Is "Nurturing" a US word ?

Hello everyone,

I am testing something on my British friends..... is the word nurturing a US (mainly) word or would you use it ? and do you understand it ?
I am thinking of calling my UK doula "business" : Nurturing families because it's really about that... but maybe people won't understand it....

Site looks great. Just a quick comment as I whizzed through: I think its "The Contented Little Baby Book" not "The little CBB" (!) You could link to Amazon for the books as well (I think you get a commission). And you could add Mumsnet to your list of useful links!

Thanks Florenceuk... I did think of adding Mumsnet.... but then I thought they'd quickly figure out what my nickname is... so verdict out on that one...
