I hate selling houses (even more than buying them!)...

we put our house in the market in sept and the first people thro the door offered us asking price...the sale fell thro last week (no reason given) so we have to restart the whole process having lost a (crucial) month...

the papers are all doom and gloom and we just really want to sell it (we can't live in it as it's in the countryside, originally we intended to move there, but it hasn't worked out, and we can't leave london, it's crippling us financially).

every day i wait for the agent to call,it's like when you really fancied someone and you had a sick feeling in your stomach waiting for the phone to ring...it's horrible...i know we probably won't sell before xmas and then there will be a massive crash and we are screwed...

no point to this post other than to express my tortured mind...argh, i hate it so much!

thanks for getting this far if you have...

It'll be great - walked from there to Thyme Cafe on Saturday. The food was fantastic :)

Viewers, three last week, but so far no offers. Hoping that with a more steady market, no interest rates and maybe a cut ( heres hoping ) that 2005 will bring cheer to all of us prospective sellers.

Hulababy · 13/12/2004 13:40

katzguk · 13/12/2004 13:43

not fair!! i will be heading straight for thyme cafe the minute after i give birth!!! Those new houses are so convienent for both crookes and broomhill. I just wish we could afford one!!

Are you going to rent in Crookes too? or stay put?

SpringCrimboTurkey · 13/12/2004 13:48

Just to keep you all posted - we have now sold our house and are moving out as we speak.
The new buyers are moving in on Monday.

However, new house not gone through yet - looking to exchange before Xmas then complete first week in January.
We are back at my parents over Crimbo which i wasn't to enthusiastic about - however, it's onlyfor a few weeks so i'm sure we'll manage.

I just don't know where to start on the packing - I've dealt with the loft so far and also the usual bits and bobs that are out (Books, DVD's Computer games etc).
It's all the big bits that are left now so i just keep staring at things that i should be packing and wondering where exactly to start - Nevermind, at least we'll be out of here soon! Grin Grin

Good Luck to everyone else who is going up in the new year - i'm sure you will be inundated with offers :)

Hulababy · 13/12/2004 13:48

Going to rent in Crooks - need to be in same catchment area as the new house, in case there is a delayin them being ready. Think we have to register DD for school arounf November time (or January) so it'll be touch and goa s to whether we will be in or not at that time.

Now have to find somewhere to rent. Blundells had a couple this weekend, and I think Saxton mee had one too.

Need to find out from our buyer when the completion mught be, so we can get sorted.

Have to buy a new car too so Dh can drive DD to nursery and then onto work.

Hulababy · 13/12/2004 13:49

SpringCrimboTurkey - good luck witht he packing - sometimes think that is the most stressful bit. Hope you are in your own place asap :)

katzguk · 13/12/2004 13:54

i can keep an eye out in the newsagents windows, they are often lots in there, if you want, then text you will any in find, guess you want 3 beds in Lygate/westways catchment?

Hulababy · 13/12/2004 13:59

Lydgate catchment - same as these hosues. Looking for a 3 bed house with a garden. Want a reasonably sized place with enough parking for 2 cars - hoping to have a drive for one of them at least. Oh, and unfurnished, apart from kitchen - we need a fully equipped kitchen!

Thank you :)

katzguk · 13/12/2004 14:01
