?

Poor Tim! Don't you just want Dawn to run away with him? That's what makes the Office so brilliant is that they don't (and probably never will). If it had been any other drama esp an American one all would be resolved and they would run off blissfuly happy into the sunset but not the unbearably cringe making, cruel world that is Wernham Hogg! I love it.

Will there be another series? Gareth as the new boss? David taking over Dawn's job? - I can't quite see it!

bells2 · 05/11/2002 11:11

Sad I know but I have just confirmed that Dawn also plays Hayley in the Archers. Been bugging me for ages. The return of Alan next week will certainly cushion the blow of losing Gareth et al.

Lil · 05/11/2002 12:50

Well spotted Bells, I'd never have connected them in a million years!

Marina · 05/11/2002 13:07

And did you also know she is Jasper Carrott's daughter? I think she's a good actress and a really sweet gal. Agree that potentially the return of Alan will help compensate for the loss of the rest of them. NHS sitcom in place of Coupling looks a bit dodgy though.

And did you know that in real life, Dawn suffered with kidney disease and her mum donated one of her kidneys to her.

Yes, sorry to see the last of The Office but will watch the whole series re-run on satellite TV at the weekend.

Shame that Dawn rejected Tim again, but means that there's still a chance for me!! Then again, quite fancy that Neil bloke too (especially in the 70's gear)

Tinker · 05/11/2002 14:09

Hope this works ok -

Brent Dancing

ellasmum · 05/11/2002 14:11

Just watched the Office from last night - fantastic acting from Ricky Gervais/David Brent when he was asking for his job back - almost felt sorry for him.

Gareth as the boss!! Doesn't bear thinking about.

Does anyone know when Series 1 is on UK Gold??

agaazaa · 05/11/2002 14:18

I'm gutted, didn't realise it was the end.

I am going out to buy last series on video, must dash.

bettys · 05/11/2002 14:19

Tinker - ouch! I really wanted that clip to stop it was so painful!

agaazaa · 05/11/2002 14:19

Oh just about wet myself watching Brent dancing. Sitting here feeding dd and giggling.

bells2 · 05/11/2002 14:34

Tinker, I am computer illiterate but how can I forward that clip PLEASE???? (My husband's message header today reads "My son looks like Gareth Keenan". Ok, there may be some similarity in their wild eyed intensity and manic eating of wotsits but I still think its a tad unfair on a three year old!).

Tinker, I am having a rubbish day, so thank you so much for that deeply silly clip.

Rhubarb · 05/11/2002 16:07

Pamina - yes I noticed that too, I sat transfixed for a while! How bizarre!

Tinker · 05/11/2002 18:58

Bells - the actual link is :

Hope that works.
