Sorry to hear that Zombie. I was worried about that when we didn't hear from you for a couple of days.

Do you have people who could fill your freezer with tasty dishes that you just have to bung in the microwave for a minute or two? I wish I was closer.

UnbornMortificado · 08/01/2017 17:29

I'm nowhere near you and even if I was I wouldn't subject you to my cooking.

www.wiltshirefarmfoods.com/home-delivery

Not entirely sure where exactly you are but family members have used the above company and enjoyed the food. I'm in no way affiliated with it.

iklboo · 08/01/2017 17:32

Sorry to hear you're feeling bad Zombie. Hope you've managed to eat something & that test will help you feel better very soon.

Mini rant alert:

Lazy sodding cherry picking colleagues. Just logged on to work's system (ready for tomorrow) after 5 weeks' sick leave to find that the two files that were already overdue when I went off are still sitting in the communal work queue.

I have 9 full time and 6 part time colleagues who all access this queue and are supposed to take the next one in line. I have an inkling that they might be complex queries and that everyone has been studiously avoiding them for the last 8 weeks, probably leaving them for muggins me. I know we've had Christmas but the office was only closed bank holidays & weekends. The office had a minimum of four staff in the days in between Christmas & New Year.

Bollocksed if I'm doing them. I'm on phased return for the next two months. AND I'll be raising it when my boss phones tomorrow. 😡

Fiderer · 08/01/2017 17:39

Wish I were nearer too. Plus FidBoy2 is doing catering at college and could be your personal caterer. Stop him emptying my cupboards Wink

Re Ratty - I saw him Shock Putting the washing in the dryer & there he was. Def not a large field mouse as FidGirl had belatedly tried to claim when she saw I was a bit/lot weedy. Def a fucking huge rat.

Armed with Phalanx tips I shouted loudly which sounded quite absurd (is Ratty bilingual?) but made me feel better. The sudden scuttling of a rodent is quite unnerving.

Which may explain why FidGirl & I are now re-arranging my bookshelves. She's prob trying to avoid telling me of some homework for school tomorrow that she hasn't done & I'm looking for something to do till I retrieve my washing.

Mummylin · 08/01/2017 18:04

Hahaha, sounds like the rat was putting the washing in the dryer !! I should keep him

Mummylin · 08/01/2017 18:06

Is this one yours FID ???

Zombie "Cook" is another option for frozen ready meals delivered to your door, they have a new range of meals for one just now. They get very good reviews, and seem to be of a similar standard to M&S ready meals.

A good idea if you have some free freezer space, a hot meal with little effort.

Fid Is there no Forrin version of Rentokil? You can't live with a rat ffs.

Fiderer · 08/01/2017 18:55

No Mummylin you loon. He looked more like this.

BathshebaDarkstone · 08/01/2017 19:03

Ninja bloody rodents Master Splinter! And friends! Grin

BathshebaDarkstone · 08/01/2017 19:12

Wish I was nearer too. I make a mean fish pie or cheesy peasy pasta. Flowers

Fiderer · 08/01/2017 19:14

All doubt it, given the wild boar. Village-employed hunter did that sucking teeth thing and said as we're in the village itself he's powerless and can't shoot them. But I'm legally obliged to report them as they are deemed dangerous animals.

So half a mile away they would act, because they're aggressive wild animals but when they're a foot from my garden door & frightening my children I should just coo at them.

My shrieking tones worked earlier so I may have to resort to that till I chase off the RattyFiend.

bookbook · 08/01/2017 19:33

Evening
I do hope you are okay Z - it is hard to know what to say, other than say I am sending virtual strength .

Fiderer - now as a grown up with FidGirl to hand, did you remember to say - the {insert scary creature here} is far more frightened of you than you are of them - especially if you are shrieking at them !

mrsBeverleygoldberg · 08/01/2017 19:50

Royal your 'demon' is a cutie! I'm glad you are feeling more positive today.
Zombie, I agree you are probably tired from being so busy. I hope after a day of rest you are feeling better.Flowers

dailyshite · 08/01/2017 19:55

I'm a newbie on here, would it be wrong to ask where you are Zombie? I'm happy to bring some freezer meals over if you are near me. Would probably be vegetarian I'm afraid if that's OK?

HerRoyalFattyness · 08/01/2017 19:56

Oh dear fid that looks a very scary rat Grin
unborn look at the pout on her! How sweet is she?

I can assure everyone that demon is not as sweet as she looks.

Fiderer · 08/01/2017 19:58

book I did and despite FidGirl's laudable if albeit futile attempts at "Don't really think it's a rat, Mum", I think seeing it & shrieking helped.

And I loved her helping me with my bookshelves. She was all open eyed at some tales I told from inscriptions (not that I gave all details )

Do people still do that?

MrsMozart · 08/01/2017 20:13

Very glad you've popped in Zombie.

Bleugh to The Rat!

UnbornMortificado · 08/01/2017 21:06

In Mumsnet speak DD is "spirited"

Fid where the duck do you live? I thought wild bores were extinct Blush

Zombie hope some food had perked you up, fingers crossed for a pain free and comfortable night for you. Much Love Flowers

MrsMozart · 08/01/2017 21:17

I hope it's sweet dreams lass (and all) xx

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 08/01/2017 21:31

Zombie you must pace yourself sweetheart, don't take on so much in one day.
I know that will be really hard for you, you just naturally steam through whatever needs doing.
But is it worth it to pay the price of being wiped out for the next 2 or 3 days?

As long as you willingly do it all, people will let you.

You just need to stop, and tell people you need stuff delivered, or put it off till the next day if not urgent.

Sorry to be bossy.

Same old, same old SmileWineTorch

Fiderer · 08/01/2017 21:33

I live in Germany. Next to a forest. And 400 vineyards. Lots of wild boar.

PacificDogwod · 08/01/2017 21:39

Maybe Ratty could scare your wild piggy off?

Wild piglets are adorable Grin

UnbornMortificado · 08/01/2017 21:42

You learn all sorts on this site Smileat least posters don't laugh unlike DH

IamtheZombie · 08/01/2017 22:02

Thank you all, especially for the offers of help with food. Both my fridge and my freezer are full. It's partly that I can only eat a very little bit at a time. A single small banana fills me up. I really like the Cook meals but I can only manage to eat about 1/3rd of one. If I eat too much or eat something my tummy decides it doesn't like I'll be in pain for a day. I just have to try and pick carefully.
