HELP - we are also trying to sell and it's a nightmare.

House been on since July and only had 3 viewings. Everyone saying it's the schools hols, you can write off August etc but it's 2/3 through Sept and no better. We really need to move by the end of the year so I'm getting majorly stressed out (actually having panic attacks which is quite frightening - had a baby 3 weeks ago so raging hormones don't help).

Our house is lovely inside - just had a new bathroom fitted and we are in prime schools location so what is up??

Anyone want it!?!?!? Larger than average, 3 bed semi in Altrincham, Cheshire - £285K (but will take offers!!!!!!)

Hulababy · 19/09/2004 11:22

I think it's the same everywhere Skate. We are in the same position - have a fab apartment to sell. Been on market since mid August. Had 5 viewings, more recent one last week. But no offers yet

But the house we have looked at seem to be pretty static too. Sam ehouses on the websites week in and out, so I really do think it's just a slow time. Apparantly the best time to sell is just after Christmas - but I don't want to wait that long!!!!

katzguk · 19/09/2004 11:51

just had a nosey at your house details hula!!

still no luck?

was wondering though have you only got an en suite bathroom as per the details?

katzguk · 19/09/2004 11:53

sorry me being rubbish hadn't notice the bathroom listed first!!!!!

Hulababy · 19/09/2004 12:08

LOL! No, we have both.

katzguk · 19/09/2004 12:22

you still hunting?

pretty certain the house next door to me is going on the market soon.

three beds, through lounge/dinner, good size gues at 160K, good sized garden, park at end of road, lovely nieghbours!!

good schools westways and king teds

Hulababy · 19/09/2004 21:01

Yes, still hunting but not massively yet. There are loads of houses we have seen that we like the look of, and have been round some too. Have up to £250k to spend altogether, but that includes any new ktichen/bathroom that might be needed. Fancy S7, S10, S11 or S17.

Want to go and see this one as it looks interesting. Garden needs work though as much taken up bby massive double garage. We would take that down to extend the garden, take all the overgrown shrubs down and lay lawn round frotnt, side and back. And then have a small off road parking space.

katzguk · 19/09/2004 21:11

house next door is going on for £140k this week but owner wants £150k. is identical to ours except its the middle house of three but the garden is quite big.

I would imagine that you would want to sort the bathroom out. If it like ours then the loo is separate from the bathroom - i hate this and as soon as we have any money we will change it!!

If you are after 4 bedrooms then you could also do what we are planning which is to extend off the back and great a downstairs study.

When the sign goes up will let you know which agent.

Should also add that the house has a garage up a small path in a block with others.

I looked at the details of the greystones house - very nice, agree about the garden.

katzguk · 19/09/2004 21:13

should also add that the views from the end of the road are amazing!!

Hulababy · 20/09/2004 20:55

Cheers Katzguk

Apparantly Thursday's viewer won't be putting in an offer . Apparantly our second bedroom is not large enough. Estate agent wasn't convinced with her though. Ours was by far the largest property she saw. He just doesn't think she can afford to live at West One.

sweetkitty · 20/09/2004 21:07

At least you are getting viewers hula, we have had one 2 weeks ago keep seeing nice houses on the net where we want to live but don't want to do anything until we get an offer on ours.

Hulababy · 02/10/2004 09:13

Well, we have just had another viewer. Couple fromt he coast. Definitely want to be in city centre and wanting an apartment. They want a decent sized one, and like the complex. Came at 8:50am!!! They seemed nice and positive, but who knows.

Skate · 02/10/2004 09:22

Oooh, Hulababy - hope they put in an offer.

We are still waiting - only had 3 viewers in 3 months.

So depressing when you just want to get moving.

Hulababy · 02/10/2004 09:23

This is our first for about 3 weeks. Viewers have now gone to see some more apartments with the estate agents who we bought these from. So depends on what they have to offer.

Kaz33 · 02/10/2004 09:31

Hi, been on the market for 3 weeks - one viewing, just taken drastic action and sacked agents and trying the sharks - Foxtons !!

ks - in Sheffield it very much depends on your estate agets. Our agents use a higher price and then you expect to get that price or a bit lower - people think they are getting a bargian. One of the other agents have lower prices, but then try and get people into bidding wars.

lilibet · 02/10/2004 09:41

We have dp's house on the market at the moment and we can't complain over the amount of people looking round - we have had about 16 in three weeks, some of them second viewings, but no one is buying. He was renting it out before and it was a bit of amess, so we spent 3 weeks decorating, clearing and buying stuff for it, such as new carpets, with Anne-Marie as our guide but no one is interested. Give me some honest opinions as to what we could do to make it better. It's a pretty average price for round here and is in a very nice area.

WN1 postcode 3 beds between 80 and 90 and his is the Spring Grove one

honest opinions and help please - we need to sell this house!

Hulababy · 02/10/2004 09:43

We are quite interested in this one . Excellent location, fab schools, all new, cost is very good, have spare cash to put mini extension/conservatory onto kitchen to make larger, and to do up the garden. Has loads of positives. Would be a great stepping stone to something larger when DD and #2 (if and when) are in the fab primary school.

lilibet · 02/10/2004 09:46

That looks really nice - I always fancied having a basement!

And the third bedroom is a good size too - some aren't even big enough to fit a single bed! I lived in house once where you had to have a 5foot bed instead of a standard one.

Hulababy · 02/10/2004 09:47
