And being unsuccessful - FGS if the thread has been removed put me out of my misery .... pleeeeeease

KateandtheGirls · 22/09/2004 14:44

I'm doing the same thing soapbox.

I have a feeling I know WHO you're talking about though.

Bunglie · 22/09/2004 14:44

I must be REALLY stupid! I haven't noticed, but do only reply to threads if I have something to offer in the way of help/info.
I must admit I hate the idea of someone 'using' Mnet like this, sends a shudder up my back.

suzywong · 22/09/2004 14:45

I think it has been removed, don't know why but it certainly isn't there anymore

soapbox · 22/09/2004 14:45

Ah - that'll be why I can't find it then

I'm inclined to back up Galaxy on this one, I mean the only sure Troll I ever saw was an absolutey vile post made very late at night. It was really quite distressing and tbh these threads that are just a bit selfserving and whingeing are nothing in comparison to the kids of disgraceful abuse of MN that could, and have unfortunately, been going on.

fio2 · 22/09/2004 14:51

i hate these threads, they always make me paranoid

alot of people change their names as they dont want all and sundry to know everything about them - not me of course I think I have written my life diary through MN!

Bunglie · 22/09/2004 14:56

I only know of one 'troll' posting that was aimed at me and a couple of other MNers, however it was reported to tech and removed before I read it.
So I am very grateful to MN and to all for that little bit of kindness.

pixiefish · 22/09/2004 15:02

I think I know the thread you mean and it's still there- my first thought also was that it was the other poster as it's more or less the same problem just a different name... I did think of posting on it then reconsidered when I thought it was someone else if you know what I mean

Dingle · 22/09/2004 15:03

Am I losing all sense of what's important in life? Am I that naive and gullible? I still class myself as new, but I don't ever suspect people's comments to be wicked lies just to get a reaction! Do such people really exist? Perhaps I should change my name to ignorant or gullible!

pixiefish · 22/09/2004 15:05

After the Gina Ford bother the other week and the calpol nonsense last week... even though I also am fairly new I am getting sceptical of some threads

twiglett, I have not noticed either but would be sad if someone was doing this as afterall we are just trying to help each other!

yingers74 · 22/09/2004 15:11

galaxy - good luck with the interview

pixiefish · 22/09/2004 15:11

I aint being funny but someone accussed someone on here, who had admitted rape, of being a troll. i dont think its appropriate tbh and if you have your doubts contact mumsnet

One of the threads that got deleted had a link to a site that said all sorts of things about calpol- this fake poster kept winding things up, I bowed out early on but the poster later stated that he was a 14 year old boy doing it to get a reaction adn for a school project or something. There was also one a few weeks ago that got nasty and concerned Gina Ford. It involved threats of some sort against a member... not nice at all.
As fio2 said we shouldn't accuse without evidence so shall leave it to Galaxy or Twiglett's discretion as they have been here longer than me

pixiefish · 22/09/2004 15:18

Agree Galaxy

Good grief! 74 posts! I hope whichever problem-thread is being discussed has received one tenth of the posts that this discussion has, IYSWIM.

Blu · 22/09/2004 15:27

P.S I'M NOT A TROLL
