Thinking of applying for a job in saltley, B'ham. does anyone know what its like? And suggest areas within 10miles or so that would be nice to live in. The job is in a school in saltley, don't want to live there or too close by! Thanks

nearly all of of my uni lecturers live in Moseley, you can just tell a Moseley type by looking at them.

Edgbaston has some of the most beautiful houses in birmingham, but it also has a massive red light district.

Birmingham is quite a funny place to live, bit like london I suppose, rich and poor living literally on top of one another.

I love Sutton Coldfield, its where I want to move to once I get a decent job.

Parts of it are nice, just incase anyone is gonna get offended, but the high street is so depressing, I hate it. It's full of cheap shops and crap.

I did live there for a while and never would again.

Yep Sutton is great, I know i am biased because I live here, but the town centre is fab, the surrounding parts ie boldmere, wylde green etc are nice and I love it.

Also, I lived on a road just off Kings Heath High street for much of my life. It was a lovely little high street yonks ago, but since I moved away, it's really gone to the dogs

I live in south birmingham and there are some lovely places.
Solihull, Knowle, Dorridge and surrounding areas are nice.

A few men that I 'dated' that happened to be from Erdington all ended up either in jail, or doing Community service. Think that sums it up.

Now Kingstanding.....where do I start.. its not quite the end of the world but you can see it from there.

I had an aunt who lived on castle vale and was offered an exchange to kingstanding, but declined as she said it was 'too rough'

KINGSTANDING ROUGHER THAN CASTLE VALE!! arf

My friend lives in Kings Heath and on the drive there we pass some nice bits but the bit where she lives in a council bit so not so nice really.

If I won the lotto, I would stay in Sutton, or Lichfield.

I live in Coleshill, which is nice, but is probably a bit far out for you.
