Sleeps I'm not remotely offended, you daft thing! Grin I just don't know the answer, as I'm nervous of asking too many questions, but I don't think he thinks like that, after suggesting shopping in the boys' section for DD.

Fiderer · 08/01/2017 05:36

Just had an idea. FidBoy1 is back for the weekend and he DJs as a hobby. I have been known to compare the din from his room when he's mixing (?) stuff on his multi-buttoned flashing fandangle to "noise of the demons".

I shall set him on din-making duty. And boot-checking.

Morning Z & all. Wotcha PD. Keep well.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 08/01/2017 07:57

Fids why in the name of all that is holy are you up at FIVE THIRTY AM???

Baths you too - even earlier!!!

I myself am suffering from insomnia. Am gonna pay for it on Monday and Tuesday and probably nod off during the sermon at church tomorrow morning

It will be nice to be back in a routine though and goodness knows I am looking forward to a little peace and time to get shit done when the DDs go back to school.

Fiderer · 08/01/2017 10:28

I'm a bit topsy turvy atm. It's sort of the time I wake up on school days. But during the hols I'v been up a lot later so I've been snoozing in the afternoon.

I'll pay for it during next week too. We're back tomorrow. I hate the 1st week back at home, 1st day is OK (everyone in shock Shock ) but as it goes on it's gets harder to fling the children out of bed at an ungodly hour. They both leave at 7. Thankfully no school run here, which is some compensation for school starting at 8. FidBoy1 spent 5 years at a secondary school where his 1st lesson started at 7.40 Shock

Good thing is that the students at school are usually cheerful at the start of term. And generally well behaved.

I've jinxed that now, haven't I? Grin

iklboo · 08/01/2017 11:20

Morning all. Zombie I hope you're ok?

Fids - do the shops where you live sell the sonic rodent deterrents? They worked for us in the old house when we had a brief (non pet) rat problem.

Baths - how is Bathslad?

This is the gin experience I'm going on at the end of Jan. I expect not to be much use as a human when DH comes to pick me up at the end! Shock🍸👍

I'm thinking of either liquorice & blackcurrant (I know but we love the sweets) or pear & thyme flavour gin.

BathshebaDarkstone · 08/01/2017 11:32

Hearts because dickhead DS2 woke us all up at 2 because he's scared of the mouse. That was me awake for 3 hours, then he came in just before 7 to say he was hungry. Not impressed. AngryBrewBrewBrew

BathshebaDarkstone · 08/01/2017 11:47

ikl sleepy at the moment, thanks for asking. We're now having conversations about Lego Nexo Knights because I bought DS2 some. BathsLad apparently has 6 sets with 2 more planned! It's good to know that his DLA's being spent well! Hmm

OhTheRoses · 08/01/2017 12:12

Morning Zombie

DS and DH both departed. DD revising.

The house is immaculate, need a few groceries, it's too damp for the garden. I don't actually know what I'm going to do for the rest of today. Not sure whether to laugh or cry.

Fiderer · 08/01/2017 12:19

ikl

Still v Envy at that gin experience. Hope you have a wonderfully sozzled time.

Had no idea about sonic deterrents. Thanks for the tip. Have found some online imported from the UK reduced to €25. Worth it for the wee field mice, they can happily scamper around the garden. If they avoid the wild boar. And worth it for me to not expect another rat.

Am idling away safely on the 1st floor. Was musing though. There's a door in the hall to this corridor which is open at the end to the garage. Although FidGirl leaves the door open when she uses the bathroom (despite my rants about wasting heat and causing draughts), the front door isn't left open for a second in this weather. So it must be the garage.

There is a sort of platform in the garage, reckon the builders were going to put in some steps but building work stopped before the house was half-finished. So if you want to get onto the floor you have to jump down about 3 feet. So how are the animals getting in? There's nothing to climb up apart from the wall Shock The garage has a slidey up & down door, no gaps I can think of but I suppose they must be agile to squeeze under. Ninja bloody rodents.

And we're on a residential road, I could understand it if they were coming in through the garden.

IamtheZombie · 08/01/2017 12:25

Afternoon all.

It's not been a good couple of days. I'm putting that down to doing so much on Thursday and Friday. I really hope that's what it is anyway.

It's time to crawl into the kitchen and fix something to eat.

Hi Zombie, it sounds like the last couple of days have been tough. Have you enough supplies to see you through until you're well enough to venture out? Or people to call on to bring you essentials?

Have braved the Utility Room of Doom. Made FidGirl come with me. No sign of Ratty but awful mess with torn plastic rubbish bags which are stored in the corridor till bin day.

Was v cross and shouted at Ratty. Who quite rightly and shamefacedly hid.

Bassetfeet · 08/01/2017 17:04
