Mrs I had the same DD2 came down with conjunctivitis Saturday. Nursery still let her come in as she's started the treatment.

Having hell on trying to get the drops in her, we both ended up in tears before we had even left the house this morning.

BathshebaDarkstone · 03/01/2017 15:30

iklboo · 03/01/2017 15:44

DS goes back tomorrow. We've had good fun today playing with some of his Xmas stuff (DH back to work today). DS's late present arrived today and he melted into a big puddle of 'squeeee' at its cuteness. A cuddly family of Ewoks Grin

HerRoyalFattyness · 03/01/2017 15:50

TheOtherGalen · 03/01/2017 15:58

I keep coming here to try to say something heartfelt and then I get distracted by the food.

BathshebaDarkstone · 03/01/2017 16:04

I think we're all distracted by the food Galen! Xmas Grin

Fiderer · 03/01/2017 16:44

Crikey some of you are back v early. Have checked on the website as thought I may be hallucinating, and we do start back next Monday. Phew.

Am now even more resolved to do absolutely fuck all till then.

How you doing, Z? I got a text from one of FidGirl's friends, asking how you were and if you liked her card. Her dad is from the US as you could probably tell from her name. Sweet girl.

JellicleCat · 03/01/2017 17:29

Yet another delurker, hoping there is room for me to squeeze into the party. I can offer home infused raspberry vodka and gooseberry gin.

PurpleDaisies · 03/01/2017 17:31

Oh wow, gooseberry gin sounds incredible.

IamtheZombie · 03/01/2017 17:37

Evening all.

It's not been a good day.

My hospice nurse came out to see me. We're increasing the patches to 1 x 25 + 1 x 12 starting today. She's also brought me some Ensure to try. She's going to speak with my GP about antibiotics just in case I do have an infection.

The Occupational Therapist should be ringing me tomorrow about my bed.

Thursday I see my oncologist.

In the meantime...

I'm really enjoying the food suggestions. Must hire another 20 or so banqueting tables to hold it all. Grin

zombie I hope the increase in patches helps. Flowers

abbsisspartacus · 03/01/2017 17:42

If this were Harry potter you could get better with chocolate Flowers

Hope the patch increase helps

iklboo · 03/01/2017 17:56

MIL, my mum & me catered our engagement party. We had to borrow three more trestle tables & people were taking trays of food home with them. We make Hogwarts look like a bad hotel breakfast buffet at 9:55am Grin

UnbornMortificado · 03/01/2017 17:58

Here's hoping the patches sort the job out Flowers

Gentle hugs (not even arsed it's unmumsnetty)

iklboo · 03/01/2017 17:58

Bum. Half a post appeared. Started with:

Sorry to hear you're feeling pants Zombie. I do hope the increased patches work soon and you're pain free and that the OT gets your bed sorted quickly.

SloanyAnne · 03/01/2017 18:31

Really hoping for those patches to kick in toot sweet Zombie.

Mummylin · 03/01/2017 18:37

Sorry to see today has been shit Zombie. Hopefully the increase in your patches will mean you have more good than bad days. Is the Ensure a protein drink / food that you can get in different flavours ?

iklboo · 03/01/2017 18:40

This might sound odd Zombie - but have you thought about looking at a mobile masseuse who could do your head, neck & shoulders - or maybe a reflexologist? I know some people think reflexology is a bit 😏 but my friend does mine for me and it's sooooo relaxing. Same when I go & have my bi-monthly pamper session (facial, steam, head-neck-shoulder massage)? It helps me with my aches & pains.

Sorry if I'm overstepping & it's not your thing or you've been there & done that.

Milliways · 03/01/2017 18:42

Hope the increased patches work soon. I have a friend trying to reduce her patches as she has been on 150 patches for months, so they will be able to increase quite a bit if needed.

BathshebaDarkstone · 03/01/2017 18:50

Sorry you had a shit day Z. Hope the increased patches help.

What are your thoughts on beetroot cider/vodka?

Allalonenow · 03/01/2017 18:55

If you're not keen on the Ensure, have you tried gold top milk, peanut butter and a good splosh of Baileys? Cheering wholesome and nutritious! Grin

Mummyreindeerlegz · 03/01/2017 18:57

Oh no, don't hire any tables, everyone has a wallpapering table and a sheet we can chuck over. No fret. I also have 60 wine glasses and 60 champagne glasses so that'll help. A tiny bit.

Sorry you've had a shit day; hopefully tomorrow will be better and the new regime will help.

Could we have candy floss? I want to have a go at doing candy floss.
