Did anyone else wibble as Strike's 5 Star performance in bed was mentioned?

LetUsPrey · 04/09/2017 22:03

Evening wenches. Total and utter shitter of a day.

Elk you need an HBF to rub things better for you. However, as Helen will attest, injuries never get better because the HBF tends to get distracted early on in the massage.

Madame you obviously need to practice your tongue placement and technique or something.

I see that Strike seemed to hit the spot with Team TB wenches Grin

Turns out that when you've got a bit of a bad back and sore hip, an hour of zumba is not the greatest idea.

Have just watched the second trailer for Thor: Ragnarok. Fuck. Me.

Have given up with work for tonight...

There's a nice review in the telegraph

LetUsPrey · 05/09/2017 08:02

Morning wenches.

That is a good review and some of the comments are .... unusual Grin

DC back to school today, although DS1 only goes in later. It's absolutely pissing it down.

Excellent plan LetUs

Not actually raining here, but it looks like it should be, and is the sort of day that the word 'dreich' was invented for. Sad there went SUmmer then...

Have spent the morning so far peeling and stewing windfalls - a somewhat tedious job, but requiring no mental effort, so my brain is free to wander off all over HBFs the place Grin

Oh - and a load of washing is done, but no idea what I'm going to do with it given the state of the weather. Back to turning the house into a chinese laundry I guess.

DS is glued to the computer - not back to school until tomorrow....

Morning wenches. Vile day here, Autumn has definitely arrived.

Rewatched on the big screen. Love, love, love TB as Strike. Athos S2 has always been my favourite incarnation, but now I'm not so sure. Confused

Loved the way he looked at his dishevelled self in the mirror after seeing Robin in the dress and ran his fingers through his hair in a vain attempt to improve matters. Grin

Although I knew it was coming, I could have cried when he gave her the dress though I could think of a better and cheaper bonus.

Ok, the plot was weak, as we knew from the book, but who cares?

Looking forward to Silkworm.

Wow!! Strike episode 1 was the top show for the week ending 27th August on BBC1 with a consolidated viewing figure of 7.77 million. Smile

ApricotCrush · 05/09/2017 11:20

I can't seem to link to the actual page, but here's a screencap of it.

Episode 3 had 5.4 million on the night, which is half a million more than ep 2. I think a lot of people didn't realise it was on. Victoria was 4.3 million.

(Sorry about all the posts, I'm just chucking the info on as I find it.)

SisterHelenoftheEternalCatchUp · 05/09/2017 12:18

Star for stats-wench & GIF-er extraordinaire apricot Grin

re. plot holes, someone on Twitter helpfully pointed out that the reason that John got Strike to investigate the 'suicide' was so that we would still inherit Lula's money if her Will came to light (her brother wouldn't have inherited if he was convicted of killing her) So that makes slightly more sense...

Have we linked to The New Statesman's review? It made me laugh because it said that it features "a detective inspector called Eric, who looks all of 12 years old". Which is exactly the age I said he looked when I was sniggering with DH. And clearly showing my age ("Don't policemen look young these days?") The review also includes a side-order of Victoria which made me laugh despite not having watched the programme. Grin

Hope Elk is doing ok with her gammy leg.

Though LetUs is quite right - HBFs are better at distraction than actual healing... enjoyable though the distraction is Grin

What a shitty day Sad

LetUsPrey · 05/09/2017 18:29

Evening wenches. Two days done of the working week.

Wonderful work on the stats and gifs. I reckon the draping on that dress would be very helpful.

Shall have a read of that later Helen.

Loved HG when TB went to grab on her the balcony when they were going over events. The expression on her face was perfect for Robin's reaction bearing in mind what happened when she was at university.

Is it work Wicked? Work is very shitty. What you need is some Cormoran Strike.

Oooh, LetUs - I thought that too - re. the balcony scene.

I need to sort out tea for DS... and do some work. So I need to get my backside off MN...

WickedWenchOfTheNorth · 05/09/2017 19:28

Yep, work, yuk!

All I thought about when Strike grabbed her was that I wished it was me Grin

LetUsPrey · 05/09/2017 19:43

No, you're her when he gave her the dress in the office at the end! Except in this version you don't get as far as putting the dress on Grin

Love this red dress too from a Vogue article

I like the sound of that Letus Grin

ApricotCrush · 05/09/2017 20:02

Hell's bells, DD just phoned me up to ask me to bid on a bike for DGS on eBay with 5 minutes to go. There were already 16 bids on it. Talk about adrenaline rush. Anyway I won it. Phew!

I think I've seen that review Helen, but there have been so many I'm losing track.

Well done that wench - sterling poaching Grin

That red dress has quite a big spit in it #EasyAccess Grin

FancyFancy · 05/09/2017 22:13

Meh, what a pathetic excuse for a week so far

Fortunately the client we're out at this week has very nice people, who are actaully competent. Which is good as the set up is rather complicated.

Can't wait for the DC to get back to school

Yay for the return of the prodigal wench Wink and for apricot's ebay prowess. And probably several other things that I can't remember Confused

FancyFancy · 05/09/2017 22:14

I am aware of the irony of a typo in the phrase actually competent .....

LetUsPrey · 05/09/2017 22:17

Excellent ebaying skills Apricot!
