Happy New Year Phalanx and, indeed, all of Mumsnet!!

We've had the wedding. We've had Christmas. Or, as I refer to it: THE MOST AMAZING CHRISTMAS EVER.

Now it's onward one day at a time.

There will be planning of the wake so it's going to be THE MOST AMAZING PARTY THREAD EVER.

I have about a metric tonne of Tupperware. Might not have all the matching lids, mind.

Ooh DD has a candy floss machine (somewhere) and a soda stream.

Not sure if you can put alcohol in said soda stream but we can give it a go.

ikl, there's little I love more than a good massage. But I have to be very careful these days. There's a centre beside the RSH that is a sort of drop in centre for cancer patients. I know I can get an appropriate massage there. The hospice may also offer something.

lin, yes, Ensure is a high calorie drink. I've got vanilla and strawberry to try. They also do banana. I've got some chocolate syrup that I could always mix with the vanilla flavour.

Today I've had a banana and a slice of toast with 2 soft fried egss on top. I'll try one of the vanilla ensure before bed.

Pain / discomfort is much relieved this evening.

Today's just been a stones day. There will be diamond days to come.

My grandad got given them (or similar) zombie. I remember he only liked one flavour but can't remember which one. That's not very helpful really

He did see an improvement on them he didn't look as thin and his energy improved ten folds.

I have just had a lovely , lazy , hot bath, and am eating chocolate - Lindt with whole hazelnuts - not bad at all :)

Well as my name change failed, as it was bound to bloody morphine and pregabalin make me a bit stupid well that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it apologies if Queen of the Gingers doesn't reappear. I normally try to talk about adoption under a different posting name but never mind eh?

I think you'll find the patches are a lot better for your tummy Zombie, they also rock because you get a nice level of pain control for longer. I started to have skin reactions to mine sadly so now only get the slow release tablets of constipation doom.

I'm not drinking because I have hopefully got an operation soon and want wound healing to be good. Who am I kidding, I am 99% sure you can put alcohol through a soda stream Unborn, what's the worst that could happen?

MrSlant I originally thought exactly the same about the banana on toast with fried egg on top! I reckoned it was a bit odd, but if Zombie enjoyed it that was just fine

Have you ever seen video of the Mount St Helen's eruption?

You could tone that down just a little. Not much though. If you were going to try it nonetheless, I'd use real cheap liquor and give it to someone else to do. Preferably out in the garden!

Hospice nurses are pretty awesome when it comes to getting the pain relief sorted - and make sure you're honest with them, if it still hurts tell them - don't try to mimic any inner British stiff upper lip nonsense you might have seen - get the good drugs

As a further contribution to the party 🎉 I have found the chocolate fountain machine we bought for a dc birthday party. The adult version will, of course, feature chocolate AND alcohol. 🍹🍸🥂🍫

We sung it was we left my friends funeral. It was the most beautifully perfect choice, and I think it would suit you too.

Well done for walking on sunshine no matter the darkness, you are a ray of light in the lives that you touch.

I am delurking to suggest a Christmas present I bought myself was given, which is alcoholic bubbles. Not champers or the like, actual bubbles you can blow, but with alcohol in the the mix!! How much fun would purple, boozey bubbles be to catch on your tongue???

Another de-lurker here. I have a nifty little apron brought back for me from Spain - think yellow, black and red flamenco style. Lots of frills and such like. The party sounds like just the occasion for it's first outing. I'll wear a red rose in my hair and my posh slippers, whilst washing up and wielding a black sack.
