Good luck, we're abut to exchange contracts, we put our house on the market in April, so it does take time, sometimes!
Good luck, hope the weather in Florida improves for you!

Ixel · 17/08/2004 14:07

Where is it? The house, I mean. And how much? I've got the urge to move, so all things housey are my fave topic at the moment, much to dh's horror!

2wildbabies,
my brother lived in Florida for a while. Feel free to ask any questions and I will interrogate him
He lived in Clearwater BTW.

2wildbabies · 17/08/2004 16:07

Gingerbear, we are looking at clearwater....apparently it is fairly safe around there. Is this true?? What area's would he recommend with children?? I'll have to think of loads of questions for you.

Our house is in Liverpool for £120,000. It's a semi with a huge garden...like a football pitch!!! I hate mowing it,lol!

Hi Pamina3... Wimbledon is out of our price range!! We're focussing our efforts on Barnet/Friern Barnet at the mo. Have just seen a 2 bed newish build for 190,000, which is unbelievable! But it'll be gone before we can get organised

Gingerbear · 26/08/2004 12:50

2WB,
brother is on holiday until this weekend, but I will ask him about stuff when he gets back.

he found some good schools, and they lived near a lake in Clearwater (will ak him the name of the area). my nephew was 10 and niece 7 when they lived out there. Clearwater was fantastic for the kids. After school they went straight to the beach and played for hours!

sweetkitty · 26/08/2004 14:06

we've just put our flat on the market as well, estate agent says the average time is about 4 weeks until an offer but they aren't exactly known for being truthful are they?

Skate · 26/08/2004 14:06

Is anyone finding it really slow? Our house has been on the market for 8 weeks and we've only had 2 viewers. Most people are saying it's just a bad time of year with school holidays but I'm panicky as we need to be out of here by new year. We are in a very desirable area schools wise (Altrincham in Cheshire).

Pamina I've been looking at listings round that area. I do like Wimbledon, but trading up is a bit of a step for us - also DH very very resistant to moving. Good luck for the move and sale-to-be!

Hi pamina - we're selling too and we have no viewings booked. We've had 5 vewings since June. We're in west Herts. Everybody loves the house but not the area (ex council house in grim estate). But we're cheap, cheap, cheap considering we're in the SE!!

Last accompanied viewing we had I was eavesdropping - the agent didn't know our house had a garage until the viewer looked out the window and asked her "What's that?!"

Hulababy · 02/09/2004 11:43

Our apartment is on the market too. Been on almost 3 weeks now. Had 4 viewings whilst we were away on holiday, and a second viewing but alas no offers. No viewings this week at all whilst we are home :( Been told by everyone that August is not a great month for house selling, and market should pick up again during next month. Hopefully!

Hulababy · 02/09/2004 11:47

Oh and we apparantly had the classing viewing. It become very apparant to the estate agent doing the viewing that the guy wasn't intersted when he ended the visit with "I only wanted to know what an expensive city pad looks like anyway". Argh!!!!!!

This is our property: search here

Search for:

2 bed
£175k to £200k
Apartment
City Centre

We are the 4th one down: West Tower,503, West One, City Centre

So how to get it moved?????

muddaofsuburbia · 02/09/2004 11:52

Hula - gorgeous flat!

I love that way the site has a button for "add to basket"

Hulababy · 02/09/2004 12:05

LOL! Well, some one maybe able to have more that 1 I guess!!! Just wish someone'd have mine now.

jampot · 02/09/2004 12:28

lovely flat Hula - are you going for that other lovely house you posted a few weeks ago?

Hulababy · 02/09/2004 12:38

No, that has now gone. If we had sold ours then we would have put in a higher offer (didn't go for asking price) but seemed no point as no idea how long apartment will take. Been to see a couple more .last night which were lovely - both have potential for extending, and one even has brand new planning permission - lasts 5 years I think - and all plans ready drawn up! One problem with the other we saw yesterday is that I am not convinced the owners will actually sell - she seemed very reluctant to be moving.

sweetkitty · 02/09/2004 12:53

ours been on for a week now one viewing so far

problem I have is that we have 3 cats and they live indoors, I think it may put people off even though I am always cleaning and you wouldn't think cats lived in the house.

can't put them anywhere when people come to view though
