What does it say then next to the folders? Anything that may be the photos?

charliecat · 17/09/2004 16:42

By the way if this doesnt work im sure dp will know how to get the photos from the disk into a folder onto your pc and then you can do it easy as pie from there.

carla · 17/09/2004 16:48

CC I went
File open
browse
Look in (typed D for that drive and most irritatingly I can see the Boots icon)
[in white box below]
Hires
Lores
Viewer

And below in the File Name thing it's just empty. If you want to have a look the name is abigaillongshot and the password is annabear.
xx

charliecat · 17/09/2004 16:50

try clicking on the hires...or the lores and see what comes up

charliecat · 17/09/2004 16:51

canb i see these if i go to boots.com?
going to c if i can...

carla · 17/09/2004 16:56

Don't think so CC. I'd email them to you if my bl**dy email was working.

charliecat · 17/09/2004 16:57

where was the password for?

carla · 17/09/2004 17:04

When you click on photos and see that picture of a child and a dog it asks for a name and a password.

charliecat · 17/09/2004 17:11

LOL I think thats coz youve got the disk in your drive im afraid...dp will be in 6-7ish and ill ask how to get them from your disk to your pc ok?
Back in 5-10 packing stuff for a bootsale...

charliecat · 17/09/2004 17:15

Hmmm, when you put your disk in the drive does it ask you what programme you would like to open it with or does it instantly pop up?

charliecat · 17/09/2004 17:16

Because when I put my disk in it says it can copy these files to a folder on my computer using microsoft scanner and camera wizard...which would be absoultly ideal for you

charliecat · 17/09/2004 17:17

right really back in 5 now...this will be achieved tonight I am determined!

carla · 17/09/2004 17:42

Instantly (well, our PC is old .. 1 minute) comes up.

charliecat · 17/09/2004 18:48

Okey dokes..what are you on 95, 98 xp or what?
Sorry been gone so long ive bulldozed my house in the process of finding stuff for booty

Hulababy · 17/09/2004 18:54

If you find the Yahoo version more difficult, try www.photobucket.com

It's a website that allows you to register for free, and it's primary aim is to let you upload your photographs to ahre with others. It's all free and there appears to be pretty much umlimited amount of photos you can have, You can even have them set out into different albums for different topics. And you can make it password protected so only those you give the password to can access them.

It will even alter the size of your photos if they are too big in memory for the site.

Very very simple, quick and easy to use.

charliecat · 17/09/2004 18:56

And Hulababy will that solve the problem of getting them from the disk like Carlas trying to do?

Hulababy · 17/09/2004 18:57

Didn't read that bit, sorry.

So, what's the problem then. The pictures on a CD, yes? How did they get on the CD in the first place?

When she puts the CD in the CD drive what happens?

I know - I should go read!

charliecat · 17/09/2004 19:00

they automatically start to run, from what i can gather its a disk from boots, you know they develop your photos and you also get them on disk...I think she wants them either here on MN or just to share with folks in general...lot of assuming here though!

Hulababy · 17/09/2004 19:01

On Photobucket, you just clikc on Add Picture, and then browse through to where your photos are stored (hard disk, CD, whatever) and then click on the photo you want and press OK. Then it uploads.

I haven't used Yahoo one so not sure if it works differently.

Or is this a CD problem.

Hulababy · 17/09/2004 19:02

So when loaded up and it runs, can she exit them but without removing the CD?

Then she should be able to get into them using the normal explorer buttons.

I have a couple of Photo Cds from Jessops. I will go and see what they do.

charliecat · 17/09/2004 19:05

Cheers hulababy, i have mine on a disk but they have been burnt there from the pc as they were from my digital camera...
Do you mean can she exit the boots prog but stillhave access to the files?

Hulababy · 17/09/2004 19:08

OK, using a Jessops photo disk:

I put it in and it runs automatically and shows me the photos on screen.

But in top corner there is an exit cross, which I have pressed. So now they have gone.

Now in Photobucket and trying to brwose to find photos directly from CD....

Not obvious to find at first look, I have to say.

However, I knew that they wouldn't be the exe files so I went into one of the yellow folders instead

Inside that was another folder, clicked on that..

sure enough they were inside there to click on

Have long numeric names with a couple of characters.

Not sure if this helps. Hope it might!

charliecat · 17/09/2004 19:10

Right lets hope chandra comes along soon and see that...where exactly were they my photos, my documents?..

charliecat · 17/09/2004 19:10

Chandra? Carla for goodness sake. sorry thats me reading too many threads at once and getting mixed up

Hulababy · 17/09/2004 19:13

No, I went into the CD drive (D: drive on my computer)

So, on Photobucket, next to Add Pictures I clicked on Brwose
Then on the list of file locations I scrolled down until I could see D:drive
Then clicked on that and went through the folders until I found something that looked possible (as explained below)
