ZombieLad gets married today. Hats on and champagne at the ready!

A week today he and ZombieLass arrive to spend Christmas with me. It will be the Best. Christmas. Ever.

There have been no miracles so my remaining days keep ticking away. Life is for living. Death is not to be feared. Wakes are for celebrating.

Roses very minimal post there but sounds like not a lot of fun.

The harder you try to get it right the more you will dig a hole for yourself if DD is determined that "it's all your fault".

If she's 'offended' she has lots of different ways to deal with it.

She does not have to choose to hurt herself

Time for bed. DH on way home. Has been speaking at some City do tonight. Gets paid, given champagne and truffly enhanced food while I keep the home tired burning - check hs mother's room is in order. Little glittery miniature rose in there. Darling children have been told to behave and be jolly for the next six days and nights . wishes could swap MIL with zombie, except Zombie os too young

solittle, I have a drugs spreadsheet.

Tomorrow will go by in a whirl. I need to leave home at 8.30 to get to the hospital for my ultrasound. I'm not supposed to have anything to eat or drink for 6 hours before the scan. But I have such a hideously dry mouth that I will have to do regular sips of water. I'll take all my meds (including the Oramorph) with me so I can take them as soon as the scan is finished.

From the hospital I will go to Sainsburys to get enough supplies to get through a few days of feeding the ZombieKids.

I will then head home via Craven Arms where I will call in at the sorting office to collect my parcel and the GP surgery to collect my Fentanyl patches and Oramorph.

When I get home I will collapse into bed until the ZombieKids arrive on Friday morning. They will then take care of me.

At least part of my abdominal pain and discomfort over the past several days has been due to a slow down on the bowel front. I have finally thrown enough Movicol at it that things are starting to move this evening.

Speaking of Movicol, I hadn't understood why everyone shuddered about its taste. The OTC Movicol tasted lovely and lemony. Then on Monday I had to start using the prescribed stuff. BOAK! Today the Hospice Nurse suggested I add a little lime squash to each dose. Miracle!

I'm rambling now.

You're entitled to feel sorry for yourself and have a bit of a snivel, well done pulling yourself, and DD out of it.

I hope DCs step up for MIL's visit, but DH should make her step up and fit in with you lot too.

I do know how easy that is to say and how difficult to execute.

I think a reminder doesn't go amiss though. It shouldn't all revolve around any one person, whatever generation or circumstances.

Give and take and all that.

Zombie the plan with the patches sounds good. I hope your son and daughter in law arrive safely with no delays.

I'm not going to be on MN for the next little while; Christmas is tough for my kids, plus this year I'm juggling 2 sets of in-laws as well as my own parents. Shortly thereafter I'm making an honest man of Lovely, and then our short honeymoon and all that.

But if at any stage you want your Phalanx up to full strength Zombie then please somebody PM or tag me - I will keep an eye on my email.

And in the meantime let me wish all of you, but Zombie in particular, a very peaceful Christmas with lots of laughter.

Unborn, I have done NO Christmas shopping and folk will be opening IOUs on Christmas Day. The ZombieKids are cool about this but I'm not at all sure my in-laws will be. Tough shit.

Zombie you have a pretty reasonable excuse to be fair. Sure the zombie kids will appreciate your presence over any present.
